I usually experiment on the weekends. During the weekdays when I'm running out the door I stick to routines.
I try to challenge myself to do a different look everyday. There are some looks that I keep doing over and over because I love them, but 6 out of 7 days I wear a combo I havent worn before :)
Makeup IS an experiment for me if I don't have to wear it to work. That's why I started wearing it in the first place. I just love the creative potential.
I wear different make up all the time, especially as I have a huge stash, so I can rotate things and not get tired of one look. I tend to vary eyeshadows most, but often find to stick to the same blush and/or lipstick/lipgloss as I don't have time to experiment with everything in the mornings. That doesn't stop me from buying new products all the time though. ;)
I don't really own enough make-up to experiment with! I have my basic everyday use things and that is about it. But to be honest I have a tendency to think that a look is "too much", especially for day wear. Not that I wear that little make-up, but I find that for instance eyeshadow in unnatural hues are just.. too much. I prefer using products and colours that amplify/empathize what I have rather then wearing colours that naturally wouldn't occur there. My lipsticks are the most "exotic" coloured items I own. Still they range around red-coral-pink. And the only brightly coloured thing I ever wear is red lipstick (but even then, not a screaming red.) Perhaps I should experiment more...
about once every 4 to 6 months....ive been into baby pink blush and lips for a while and now am going for a more bronze glow look...i think its good to change it up once in a while....keep it fresh!

I'm an admin so I love to experiment with work appropriate looks that have an edge!
I'm going to be doing some experimenting over the next few days since I'm going to a party on Friday. My dress is white with reds, greens, golds, browns and some other colors, so I'm trying to figure out what combo would look good. I'm AA and I've fallen in love with green eyeshadow...it makes my light brown eyes pop, but I'm not sure if I want to wear it with this dress....so I'm going to figure out something over the next few days. Experiment....experiment I will. On average though I only experiment a few times a month.
i tend to experiment the most when i'm bored or if I'm stressed/upset. I feel like I can let out my tension when I do my makeup. silly right?
Not silly at all... I feel less stressed after distracting myself with makeup, too ;)
