Christina Hendricks had her makeup done by celebrity makeup artist Vanessa Scali using CoverGirl.
Makeup Breakdown
Christina was inspired by Brigitte Bardot’s black smoky eyes and nude face. So, we went in this direction but softened the look for the red carpet by using a creamy, shimmery shadow in gunmetal. This gives the eye shadow a transparent quality that makes the look very strong but also very modern.
I am always sparing with foundation but especially with Christina’s nearly flawless skin. I used NatureLuxe Silk Foundation in Alabaster, which was perfect for fresh, lightweight coverage. For a hint of color, I used Simply Ageless Sculpting Blush in Plush Peach on the apples of the cheeks, looking polished and fresh.
For Christina’s timeless smoky eye, I used Smoky ShadowBlast in Onyx Smoke on the lid from just above the crease down to the lash line. I swept out past the natural lash line at the outer corners of the eye to exaggerate the eye size and add a touch of red carpet drama.
Also, to define the lash line, I used LiquiLine Blast Eyeliner in Black Fire. This pencil defines the eye by leaving intense color at the lash line but is very blendable for a soft look at the edges. Never leave home without lush and lengthy lashes, I used LashBlast Fusion Mascara in Very Black to create just that.
Strong eyes look great paired with clean, uncomplicated skin. Keep it fresh by powdering in the T-zone only, using Clean Pressed Powder, Sensitive Skin in Ivory.
Finally, to complement the smoky eye, I wanted to use brown undertones, so I chose Lip Perfection Lipstick in Kiss, perfect for red carpet glam!

Christina Hendricks is SO beautiful, but this look is too much on her. The bottom liner looks harsh, almost trashy. I also have a hard time believing stars wear drugstore brands on the red carpet..
I agree, it is way too heavy. Whenever I see her there’s always one thing that is just off, otherwise she would look perfect. This time it is that heavy liner!
Especially CG Smokey Blast. That stuff creases after thirty minutes of normal wear, so I can’t imagine how bad it would be under all those flashing lights.
This just isn’t a very good picture of her… And I agree. I highly doubt they wear covergirl on the red carpet. Please.
I have a hard time believing her skin was not photoshopped, because it is beyond flawless. Either way, beautiful girl!
I’m not sure it is photoshopped because I have great skin and am very fair like her, and when the flash goes off it hides any little imperfections & looks perfect! Great skin + great makeup + camera flash can do wonders.

Her skin looks flawless, and I LOVE her hair! The curls at the ends are just perfect.
Also, I CAN believe that the makeup artist used drugstore makeup for her here. Some drugstore products are surprisingly good (I’ve had good luck with all the Covergirl products they mentioned), and the artist (and Hendricks also?) is probably making a nice bit of $$$ for endorsing the brand.
shadowblast didn’t last more than 5 minutes without migrating everywhere on me, i imagine that product would be a nightmare on the red carpet!

Oh no, she has had work done. Her lips have been filled and looks like she has fillers in her cheeks. Sad. She didn’t need anything.
Ugh, that liner is wayyyyy to heavy on her and her eyebrows are a bit too ashy. Otherwise, she is perfection. Beautiful skin and hair!
I like that she changed her signature look for this event but unfortunately this particular look ages her quite a bit.
No critique about how she looks here. It is fine but that bottom eye liner—who did that to her? And more importantly why did they apply it that way? I really don’t like that application because it brings her eye down and it ages her a bit. She’s a young woman no need to age her good grief. Inner rim lining would have been much better than a heavy line that can be seen from who knows how many feet away? Shame on that MAU.
The bottom liner would probably look better if they would have smoked it out a bit. As it is it is just SO HARSH!
She is so beautiful, but I do not understand this makeup. She looks so washed out. I understand she is pale, but maybe circles of navy around the eye aren’t the best choice for someone that bone white. The eyebrows are scary. I don’t understand why they weren’t filled in.
A little bit of colour would have been nice, and the liner has aged her quite abit

It’s so pale, pure and glowing, almost translucent-looking… I’m getting so very jealous, and I’m usually pretty fine with jealousy… Skin that pale is so goddamn beautiful T__T <3
Oh… I googled her though and she’s pretty gorgeous, but this picture of her is really bad. It makes her look so old!! >_<
