I’m not a fan of sets period. There are always products/colors I dislike; I feel wasteful not using them. I’d rather buy a la carte and know that what I have in my collection are the things I will actually use.

  2. Only if I feel it would be a good value for me. I own so much makeup, it would be a waste to buy a set if I already owned dupes. I buy them as gifts if I think the recipient would benefit from trying new products from the company.

Only if there is a limited edition product included.

yes i do that for holiday nail polish gift sets! it’s more cost effective and even if there are colors i don’t wear, like reds, i just give them to my sisters or friends. gets me into the giving spirit AND saves me money! :)

I definitely buy them!! Some are a great value and/or nice to try a variety of products from a brand if I don’t own much from that particular brand

I split them up usually between my favorites of the set and stuff to give away as gifts..for a fraction of the cost!

  7. in my opinion they aren’t great values at ll but sometimes they look so pretty and i can’t resist 😀 and i also buy few sets to gift my friends/family.

    I definitely do, LOL.

Sucks when you end up with a limited edition product you can never get again, though…. especially when it’s sample sized.

Yes, I usually buy them intended for gifts, thinking im saving money and than when I get home end up wanting to keep them and open them immediately. I usually end up going back to get another. All the pieces I don’t use I save up to add to my coworkers stash since im always getting her to try new stuff. So much for saving money:D

I just bought some of the MAC Holiday Sets for myself last night! 😉 I am watchful though to refrain from buying things that I already have, or don’t need/want.

I love buying beauty gift sets. I segregate the set into 2 (LOL) – keep the make-up that I like and for the shades which aren’t appealing to my taste or wouldn’t work on my skintone, I would give them as Holiday gifts for the ladies in my family. :-)

Of course I do! Doesn’t everybody? Most of them are not so useful but some things like the gorgeous Nars sets this year, how could one pass? And perfume can be an amazing deal. But I do the math and be realistic about what I’ll use. And where does it fit in my make up world. UD pencil sets are a winner though!

I go crazy with sets! I get them for family, and myself. I always get my sister an eyeshadow palette–it’s become a kind of tradition, hah!

  14. Oh yeah! Love, love, love them!

  15. Ciara

I do both! lol I’ll get one for myself and then one for another person that might like it.

  16. I’ve bought the mac cool toned face kit for myself this year :) All the colours I would use so it’s worked out cheaper. They are great value for money if its going to get used :)

    Yes I do ma’am.

But of course, I bought some for a gift too! :)

  18. I love buying holiday sets for myself, they’re usually a good deal. I don’t buy them as a gift for someone else, because my friends and family aren’t that much into make-up.

I’ll buy sets to split up between my friends, making “goodie bags.” But I will admit that I will take a few products from these sets here and there: I can’t help it!!
