Clinique Deep Comfort Hand & Cuticle Cream

Clinique Deep Comfort Hand & Cuticle Cream ($17.50 for 2.5 fl. oz.) is a rich (and thick!) cream designed to keep hands hydrated for up to twelve-hours and is touted as a “restorative cream” that’s fit for hands and cuticles.

Clinique has created a rich and creamy hand cream that sinks in quickly and doesn’t leave behind any greasy residue. These are pretty much must-have characteristics in any daytime hand cream I keep on my desk (which is where I must keep them, or else I’d never remember to use them ever!). It’s a hand cream that does exactly what it should and without any fuss. It’s scent-free, takes about an oversized pea-sized dollop to get an even application on both hands, and it lasts for hours.

I couldn’t tell you if it lasts twelve hours, but I’d say my hands are significantly less dry throughout the day, and I usually apply it once in the morning and once in the afternoon (if I’m good!). In terms of overall positioning in my hand cream favorites, Clinique comes in as a new favorite, but it’s still edged out of first by Ellen Sirot’s Hand Perfection. However, Hand Perfection is pricier and less accessible, whereas Clinique is more affordable and readily available.

Bottom Line: While Clinique’s new hand cream for the wintertime does seem a bit on the pricier side, but so far the tube has lasted me a month now, and I imagine it’ll take me to February, so three to four months of usage is good enough to justify the price to me. When I come across a hand cream that’s rich in moisture but zero on the grease-factor, I’m all over it, and Clinique wins on both counts!

Ohh! Would this be a pretty good dupe for L’Occitaine hand butter? It would be cheaper! (I think…)

      I don’t think I’ve tried L’Occitane’s hand butter yet, actually! :(

Sounds like it is a nice cream for winter. A good place to put hand cream is the bathroom counter, this way you will tend to use it more every time you wash your hands.

I tried to do that, but I found my hands would still be a little damp after drying them, so I would wouldn’t use the lotion just ’cause of that. :(

Oh i was looking for a good hand cream but does it work for very dry hands? I always end up with hand creams that don’t leave any grease but only moisturize my skin for an hour or less

      Hey Gloria,

I don’t have SUPER SUPER dry hands *everywhere* but I do get very dry patches (eczema, woo!) — probably about two on each hand — and they significantly reduce if I’m 70% good about applying. If I’m more consistent, then they stay relatively gone :)

Christine, thanks again for giving high marks to HAND PERFECTION. As the creator and founder, I appreciate your support.

We are working on ramping up HAND PERFECTION’s retail distribution – and I’m excited to report we have several HSN segments slated on Nov 24 at 1AM + Nov. 25 at 6AM and 5PM – check http://www.handperfection.com for specific listings. And you can always find our products on our website.

To your point about price, HAND PERFECTION combines extraordinary ingredients and proven technologies specifically chosen to address the delicate skin of the hands – omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants, advanced moisturizers, optics technology – and more. The line is clinically proven to combat signs of aging on the hands – while firming, toning, plumping – in as little as 2 weeks! (97% of our subjects felt their skin to be
softer and smoother in just 2 weeks.) No other hand care line can claim that, and very few skin care lines can either!

Equally important is our packaging. Our airless pumps maintain an environment where the ingredients can remain optimally effective, in a closed system that does not allow any light or air to contaminate the
products. The beauty of the airless pumps is that you use every drop of the formula! Nothing will be left in the container. And with the concentrated power you literally only need a pearl sized drop. Meaning our 100 ml Complete Day Cream Pump will last approximately 2.5 – 3 months.

All of Hand Perfection products are made without petroleum (no sitcky tackiness) parabens and pthalates, are fragrance free and are suitable for people with sensitive skin.

So, while our products may seem more expensive than what you have spent on your hands in the past I believe you will find it is well worth it. The ingredients, effectiveness and usage rate all combine to give you a handful of help towards soft, healthy ageless hands.

Also check out our amazing Nail and Cuticle Treatment – shown to help 100% of users have hydrated, healthy nails and smoother cuticles in 2 weeks.

And remember our special offer to your readers – free
shipping on any products they purchase from our website – just enter promo code

Thanks and have a happy, hand-y day,

    Ellen Sirot, founder

Ooh, I am definitely going to check this out. Always looking for grease-free moisturizing hand lotions! Plus, though pricey it looks like it’s more economical than L’Occitane’s little tubes for $10.

You can always do the by-the-ounce test (it’s the way I use to compare brand vs. brand ’cause it’s pretty easy) to be sure :)

I have dry hands and everytime I wash them I HAVE to put something on them…I’ve been using Eucerin Plus Intensive Repair Hand Creme for about a month and I LOVE it…I don’t remember how much it cost (maybe $6-$7) and you can find in your local drugstore (CVS).

I haven’t tried the Clinique hand cream, but I’ve been using Ellen Sirot’s Hand Perfection Complete Day Cream for about 3 months and it’s awesome! I don’t mind spending $40 for a great product as long as it really works. The best part, since using this my manicures last sooo much longer (over 2 weeks!!) so in the end I’m probably saving money.

I loved the Clinique water therapy hand cream. We have very dry winters here and my hands were always dry and cracked with sore red patches. I was disappointed when this hand cream was discontinued and replaced with the deep comfort one. I have been using it and I do not think it is anywhere near as effective.

I’ve never tried the Water Therapy one, but I’m sorry to hear the Deep Comfort one isn’t as good for you!
