The Sultry Season: Estee Lauder Plumberry Lipstick
Estee Lauder ‘Pure Color’ Long Lasting Lipstick ($22.00 for 0.13 oz.) is a plum-tinged red with subtle fuchsia shimmer. It has a medium glossy glint and rich, opaque color. The coverage is excellent, and it feels lightweight despite its pigmentation. It’s also more moisturizing than your average lipstick, which makes it comfortable to wear. I get about five hours of wear with this shade in particular, because it is more pigmented. Estee Lauder’s lipsticks are scented with a lightly sweetened fig but are taste-free to me.
Is this the right red for you? Would you wear it?
The Sultry Season is a series of posts featuring deep, rich shades of brown, berry, plum, and wine lipsticks and lipglosses — just right for autumn — that runs through October 2010.

hi dear christine,i really enjoyed this lipstick.and i want to buy it but i couldnt find it,ther isnt a lipstick with this spification in estee lauder official websit. would you pleas tell me the exact name of this lipstic?THX alot my friend.
love this on you, gives you a radiant glow. the plum/berry is very flattering to your skintones and makes your eyes stand out
i get a sample free with purchase of one of the pure colour lipsticks and i had to take it off and rinse my mouth out because the taste got right down my throat and stuck there. i have always hated figs though, so it's probably that.
...you rock with plum's shades.... .......I should find a brown-plum shade that matches my olive skin.... p.s. you always pair gorgeous eye makeup with dark lips!
Random question, can you do some more reviews on napoleon perdis, or NP set cosmetics. I really like their line, and I'd like to know your input. Thanks for your great blog, I read it everyday!
Nope, I don't do anything special. I usually swatch 10-15 lipsticks/glosses in a sitting, so it seems silly to prep, lol!
Yeah all the lipsticks look darker on me! My lips are very pigmented. But now that i know this I can kinda judge what they will look like on me from your photos! BTW I tried UD naked which I loved in your photos but it just looked like very slight lipgloss on me cause of my pigmented lips! boo!
Awww! Naked is on the sheerer side, so I could see it not working out so well on your lips. I wish I had a second set of lips! Sometimes I consider staining my lips and doing swatches that way, but then I look at the lipsticks I've yet to swatch regularly and go maybe not right now, LOL.
Love the colour! Too expensive for me, though... Here in Spain, I mean; 'cause the cosmetics products are more expensive (actually much more expensive!) in Europe than in the USA... =(
That's really pretty. Hope I can find a place that sells Estee Lauder-- shipping's awful for Canada.
Wow, that is such a rich, beautiful color. It completely surprised me though: when I read "plumberry," I expected something with a lot more, well, plum! Still, gorgeous color :-) And it's good to know it's more moisturizing than other lipsticks. I may just have to check it out! Thanks for reviewing it!
