Yes, I always use a toner after cleaning my face. Usually the same brand as my cleanser, which is Nivea at the moment.
i use an astrigent w 2% salycilic acid. i'm not sure if this fits in the 'toner' category. stress/something had my normal clear complexion a mess, so i started using it both morning and nite. i've been doign this consistently for a little over 2 weeks now. my skin is clear again...despite dealing with the monthly visitor.
I use tea tree water toner in the spring/summer, breath of fresh air toner in the fall/winter by LUSH.
I use it because I have some GWP's stored up. I have yet to notice an effect either way of using it, but I figure if I have it I may as well use it rather than toss it...
I use Lush, Eau Roma water morning and night, its so gentle, it doesn't make your skin feel tight at all, or sting, and it smells amazing!
No toner, I find that it makes my skin oilier. Besides, I'm not sure it even does anything other than give ur skin a bit of a sting. I use Estee Lauder's Intensive Night Repair serum in it's place just before my night moisturiser.
When my skin looks like it needs a little buffing, I use Clinique's Clarifying Lotion. It's different from a traditional toner, as it's a chemical exfoliant. I put it on skin that looks patchy or scaly, and it clears that right up.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE CO.. Bigelow's No. 098 Original Formulary Citrus Skin Tonic Oil Control Formula ... it's refreshing, removes oil, and helps clear up my skin BUT, they recently discontinued it :( So I'm trying to use it sparingly. Anyone know of a good substitute??!
Thayers or Dickinson's Witch Hazel Toners are amazing! They are inexpensive, they dont leave me feeling dryed out or greasy, and they work wonders for removing that extra dirt and makeup residue :)
I use Proactiv's 3 Step set and it has a toner so I use that. Let me tell you, a lot of people wash their face thinking all their foundation and what not is off but when you use a toner and a cotton pad you see all the foundation left behind even after washing your face! It's amazing!
I use Ole Henriksen's Pick Me Up Tonic and I LOVE it! It truly helps cut down on my breakouts, heals pimples faster and keeps my complexion looking brighter & less greasy. I used to use a cotton pad, but now I just pour 2ish drops into my palm and pat it on my face. Even got my boyfriend & his younger brother using it & they swear it works too. =)
I remember reading years ago in allure "If you are not a printer or a scanner, why the hell would you need toner?". That has always made me laugh and struck me as true. I feel it's just another product to add to the pile of expenses.
