Sometimes it matches. I use Lush’s veganese condition with other lush soaps, but once a week I use head and shoulders.

  2. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn’t! Depends on the condition of my hair, and if the shampoo or conditioner ran out first.

My hair is really short, I only wash it a 1-2x a week and I don’t always feel the need for conditioner so I tend to go through them at different speeds. And since I changed product the last time I finished a bottle…they are different brands. LOL

I got my boyfriend and Aveda shampoo, but then I bought him the sample-sized conditioner so he could use it once and a while.

    Other – I’m still searching!

It’s kind of an OCD I have. My shampoo must match my conditioner at all times. I run out of conditioner twice as fast as shampoo so it’s really a hassle to keep up with.

    • Rebecca

I am the exact same way except I run out of shampoo faster so I always have conditioner bottles lying around but because my family members are not quite as picky as I am they will use them up :) Sometimes I will use my extra conditioners as deep conditioners and douse my hair with it and put it in a cap for 45 min before my shower, makes my hair so very soft and uses up the extra conditioner!

I wash my hair with baking soda and rinse it with watered-down apple cider vinegar. Works like a charm – allows me (even with dyed hair) to go days without washing it.

I shampoo my hair twice then condition it. I shampoo first with Biologe then shampoo with Nanoworks, then condition with Biologe conditioner. Then one day a week I mix it up with a clarifying shampoo.

  8. It depends. When I wash my hair at the gym, it doesn’t match (although same brand), but what is in my shower at home matches haha I’m weird like that

  9. Monika-Luiza

no, as I match my shampoo according to the skin of my scalp and my conditioner according to the condition of the lengths of my hair. this is a tip a hair-stylist gave me a long time ago, and it’s the best “hair tip” I ever got.

I use much more conditioner than shampoo so nope, they rarely match. Also, I’m looking into going sodium laureth sulfate free so whilst I’ll still buy the same conditioner my shampoo choices will be limited.

try burt’s bees, it works really great, and all the scents smell fabulous, the conditioners in the bottle smell a little funky, but the wash out smelling great, but like you said, really only need the shampoo

I recently stopped using shampoo with sls and I feel much better! I have had the most success with the Jason shampoos.

  11. Yes most of the time!

  12. I try to get it to match but it doesn’t always. I do prefer when they match though.

  13. LOL! Great topic. I use a two in one lately, so I guess that technically they do, but I don’t always match my shampoo and conditioner.

  14. meme

Mine matches because they are all in one. I use WEN conditioning cleanser only on my hair.

I don’t actually use a conditioner. I have fine straight hair that stays soft and manageable with only shampoo. I find it’s impossible to style when using conditioner. I do use a leave-in conditioner when I get out of the shower for color treated hair, but that doesn’t match my shampoo.

  16. Debbie

No shampoo for me. I’m a WEN girl. :)

  17. Morgan

Sometimes. I condition my hair every day but only use shampoo once or twice a week. Because of this, I like to use a very moisturizing conditioner and a clarifying shampoo :)

  18. I had my Nature’s Gate conditioner before I got my Giovanni shampoos. My hair is quite fine and I had to wash it daily – and could have done it twice – before I discovered natural shampoos. Now it doesn’t frizz and looks good all day. I doubt that I’ll change just to have a matching set, either, because this combo works so well.

I used Paul Mitchell for reds shampoo & conditioner because it helps my color stay vibrant, but I also use Queene Helene every so often as a deep conditioner.

  20. cherilyndria

I use Burt’s Bees for both, because I have become very sulfate conscious lately, but if I can’t afford it or find it, I will still look around until i find the shampoo, the conditioner can be almost an brand, my scalp actually breaks out from sulfates now, can’t use them now that i’ve stopped

  21. Jessie Q

Yes. I just got a keratin treatment done, so I have keratin shampoo and conditioner. My new styling spray is the same brand, too. After all the money for the treatment, and all those hours in a salon chair, I’m not taking any chances!

Yes, absolutely! I’m currently using Paul Mitchell Color Protect S&C, but if I want more volume in my style, I use Paul Mitchell Extra-Body Daily Shampoo and Extra-Body Daily Rinse. Remember that they’re formulated to compliment one another and you’ll get more out of products that are meant for one another!

  23. Maureen

I used to alternate my shampoos and use them with Biolage colorcare conditioner, but now I match B+b Color Support shampoo and conditioner and alternate the PAIR with another pair.

  24. I chose other because it depends on if I buy duo sets or not.

Sometimes! I often buy shampoo and conditioner together, but I never use them up at the same time. So, if I’ve bought something new and different, I’m usually using old shampoo with a new conditioner. I seem to go through conditioner faster, especially the longer my hair gets.

  26. Amanda

Lately I haven’t been using a conditioner at all. I use Tresemme coloured hair shampoo and thats it. I’ve found that my hair looks thicker without a conditioner. If I do use one, it’s just whatever comes in the box with my last hair colour.

  27. i honestly don’t know! they’re both kevin murphy, but the conditioner isnt the corresponding luxury wash, but the corresponding treatment??

  28. Vicki

I usually buy my shampoo and conditioner together. However, I do have a deep cleansing shampoo from Lanza that I use when my hair feels especially build-upy (that’s a word, right?) I bought the gigantic Tresemme duo from Costco because $12 for 3 litres combined conditioner and shampoo? SOLD!
