2010 Oscars

Demi Moore @ 2010 Oscars

Demi Moore @ 2010 Academy Awards

Demi looks so gorgeous tonight!

Makeup How-to

Demi Moore was a complete vision at the Academy Awards, from her dusty rose Versace gown to her easy updo to her softly dramatic makeup. Celebrity makeup artist Jo Strettell did the beauty honors for the always-stunning Demi.

For Demi’s complexion, Jo mixed two Giorgio Armani foundations—Luminous Silk Foundation and Lasting Silk UV SPF 34 Compact Foundation—and swept YSL Touche Éclat under the eyes and around the nose. Lancôme’s Blush Subtil in Rose Fresque, just on the apples of the cheeks, brightened her complexion.

Jo created the soft, smoky eye with Lancôme Color Design Eye in Ciel du Soir on the lid and Color Design Eye in Honeymoon as a highlight from right above the lid to the brow bone and on the inner corner of the eyes. Lancôme’s Le Crayon Khôl in Gris Noir lined the eyes and Jo softened the look by smudging the line.

The lashes were curled with a Shu Uemura lash curler, followed by several coats of Lancôme Hypnôse Drama in Excessive Black on the top lashes and Ôscillation Mascara in Black to the lower lashes. For Demi’s lips, the combination of Lancôme’s L’Absolu Rouge in Rich Cashmere and Juicy Tubes in Spring Fling created a pretty, nude lip that had just enough pop.

Love it or hate it?

Wow. I really do think she looks stunning! That dress is gorgeous. I didn’t think a nude colored dress would look great on anyone, but she wears it well! I just love the ruffles and everything. wow, that’s all i can say!

  2. kippeydale

Love it, but I think her face needs a little more color. I see that there is a frilly/nude/blush theme that seems to drive her entire look, but rather than focusing on nude shades for her makeup; they should’ve livened her up a little with some blush-pink tones. Don’t get me started on that eye makeup! It is a look I associate with the “morning-after prom date”.

  3. Evelyn

I feel as if I’ve seen this dress on someone else at another awards show. I’m a fan of more vivid colors than they are wearing this year.

  4. Caitlin

    she looks pretty fantastic

  5. angel

agree w kippeydale abt makeup….needed more spice!

  6. Love Demi’s earrings!!! So cute!

  7. Princess

Boy it does not look like her from up close. She has done so much surgery. She looks like a different person.

  8. Stacia

She is stunning! Love everything about this look. I did notice two grey hairs in the close up photo.

  9. mary007

Pretty but a little more color…when I first saw her I didn’t recognize her, hmmm…

  10. claudia

Yes, I agree, she looks different from up close. Too much surgery, scary :(

I think the fact that she has a younger husband puts pressure on her to try and stay looking young. She does look very different. Her cheek implants make her look a bit strange in that first picture..

  11. Lorna

she looks nice. kind of like an understated flamenco dancer

  12. Tina

what an amazing dress!! very cool design..

  13. Love the dress…the face…not sure what was going on there…she looks so different…and needed more color I think

  14. yvette

    Um,PLASTIC.

  15. Sonja

I hate this first pic because all I can look at is her lips and how plasticy this picture is making her look. I think it might just be a bad angle. The second pic she looks cute. I think she is an attractive woman and generally I think she looks good most of the time.

  16. sf

I adore this dress. In the closeup its apparent she’s had surgeries…oh well w/e, she looks great!

  17. Julie

    I like it. Very romantic!

  18. Kitty Kris

I love the dress and I love that she has grey hairs like the rest of us. She’s human after all!

  19. Mollie

I think she looks terrible. What did she do to her face!?

  20. Kate

She’s ageless. I love this dress and she looks gorgeous!

  21. I like her dress and how her make up is not so over the top.

  22. She should have chosen another color for her dress.Besides that I love everything. :)

  23. KIKI

love the dress but definitely not the face! Look at that skin! and you’d think hollywood stars have more money to spend on skincare!

  24. Hilana

The botox on the forehead makes her face look so frozen up…… I mean, pushing 50 and a forehead as smooth as a baby’s butt?
But I do like the dress. This woman has such a gorgeous figure, she could wear absolutely anything. Give her that. She works very hard to look this good. But I have to agree, the capped teeth and botox overload makes her look a bit plastic. Pity.

  25. She looks gorgeous, and that dress looks gorgeous on her!

I wished they’d gone easier on the powder though. I think it’s giving her more wrinkles than she would have otherwise. :<

  26. engel

Love the dress, but where has Demi gone??

  27. condesa

oh my; the close-up shows her face is … FALLING apart! you can almost see the innner pullin threads of her many facelifts. and the skin texture? tremendous.
The dress is stunning, but other than that this picture should warn us all about face surgery…..

  28. Nathalie

Beautiful dress…ugly earrings…I hate pearls and think they should stay OFF the red carpet (unless you’re in your 60s and a grandmother).

The makeup could have been a bit darker in my opinion.

    • Nathalie

BTW I don’t see all this surgery everyone is talking about. She looks like she’s had a little Botox here and there…but in hollywood, who hasn’t? Also, she looks “different” because she’s 47 y/o! She’s looks AMAZING!!!!

  29. Yeah, she looks gorgeous!!! I like her makeup and the dress looks amazing on her!!!!! I wonder what color nail polish she is wearing? I like it!

  30. Monica

she looks so fresh and youthful and like she’s having the time of her life

  31. Cherie

This was one of my fav dresses from the night!

I would love to see it in different vibrant colours too.

  32. Mini

The color of the dress is pretty but I find the dress itself makes her look shorter (the frills are the reason!)

  33. I’m so glad she looks so happy!!! <3

  34. Kathia

I don’t know why everyone is going on about her cosmetic procedures. Look how she has daringly left grey strands in her hair in the first pic.

Regular people whose work don’t depend on the way they look aren’t even brave enough to leave greys uncoloured.

  35. I LOVED her! she was my top pick, from her incredible gown, dowy romanctic makeup and soft great hair!! thanks for the makeup breakdown.

  36. Jane

She looks good from far away but up close…her cheeks look weird.

  37. Melissa

She’s stunning but here she looks a little tired, a little dry in the close up. Like she didn’t use quite enough moisturizer or a bit too much powder. I’d have buffed her face a bit, given her a quick spritz of caudalie beauty elixir to refresh her face and hydrate a bit, and added a hint more blush or a bit deeper rosy lipcolor, like a rose on a bed of silk. The dress was fabulous and she’s still a stunner but she needed just a touch more color for contrast.
