  1. Hend says:

I cant go out of my house without a mascara on my lashes OR eyeliner in my lids !!

  2. Sasha says:

If I’m not wearing any, I won’t apply makeup just for the gym (except maybe a bit of concealer on a bad day). But if I’m already wearing makeup, I usually won’t bother to remove it before the gym either!

    • Liz says:

same here. I never put on any if I’m just going to the gym, but if I work out after work, I don’t bother to take it off beforehand. And it usually still looks just fine when I’m done :)

  3. Pam says:

i put my makeup on around 8:30am before i go to work. At around 4pm, i’m done work. then i go to the gym at 4ish. I still have my makeup on so then i work out (it’s not like i put a fresh batch on before i go workout LOL). I only wear eye makeup so it’s still holds thanks to UDPP.

So yeah, i guess i do wear makeup to workout LOL. then i wash it all off after i’m done my workout.

  4. Ashley says:

Honestly, that’s DISGUSTING! The point of exercise is to get/remain healthy, not to get the boys to think you are oh-so sexy. If you sweat in any way when exercising (and if you aren’t, I don’t think you can call what you are doing exercise!), ditch the makeup. It’s better for your skin, and you definitely run the risk of the makeup rubbing away and sweating away and leaving obvious marks and streaks on your face.

    • Anna says:

      Finally!! Someone has it right!

    • Lauren D says:

Actually, it is not bad for your skin to leave makeup on your face prior to exercising. Over-cleansing your skin, on the other hand, can cause skin problems, like oil production rebound. Facial pores do not have muscular attachment, so they cannot and do not magically open when exposed to heat or moisture and close when exposed to cold or dryness. They are constantly open. As long as your makeup is non-comedogenic, it will not clog your pores. Clogged pores are caused by oil and dry skin plugging the pore.

  5. Natalie says:

only an eyeliner and maybe a mascara but thats it! :)

  6. Bahar says:

If im wearing makeup already from earlier I wont remove it. But if im not doing anything else then nah! I wont wear makeup just to go and work out :P

  7. Lo says:

I wear concealer on my blemishes and maybe mascara if I’m going to be working out at the gym, if I’m going to be working out at home, I obviously don’t wear anything.

  8. Amanda says:

waterproof mascara and eyeliner, sometimes a little cream blush with a lot of staying power (MUFE HD blush). and concealer. if I have time i’ll put on some too faced primer and a lid wash, like all that glitters. same stuff i wear to ride horses in.

  9. nikki says:

NEVERRRR! yuckkkk. what’s the point? and so bad for your skin, i’m sure.

  10. Anitacska says:

I don’t work out. :D But I do wear waterproof mascara and lipgloss to the swimming pool.

  11. Meesh says:

I do sometimes because I squeeze in work outs when I have the time. So I could be going to the gym after school or after work and therefore, I have makeup on. If I’m going exclusively to the gym for the day, then no makeup on at all!

  12. Marina says:

I use some concealer and setting powder to cover up my nasty spots :( sometimes a little lip gloss cause i loooove glosses :)

  13. Whitney says:

I do, but only because I go to the gym after work, so I’m already wearing it…

  14. aradhana says:

usually not, since i go work out in the morning before work/ class whatever….but if i go in the afternoon/evening, it’ll be whatever i happen to have on!!

  15. Andrea says:

Sometimes I go to the gym right after work, so if I’m wearing eyeliner or foundation/blush, whatever is on stays on!!

  16. Lyndsay says:

Well, I’m a stay at home mom, so my job is just around the house or running errands here & there… and for that, I might put on a touch of concealer, perhaps some bronzer and lipstick…but thats it and thats not even a consistent event!

  17. J says:

It’s not that I wear makeup to work out, it’s just that I use the gym at my university after classes, or come home and go for a run, and I’ll still be wearing my makeup from that day. If I’m going to the gym in the morning, I might put on some waterproof mascara — MAYBE — but only if I have somewhere to be first.

  18. Abby says:

oops I meant to vote no. I didn’t read the whole question and missed the out part of work out. So much for all those years of teachers saying “make sure you read the whole question” ;)

  19. Sass says:

Not on purpose, but yes. After work I go straight into my workout.

  20. Laia says:

No, with sweat it isn’t really nice…

  21. Hope says:

I only use eyebrow pencil and chapstick

  22. Amanda Sosa says:

I tend to workout during my lunch time at work since I have a gym onsite. Hence, I do wear make-up to workout.

  23. Michelle says:

Oh God no…..makeup + sweat = zits for me

  24. nat says:

Heck no! I usually just wake up and go to the gym!!! I’m going for the “just rolled out of bed” look.

  25. SidnacGlitz says:

I do not wear make to workout, but I have worn makeup while working out. Example I have on makeup right now. I am heading to the gym in a hour. I do not have time to go home and wash my face nor do I have any makeup remover on me, so I will workout with my makeup on. I do prefer to workout without makeup; I think it’s better for the skin…ya know..lol

  26. ThunderBird says:

It just doesn’t look right, wearing makeup to the gym.
No matter how hard you try, you will be sweating, and it will just make your face look more tired… and kind of cheap?.. Or, if you are not going to workout, why go to the gym?.. Go to the coffee shop or take a walk to the park if the main point is socializing…

It is my opinion, maybe I just can’t understand something. :)
People should not be afraid to show their natural face in the gym!

  27. Carol says:

not really, because i never work out

  28. Yumi says:

if i already have it on then i leave it on, but i don’t usually put makeup on just to go there, kind of a waste imo.

  29. Shah'ada says:

Yes, but only because I go right after work. If I were to wake up and go work out immediately, the answer would be heck no lol!

  30. Jamie Fox says:

Depends. I’ll wear it if I don’t want to take it off after work before I exercise.

  31. Nikhai says:

I wear make up but not very heavily. I have just light foundation and a little bit of eyeliner. I just don’t like to be bare faced in public.

  32. Jess says:

Not if I’m staying in my apartment. If I’m going outside I might slap on a little gloss or something. :)

  33. Christine says:

Only if I already have it on…I would never put makeup on to go to the gym.

  34. Christy says:

No not at all. I want my skin to be able to breathe and I am way too concerned about feeling the burn than how my makeup looks. I may have a bit of makeup on if I did just a quick cleanse and didn’t take off lipgloss, but otherwise its a naked face down in the gym.

  35. Leenie says:

Yes I usually go straight from work so my face is already done for the day, On my days off I don’t wear makeup,

  36. Mabeth says:

I go to the gym at my school after classes, so I’m usually already wearing makeup. On those days though, I try to keep it minimal. Some foundation to cover my acne scars and waterproof mascara.

  37. Rosanna says:

No. Even if it’s eyeliner or mascara.

Sweat + Makeup = Disgusting for My Skin

  38. Dani says:

I work out at 6:30am 4 days a week so I try to always curl my lashes and use a little brown mascara because I feel like it makes me look a little more awake lol even if it probably doesn’t

  39. Sandra says:

If i already have makeup on it seems pointless to take it off before working out… and honestly, my makeup usually stays on pretty well even if i am really sweaty. bare escentuals foundation is really good at not sweating off, for me at least. after going to the gym everything gets washed off

  40. Zoe says:

if im already wearing makeup, then i dont take it off before i go to the gym. but i dont purposely put some on just to go to the gym….

  41. Lizz M. says:

I’m not gonna lie, I wear makeup to the gym sometimes. But gym-makeup for me is really just concealer. If i’m feeling particularly unattractive i’ll maybe fill in the eyebrows and do a little mascara, but overall I think foundation and any other sort of accessory makeup is just wasteful at the gym.

But if I’m working out late in the day and i’ve already got a full face of makeup on, unless it’s seriously wild makeup, i won’t bother removing it before the gym.

  42. Jess says:

i dont wear makeup when i work out, Just some chapstick. I dont see the point in doing so, since i’ll just be sweating it off anyway lol

  43. Allie says:

If I have already have makeup on because I was doing something prior to my workout, then yes. If i wake up and go workout then I just wait til I get ready afterwards.

  44. nikki c. says:

i usually take off all of my makeup before going to the gym, buy I apply a little moisturizer and a bit of msfnatural to keep me from getting too greasy

  45. Lyn says:

I have to wear some powder on my eyebrows..so that I don’t go out with a quarter of an eyebrow! LOL

  46. May says:

Usually I go straight to the gym from work. If I remember to bring my wipes I’ll remove my make-up if not oh well. I usually don’t like to wear make-up while working out. I will put on lip balm, gloss or lipstick whatever I have on hand because I don’t like the feeling of dry lips.

  47. Annabelle says:

Yes — I’ve normally got makeup on when I go to the gym . . . but that’s because I go in the early evenings. I’ve already got makeup on that I’ve been wearing all day. I’m not going to bother to wash it all off before heading to the gym. I wash my face and shower and all that afterwards . . .

  48. Julie says:

Most days I just wear concealer and blush and I try to remove my makeup before exercising. Wearing makeup when you’re sweating isn’t very good for your skin I imagine so I keep a small bag of makeup wipes in my gym bag at all times. It feels refreshing actually.

It’s funny because I’ve seen some girls in the gym wearing colored eyeshadow, blush etc. and don’t even notice that it’s slowly sweating off their faces -_-’.

  49. LustreBonBon says:

if i work out after work then yes i already have make up on. I have noxzema wipes to clean my skin but i leave the eye make up on and take it off with remover when i come home. on a day that i do not work, i do not wear make up to the gym.

  50. CathleenM says:

Sometimes, but only if I am going to the gym from somewhere else and already have makeup on. I would never put it on just to go to the gym, seems like that would be bad for your skin!

  51. Julie says:

I hate the feeling of sweaty skin with makeup on. It’s absolutely disgusting. I go to the gym to make myself feel/look better, so I really don’t care about dressing to impress!

  52. Alicia says:

I rarely wear makeup, but on the days I do, if I workout afterwards I don’t take it off first. That said, I wear minimal makeup in the first place. I wouldn’t put it on just to work out, though! I sweat way too much!

  53. AmyVA says:

only if I have a really obviously blemish – then I will wear concealer, but any more than that would be a waste of products since I will just sweat/rub it off pretty quickly anyway

  54. candice says:

Only wear lipgloss so I won’t have ashy lips and a little concealer sometimes and don’t like to because it will be on towel when I wipe my sweat. Yuk.

  55. Morena says:

Yeah i wear makeup to the gym, but its usually with the makeup on from work. i dont bother to take it off msot of the time

  56. AmberH says:

Wearing face makeup during exercise is horrible for your skin. Exercise and sweat helps to push out toxins and other bad stuff. Makeup can block your skin getting rid of it, helping to cause blemishes. If I have makeup on during the day, I use a face wipe to remove at least my face makeup. I’d rather have healthy skin than try to look good with streaky, blotchy, coagulated makeup while working out.

  57. Kelsey says:

Absolutely not! Sometimes I’ll forget and leave mascara on and I feel gross.

  58. Haley says:

Like others — I won’t put it on to go to the gym but if it’s at the end of the day I’ll just remove my face makeup with a makeup wipe and leave my eye makeup on.

  59. Linh says:

I always go to the steam room and swimming pool after my workout… Even if I didn’t do that, I wouldn’t want to worry about my makeup melting off or wonder if I have raccoon eyes.

  60. Joanna says:

I sometimes want to however wearing makeup to the gym is terrible for your skin. I mean a little bit of eyeliner is fine, but any foundation or concealer will seep into your pores because your pores open up as you sweat and work out. :/

  61. Mar says:

As I tend to workout in the evening, I usually just keep the makeup on that’s been there the whole day. I don’t touch up before I go to the gym or anything. It sweats off so easily… It’s just not worth it.

  62. Lori says:

I love to wear Tarte Natural Cheek Stain when I head out, just for color, and I curl my eyelashes too. Only b/c I run errands before or after I hit the gym though.

  63. Laura says:

No way! Like a lot of people, I go to the gym straight from work, but I keep cleansing wipes in my gym bag and take all my make up off before I start. It feels revolting to have melty, sweaty make up. Also, I often go in the pool after working out, or the sauna/jacuzzi, so anything that wasn’t ruined whilst exercising would get all wet and messy then. I don’t give a crap what I look like at the gym, but I’d much rather have NO make up than sweaty, blotchy make up.

  64. will there be any damages on my face if i work out with a makeup on my face
