A Pop of Summer in Your Winter

Dior Lime (602) Nail Lacquer ($23.00 for 0.40 fl. oz.) is described as a “fresh green.” It’s a bright pop of yellow-toned, medium green. There is very, very tiny micro-shimmer that is only visible under bright light–even then it is barely-there. Rescue Beauty Lounge Abi is darker, yellower. Zoya Mitzi is brighter, yellower, more neon. Illamasqua Radium is much, much yellower. China Glaze Cha Cha Cha is the closest, but it is very shimmery.

It’s a new and limited edition shade from Dior’s 2013 Cruise collection (hence the summery vibe). It has an interesting cream-jelly hybrid of a finish, because it looks like a cream at a glance, but there’s that squishy look that you get with a jelly polish. It has a natural high-shine when it dries down. The drying time was about average, but the polish is very unforgiving if you apply before each coat is dry. This polish needs almost three coats to be opaque, and the consistency is a little thick but kind of runny, so it’s not the easiest formula to work with. The color is vibrant, beautiful, and when it’s on, looks lovely, but the formula needs improvement. I typically get a full week of wear out of Dior’s formula with minor tip wear but no chipping.
