Cle de Peau #114 Extra Silky Lipstick

The Sultry Season: Cle de Peau #114 Extra Silky Lipstick

Cle de Peau #114Extra Silky Lipstick ($52.00 for 0.07 oz.) was almost too light to include in the Sultry Season, but I just couldn’t resist.  It’s this perfect shade of darkened coral that works well in the fall.  It lacks the typical brightness of a lot of summer corals.  There’s this touch of brown that darkens it just enough so it’s a bit like the changing colors of the leaves to me.   I love the way Extra Silky Lipsticks wear:  ultra moisturizing, three to five hours of wear, and always flattering.  I haven’t met a shade that wouldn’t work on a variety of skin tones.

Is this the right coral/brown for you? Would you wear it?

The Sultry Season is a series of posts featuring deep, rich shades of brown, berry, plum, and wine lipsticks and lipglosses — just right for autumn — that runs through October 2010.

I love the finish but that color wouldn’t work for me. Will definitely check out what other colors they offer. Looks gorgeous on you, Christine.

  2. Mel

That looks beautiful on you! :-) I would love to try this colour.

I love a lot of the Cle de Peau lipsticks you’ve featured. But unfortunately, we can’t get them here in the UK yet (as far as I know) and they are defo on the pricey side! (haha!)

  3. Diane

The Cle de Peau’s are killing me! They are so pretty but too expensive! Oh the temptation!

    • Lauren

you took the words right out of my mouth! Oh, and the fact that I *cannot* find it to actually try in person

  4. Brooke

It’s so pretty I love it!

  5. FlyingBuffalo

The Cle de Peaus are so pretty! They make other lipsticks look so unappealing!

  6. Mirna

Not exactly what I consider sultry. I can see how you couldnt help yourself, it is gorgous! Ay that price tag though :(

    • I think it’s dark enough to be a way to go dark without going vampy, though :) Just like I featured less-than-neon shades in the Summer Season for those who aren’t comfortable going full into brights!

  7. Halo

so expensive but so beautiful : ) anyone want to loan me 52 bucks? : )

  8. Lynn

Nooooo (for my budget)!! Soo pretty! I loved summer corals and like this darker version! Help! Any close dupes anyone?

  9. I love this! I need to find a good (cheap) dupe for this. Such a nice color that would go well with my red hair/green eyes.

  10. Gina

Ugh, so pretty but way too rich for my blood 😛

  11. Beautiful but way too expensive for me!

  12. Cheyenne

I can resist. :( I still refuse to pay that much money for a lipstick, even if it’s so beautiful

  13. Liz

Is it #114 or #101? Both numbers are mentioned in reference.

  14. W

These are so damn gorgeous, but the price is just too much!!!!!!

  15. t_zwiggy

If only it had microshimmer instead of glitter. Beautiful shade though!

  16. NeenaJ

Gorg!! Is it too early to start my Christmas list?

  17. JamieJamez

There has to be a much cheaper dupe out there even if the wear of it is only 1-2 hours I could care less! This is such a pretty color! UGH! Why does is have to be so expensive?!?!?!?

  18. Debra

The shade is beautiful, wow. Where are Cle de Peau products sold? Do you know if this brand is available in Canada?

  19. CeeBee

I’m starting to think it’s a good, good thing Cle de Peau isn’t available in NZ. I’d go broke! 😉

    So, so pretty!

  20. Ashley D.

    Oh how lovely!

  21. Jazz

gorgeous… but that price is keeping me away

  22. Alison

I’d LOVE to try this but unfortunately Cle de Peau doesn’t seem to be available in Australia. >.<

  23. Jessica

Absolutely gorgeous color, but like others have said… the price tag just doesn’t work for me :(

  24. Very pretty, but I would never fork out that much for a lipstick. This costs more than my water and electricity AND my telephone account combined!!!

Sorry I lied. I would pay that much for Laprairie Rosebronze and ONLY that. :)

  25. Inaya

i know it’s practically impossible, but i have faith in you christine! Is there any mix of lip colors that would result in this color?

  26. Kristi

SUCH a beautiful finish but miles out of my price range! *sobs* 😉

  27. patrice

U should get Kanebo Lavschuca Rouge Melting lipstick at a fraction of price. It’s exactly like the spendy Cle de Peau ones. It’s very common in Japan, this kind of lipstick. Planning to buy more of those Lavschuca and it’s pigmented, cuter packaging, too. ;-))

  28. USD52 doesnt sound so bad. The same lipstick(diff shade) cost me $150 in singapore.
Crazy I know but its one of my fav lipsticks now!

  29. Lorna

I’m in love with these CDP extra silky lipsticks. They moisturize for hours and the colors are so universally flattering. I will definitely pick up 114 for fall. I also am searching for a deep berry/plummy color for fall. Any suggestions? Thank you!

  30. Polly

Just drop by to tell you that I’ve just checked this out and…SUPERB!!!

Lovely shade, glides on very smoothly, hugs lips, and ULTRA moisturizing!

Thank you for reviewing this <3
