I sometimes like them. But I hate it when brands just release the same colours in palettes all the time (here’s looking at you UD…)

I like when you can choose what colours you want in your palette. But as Kelsey says ‘I hate it when brands just release the same colours in palettes all the time’.

wat store can u buy them at anyways?

I love some eyeshadow Palettes….i have some i grab for all the time. Others i have i dont seem to grab for

I love the palettes which I fill up in my own way from MAC. But in terms of premade palettes, I often love the idea and the colours but find myself not using them as often. If I could put ALL of the premade palette colours into my MAC palettes it would be love.

  4. Leea

Only if I have one palette, not like 1500 :) haha

  5. Jessica

I feel like most of the time you get a better value with palettes but sometimes they put together the crappiest shades or ones I already have and that’s when it’s a bummer.

  6. They’re my favorite of anything. Multiple colors of the same type? Awesome. Plus, you get more for your money.

  7. Eh, the ones in stores never have colours I really like and I don’t have enough of my own/the right kind to depot and do it myself.

  8. Danielle

I’m not a huge fan of the pre-made ones normally, but the ones that you can put your single eyeshadow pans into I love!

I like eyeshadow palettes because you get to try a few shades and save money. In addition, they are almost always colour coordinated and many of the colours compliment each other. I usually only buy palettes when I like at least 90% of the palette colours.

I was so happy the day I finished filling my own MAC 15 palette with a bunch of gorgeous neutrals. I love rearranging it! Can’t wait to fill out another, now.

  11. Rachel

I love them! I reach for them more than my single eye shadows and its the easiest way for storage. MAC is my favourite for personalized palettes and Sleek Makeup here in the UK for premade 😀

  12. Nancy

Yes I love them. I am really hooked on Chanel Quads.

  13. DonnaN

after discovering the joys of depotting (I just today depotted 11 singles today….what a job that was!), I just love my Pro Palettes. I still pick up palettes from other brands, but my MAC shadows are my favorites!!

I know this has nothing to do with this post in a way, but I’m contemplating if I should depot my beauty powder blushes and regular blushes. I have about 7 in total. Thing is I travel back home from time to time and try to minimize my makeup bag. & I don’t want to carry the palettes when I could just put one in there. Any recs/suggestions?

  15. Jenn

I need to find a good starter palette. There are so many, it’s overwhelming. Any suggestions?

  16. AnGeLwInGz

The majority of my shadows are in palettes. I like being able to try new color combos each time.

  17. Nicole

It depends. I own 2 MAC Pro Colour Paletts (one finished and another half empty) and I love the idea of putting my colours together. Sometimes premade MACs quad are so lovely but not available in my country, like Stormaway or the Toned Grey Quad. If a quad suits my skintone I normally will buy it, but not a chrismas palette or something with a colorful packaging, because I love a simple and clean look.

  18. I really do love them, it’s just that I absolutely hate palette fallout. Fallout of a shadow gets mixed with another shadow and if there is a mirror it’s covered in powder and just gah! Maybe it’s just me because I have a heavy hand… but yeah.

  19. Christina

they’re not really my thing. I always really like one color in the palette, but I can’t justify spending the money just for that one shade when I know I’m not going to use any of the other ones, ya know?

  20. Evelyn

I like them when they are portable and don’t have cream products that will dry out.

  21. Kesha

    I chose “Other”:

Pre-made palettes with tons of colors i.e. Coastal Scents or Urban Decay: LOVE them! I can really get creative as far as color combos and different finishes.

Custom palettes i.e. MAC: NEW LOVE for them! When I started looking at MAC items years ago, for some reason I was convinced MAC palettes couldn’t be purchased by “normal people” and only professionals had access to them. How wrong I was :) Happily wrong…I just recently created my first custom 15 pan palette on the MAC site and it took me about 2 weeks to decide which colors I wanted to put together. So much fun.

Pre-made palettes with like 4 colors i.e Bobbi Brown Shimmerbricks or MAC Holiday items: I’m really starting to hate these. They just pile up; I store them, completely forget about them and most of the time, I only buy them because they’re pretty. I have to kind of force myself to use them after the fact.

For now, even though I’m starting to collect a ton of single shadows, I won’t be depotting any of them. A year ago, I tried depotting a lot of NYX trio shadows into some 12 pan palettes and it was a total disaster. I know all shadows are not created equal but, I’ll never touch my MAC singles now. I DO want to continue creating custom MAC palettes but, I don’t want to have to go through what I went through before :(

  22. Mariana

If it’s a customisable one like a MAC 15 or 4 pan palette then YES! but if it’s one like UD Book Of Shadows etc. nope!!

  23. Vijaya

I usually love palettes, but there are times when just one or two of the colors are similar to things I already have, and don’t use often. That can be frustrating, but I’ll usually buy them.

Then there are the ones with a few great (and I mean SUPER AWESOME) colors, but a bunch that I already have. That sucks even more.

  24. lyn

I love palettes! In fact, I hardly ever buy eyeshadow singles unless they can stuffed into a palette. I like the ease of traveling with a palette as well.

  25. xoBellaCullenxo

    i love them :)

  26. I’m a huge fan of eyeshadow palettes. In fact, I only have one single shadow. It’s easier for me to come up with combinations from different palettes and I feel like I have to work a lot harder at remembering my single shades (in this case MAC pigments as my single pressed shadow is my daily brow highlight).

  27. I’m ridiculously addicted to them.

  28. Melissa (divinem)

I love palettes I’m able to design myself, but I have and will go for pre-designed palettes that have colors I know look good on me.

  29. sophie

i like pallets because you can get more colors cheaper and they’re good for travel, but i find that i never reach for them because singles are so much easier

  30. I tend to buy a lot of palettes for color variety and some money saving.

  31. I really regretted putting depotting all of my cute MAC pots and putting them in the 15 pan palettes. Since getting my pro card two years ago, I have purchased a million of the four pan palettes and put together looks in each one of those. I don’t like not being able to see the colors and they were far too bulky. As far as other brands, I prefer there be no more than six colors in the palette. OMG…I hate the large UD palettes with the pop ups. I love the colors and am currently trying to find a way to get the drawer out and a cute way to keep it without looking tacky and bulky. Come on UD, adults don’t need pop ups.
