I loved her at the Golden Globes, but this is a miss for me. I’m not really digging the heavy, winged-out brown on her eyes.
Update: She looks much, much better under the lights of the press room. Just goes to show you what a difference good lighting can make…

Wish there was a close up of her makeup. From this view point, I don’t like it. But her dress seems nice.
This is so sad!! She looked so gorgeous at the Golden Globes! Here she looks more like a “True Blood” kind of glamourous vampire. Like any second her fangs are gonna come out… lol.
This dress is a sight better than the Golden Globes, though!
I love the shape of the dress but I feel like the fit could have been a bit better. And I agree… the brown just seems a little weird for some reason. I feel like I would like it better if it were darker even. It looks too in between for me. I think black winged liner would have been perfect, along with a bit more peachiness in the blush.
Is it just me, or does she look very Cate Blanchett in this makeup? I don’t think it suits her nearly as well as the retro-glam look she had last week. But the dress is great!
This is a miss for me, too – dress and makeup. She was so gorgeous at the Golden Globes, though.
I don’t think the winged out brown was the best choice for her eyes, but at least it’s something a little different. The lips look A+ on her though.
I’m digging the accessories. The dress is average, it would have been much more flattering on her if it were not so stick straight. A little oomph, flare or flow in the bottom would have done wonders to balance out the top where all the action is going on.
So gorgeous! This woman is amazing. Although, her dress looks a little ill-fitting. I’m sure it has to do with the size of her breasts, poor Christina. I feel ya, girl.
What happened??? She looked so vibrant at t he Globes, and now she looks so pale and dare I a y a little sickly. the brown is too warm for her complexion, a blue based brown would have been better, although personally i think the smoky eye for her should have stopped at the eyeliner, The dress is also meh.
I still love her, haha. But I’m a big nerdy Browncoat, so I have to.
I love the color dress on her. I don’t think the one shoulder thing flatters her extremely well, but the dress is okay.
I absolutely LOVE the earrings and I really love the makeup. The hair is so-so.
I liked her Golden Globes look much more, though.
Christina can do no wrong in my book. This isn’t my fav look but she’s breathtaking anyway.
i like the winged eyeshadowed. I agree that she is looking cate blanchette-esque. To be honest, it makes her look more runway fascinating and less celebrity beautiful which I am always a fan of. Did that make sense to anybody? I know this is a beauty blog and I love it but fashion is #1 for me
Yeah I totally get what you’re saying. It’s funny because I’m so used to her in the Mad Men-type look that she just looks foreign here but you’re right – she just looks more “chic” than “beautiful” but still fantastic. I just like her better as “beautiful” simply because I think it suits her – and her vavavoom figure! – so well.

This isn’t a flattering photograph at all. But I think I would partially blame the lighting and photographer. The angle doesn’t do anything for her, and her eyes seem uneven from this perspective. Surely it’s hard to look perfect from every angle! This one happens to be unflattering. I’m sure she’s still radiant in person. I quite like the dress! The makeup isn’t the best, but oh well!

Wow.. this dress looks pretty similar to Mariah Carey’s. I’m not quite sure if I like the makeup… Her lipsticks really pretty, though.
Much much better dress than that horror she wore to the Golden Globes. She looks sexily elegant here although her hair needs something better.
I only saw her during awards – the MU looked so flattering under the lights up on the stage! These red carpet pics do show it as much harsher
I’ve seen several other pictures of her from tonight that looked much better. In those, her eyes positively glowed. I thought it looked stunning. Last week I thought her eyes were lost under too much hair and bright lips. The dress choice was picked by an online vote as part of a promotion. You only saw the dress on the hanger. I suspect a lot of people voted to cover her chest to prove her body still rocked when the girls weren’t on display!
Seriously, go look at some of the other pics including closeups of her face. Truly beautiful.

Although it’s clear that the press room photos reveal that this is a much more conventional and pretty makeup look, I think the makeup as it appears in the red carpet photos is so interesting and gorgeous…edgy, dramatic, and her skin looks translucent, like bone china (instead of her usual pink creaminess)…ah, lighting…in any case, my girl-crush on her is alive and well.
This look is beautiful on her. It’s a departure from her normal look, true. But risk taking is good! She looks like a goddess.
