Yolanda Frederick, makeup artist, gives us the lowdown…
For Ciara’s Grammy red carpet look, I prepped the face with shu uemura’s new UV Under Base Fluid in Medium Beige. I then followed up with shu uemura’s Nobara Cream Cover Stick foundation in 524 for a flawless golden finish. In order to complement Ciara’s stunning Givenchy enseChristine mble, we decided to go with a flirty lash and lots of shu uemura’s Ultimate Mascara in Black to frame the eye. For cheeks, I used shu uemura’s Glow On blush in M Amber 89 and highlighted with Lancôme’s Model Mocha Cream Shimmer for more drama! For a perfect lip, I lined ever so lightly with shu uemura’s Drawing Lip Pencil in Brown 710 then topped it off with shu uemura’s creamy nude Rouge Unlimited lipstick in BG 940M. I then wanted to highlight the center of the lip with a shimmery gloss, so I applied shu uemura’s Gloss Unlimited in BG 980N for that extra pop!

the outfit is sharp, but for such a dramatic outfit, she needs dramatic eyes to complete the look, just entirely too plane.

Her make-up is flawless. I love her hair pulled back, it makes her face look so elegant, and you can see her cheek, which bones are to die for. But her outfit… is completely ridiculous. She looks like a black widow spider, because the gems look like a bunch of eyes. It’s terrible, hate the lace, the gems and everything inbetween… but, hey, maybe the spider look is what she was goin for!
The makeup is fierce.
Her dress looks like a halloween costume! If she’s going for the goth look, she needs to wear makeup to match it.
I don’t understand the dress, its too long see through pants, leotard underneath, overlapping of designs on the top, round crystals….(keeps going on and on….)

I love when people wear insane things to award shows (Cher!!), and respect her balls…can you imagine going around like that all night when most everyone else is dressed relatively conservatively?! That takes some confidence! But why, oh why would you go with such soft, pretty makeup & restrained hair? Sell the look, CiCi- glue some of those sleeve-rocks on your face, slap on some mile-long mink eyelashes, and wear a helmet with a replica Grammy perched on it, for Pete’s sake.
Like the makeup except one of her lashes looks like it’s about to come off on the inner corner…

The make up is perfect. There’s nothing I don’t like about it, and I feel like going over to Shu Uemura and taking a look at their glow-on blushes now. Amber looks gorgeous on her.
Not sure what to say about the dress/outfit/thing. Maybe she should have gone a little fiercer/more dramatic on the make-up front to go with it? Maybe she should’ve ditched the dress altogether and gone with something more… normal? Eh, I don’t know. XD
