NARS worked with celebrity makeup artist Vanessa Scali to create Mad Men’s Christina Hendricks’ exuberant look for the 68th annual Golden Globe Awards. “I had this vision of a big, doe-eyed, lashy look from the late 70s and early 80s. To keep it modern, I kept the skin dewy with shimmering eyes and added a pop of matte texture on the lips,” said Vanessa.

Wish there was more definition at the waist and less of a bundle of roses at the top. She also blends in with the red carpet, I would’ve loved to see a burgundy shade on her. Her hair is gorgeous, windswept and sexy, and her makeup is fantastic as always.
I agree, Harper. The roses on the top of the dress are a bit overpowering. Aside from that, I think she looks lovely. Her hair and makeup are simply gorgeous.

I don’t know how I feel about the intense hair with the intense dress. They seem like they’re competing, but she still looks beautiful as always.

Love it from the neck down. I never seem to like her hair or makeup. She looks very sullen and her fluffy hair with the flowers at the top of the dress is just too much.

Ugh her curves are TO DIE for! I love them. But I don’t like the big bundle at the top – it conflicts with her hair too much.
Green or blue would have been so much better. The red makes her skin glow, but the ruffle with her copper waves is just too much. Even with that clashing she still looks as gorgeous as always though.
I’m loving this type of gown on celebs this year….I’m glad to see Christina not flashing her…erm…assets, shall we say and going for a gorgeous, rich red classic look!

Love her, but the dress and hair (and carpet) is too matchy matchy. The roses are overkill and the dress lacks definition. Makeup looks good though.
It’s like looking at an exotic vampire whose gonna bite you anytime. That stare is smoldering. But the ruffles on the neckline is overpowering her.
Man, that shoulder thing is bigger than her head! She’s still gorgeous, though. I love that she’s a curvy lass. Way too many scary skinny women in Hollywood, as always.

I have no idea who this is but she’s very pretty. Overall I think there is just too much red here. The dress colour doesn’t go well with her hair colour and she blends in too much with the carpet. The rose thing at the top is very overpowering as well. Maybe if she put her hair up it wouldn’t feel so cluttered up top.
She looks like a red lion. The hair is too frizzy and the big red poof on the shoulder is too much! It just adds to her frizzy red hair.

I can’t decide how I feel about the dress. I mean, she’s always a stunner, but the bundle of roses with her hair down just looks too busy. Maybe if her hair was up or if the roses were smaller?

I love most of the individual elements here, but I really dislike them as a whole. I really don’t like that floral mess next to her face. It overwhelms her. I love her makeup, and the cut of the dress, but she needs to ditch the giant flower and maybe opt for a slightly more claret red. I still love her tho. Regardless of shoulder adornments.
i agree! i wish it was just a plain and simple red tube dress. it would’ve at least brought out her face and neck a lot more.
I can’t believe that I’m the only one to say this…. I think she looks horrible! I generally think that she looks gorgeous, but her makeup here looks so terrible. Her eyes look like Michael Jackson’s later days…. And the dress/hair combo doesn’t work together at all.
She looks a bit creepy in the first picture how she does her lips, but it’s so nice to see all the pale beauties!
