Lips Fit for the Sugarplum Fairy
Dior Tailored Mauve (692) Ultra Gloss ($26.50 for 0.21 oz.) is a semi-sheer plum-tinged pink with white and pink microshimmer. It gives my lips a nice pink tinge, but it also looks a little plummy but not mauve or deep plum at all–very wearable and still in season for fall. It also has enough color to be worn alone or layered over one of fall’s vampier lipsticks.
I like the Ultra Gloss for its moisturizing, non-sticky formula and the lovely way the shimmer reflects, but I do wish it were more long-wearing than just under two hours. The formula is designed to be sheer, so don’t go in expecting rich, opaque color–some of the darker shades are, inevitably, more pigmented than the lighter shades, but I’ve found that the majority shades are semi-sheer but not indistinguishable from each other–which is nice.

RECOMMENDATION: If love sheer, non-sticky lipgloss, Dior Ultra Gloss is exactly that. And if you don’t mind reapplying every two hours or so, I think you’d really like these.

I wanted the 4th purple one in your preview picure, so thought I should order Spectacular Mauve, but I realize it is actually the dark plum one (1st one in the pic). Would you have an idea what the purple one is? BTW love your serum rouge swatches! I want them all!!!

I was wondering since plum/mauves are a fall e/s trend…What MAC ones could I use for that trend? I have blackberry, trax, cranberry, sketch… I want the Dior Mistymauve e/s quint but have not that money to spend.

I think those are all good shades! I’d also say shades like Nocturnelle, Fig. 1, and Shale.

That is really pretty, and unfortunately (because I’m on a forced no-buy for several months) it is a very “me” kind of colour — hopefully it will still be around when I can afford to buy cosmetics again!

I am surprised with how this product looks in the tube v. on lips! It looks great on you but I’m not sure how it would look on me. Will have to test because I am definitely intrigued!
DIOR makes the best glosses I think, SHU UEMURA might only be a lil’ better.
This one looks great, I want it! (I surely have at least 2 similiar colours, DIOR also).
SOme year ago the glosses had a slight smell of perfume, that tokk it away. A pity, I like the DIOR smell of lipsticks a lot.
Seems more pink on the lips, or is it just me?
This is such a pretty color. I was just at the Dior counter tonight. I try to purchse my Dior lipglosses at a discount. I might have to pay regular price for this one if it looks good on me.

Should be fixed! It is LE as far a I know, but it just might not be out yet. It is for fall!
