My toenails peel pretty badly, so I never really paint them. Also, I can’t get pedicures from other people because I’m very ticklish on that area. I don’t want to end up kicking my pedicurist on reflex! ^^;
@+RYOU+0013+ *snarfle*…
I do them myself. I also do alot of maintenance like exfoliating pretty much daily, and filing my nails at least once a week. Before I realized what sort of things were lurking in nail salons, I did get mani/pedis regularly, and every nail tech I came across would always comment on the condition of my feet. I was very much into ballet from the age of 4 until college, so I learned very early on how to care for my feet.
I’ve been terrified of pedicures ever since one of my friends mentioned that she loves a particular salon because she “rarely bleeds, and only a little!” I get the feeling that she’s an outlier, but it’s definitely put me off. The only place I’m willing to bleed is at the doctor’s office.
OMG..that is so wrong. I’ve never bled from a Pedi… ever!
@ Abby, you should NEVER bleed from a pedi. Go to a different place before you get a fungus or bacterial infection please!!
I’m a dancer so the polish never lasts long! I’m too hard on my feet. Not worth spending the money when I’m going to have to do it so often.
I would suggest the pedi without the polish then. It would feel good on your poor feet. The price of beautiful dancing. Looks easy and graceful but is more work than most can imagine. Iappreciate the art.
I usually do it myself and I love doing my toes when I have the time. Today would be perfect as it is scorching hot outside and we are in the middle of a heat wave. I go out only to deal with whatever I must and cower inside in the air con. I’ve have my hands on the Deborah Lippmann Mermaid’s Dream beckoning me.. I’ve had my toes wearing the Asia only release of Dior Glacier and my Pedi is at least 4 to 5 weeks old (undercoat, 3 coats of polish, and 1 top coat) and still going strong. No wonder I love this polish!!!
Still, the having the full enchilada of a spa Pedi is great because I love how soft my feet are following! It’s a treat I give myself every once in awhile.
Hell no! If someone touches my feet they will get kicked through no fault of my own. It’s just a reflex.
I always prefer to do them myself — it’s easy enough, cheap enough, and there’s no one tickling my feet! I don’t like a lot of salons in general…it feels like they’re manhandling you most of the time.
RE pedicures, I used to always get them and love them but am now on social security disability making far far less than I was as an RN and can seldom afford it. (Sad face)
Yes, weekly or bi-weekly depending on time, but I only do them myself. I give myself salon quality manis and pedis early on Saturday mornings, watch foreign films, and enjoy the silence of a sleeping family.
Yes
yes, every 2 weeks. Just had one today!
So long as I can work them into my budget (and I haven’t had a problem), I will continue to get regular pedis!
I love salon pedicures, but I haven’t found a salon that doesn’t cut me every single time, so I’m a bit wary to get the done by someone else.
Yes, its a must for me at least every 2-3 weeks because if I dont get a pedicure my toes start to hurt from the deep ingrowns I get
I go about once a month to every six weeks; it never gets *that* hot in the summer that I need to make sure my feet are in tip-top condition, but I have awful calluses on my heels that build up no matter what I do. So I go to get them taken care of.
I don’t get pedicures very often. I have “troll feet”! They’re huge (size 10) with perpetually dry heels, nails and toes. I cannot subject anyone to such visual torture on a regular basis. I tend to get pedis during a vacation because I feel it’s an indulgence and I don’t have to see the aesthetician ever again. They are probably grateful!
I like to go at least every 6 weeks. I found a salon I trust and who actually adheres to state laws and mandates. She always remembers about my ingrown big toes (ick, I know) and that I prefer the CND Lavender lotion. Lately, she’s gotten a bit pricey, and I don’t want to stop going, but I’ve had to cut back on the tips I give her to make up for it. :|
I do them myself every week. Soak, scrub, massage and hydrate. Nail polish is changed every two weeks. Salon treatments seem like such a waste of money when I can do it myself. Besides, I have really ticklish feet, so I imagine someone else touching them like that would be uncomfortable.
OMG yes! I go religiously every 2 weeks to keep my feet pretty!
I hate people touching my feet, or looking at my feet. So no.
