I definitely do not. Because they’re marketing to us as consumers. So their image is everything on various social platforms. I rather see products for myself or reviews before I go spending.

Only Urban Decay and Tarte. Otherwise, I follow Ulta and Sephora and am more interested in them LOL.

Only for giveaways, and I think UD is about the only one that I caved in on for facebook.

Doing too much on social media gets unwieldy even with people you actually know, and for most branding, I could not give a crap what their marketing wants to tell me.

yes because they often have special social media coupons or specials and give sneak peaks of new stuff sooner than anyone else can give them. plus if i love a brand, i want to support them.

I do. That way I could be up-to-date with the releases (especially if I follow the local national branches), I can hear about great sales and programs quickly and take part in loads of giveaways and testing programs!

I receive regular emails from NARS, but I can trust I won’t be bombarded with anything, only new collections (which are really only 4 times a year). The “sales” & “discounts” I could get really don’t seem worth the effort, as I would have to constantly check for them, and chances are they’re only valid for a short time (and if I can’t afford anything at the time, what’s the point?). If I want “sneak peeks”, there are blogs/boards I can go to,, where all the work is done for me. There’s one particular board I visit if I want to see what NARS has on the table, and there’s usually more there than what the brand itself would want consumers to see.

I do for Zoya – because oftentimes you’ll learn of promotions way earlier through Twitter than you through e-mail (if you ever do get a notice by e-mail). I also follow Urban Decay, probably more from habit than anything else. Other than that, no. As others have said, there are plenty of other places to get info about new collections and the like (such as Temptalia!) without the constant barrage of “Aren’t we great?” tweets.

  8. On Twitter and Instagram I follow all my favourite beauty & fashion brands. I feel like an insider seeing discount codes, pictures, new products, and updates about the brand. Its just easier to hear about things from the brand I like other than having to go and search it up. I don’t have to just hear rumours about a new Urban Decay palette, UD will tweet out a pic about it!
    That’s just my opinion. XX

I think the only brands I follow are Illamasqua and Sugarpill- I like the looks they post and I’m not exactly going to see their things in store where I live. A lot of other brands’ facebooks etc probably wouldn’t be very relevant to me as they either don’t ship to Australia or things won’t come out here when they do in the US (or at all in some cases). I am on email lists for a few other brands and retailers as well, but only ones that are either in or will ship to Australia.

I follow a lot of indie companies but not many mainstream brands

  11. I have a feed list on facebook with the brands I’m interested in :)

  12. ProperIntro

Yes on facebook for coupons and giveaways that I never win

  13. Yes, I follow my favorite brands on social media to support them in every way. I even love how they show sneak peeks of upcoming products that are coming out soon as well as for what sales they are going to have.
