  1. I keep track of all my spending, including beauty. I haven’t spent much on makeup in the last few months though, except a big haul in December.

Yes, I have an idea of how much I’ve spent. So, as long as it doesn’t go over the approximate amount, I’m good.

Some things I am better off not being fully aware of, lol.

  4. I keep track of my spending in general. If I was a millionaire, I could see it becoming a problem. But, as I’m poor at the mo’, I don’t need to worry about it.

Does that even make sense? It does to me. If I can’t afford to buy anything, I don’t need to worry about what I spend. Grah.

  5. Because I’m a makeup artist, I keep track of my spending for tax purposes!

  6. I keep a track of how much I spend but not specifically beauty related or anything =]

I do not, because I think it would make me cry. Too many purchases! :)

I should be keeping track because I purchased a lot over the last two months (you know how it is…looking for the perfect foundation, blush, eye shadow, brush, cleanser and on and on). Yes, I returned things that didn’t work for me but I used the money to buy new stuff. Even as I count I’m buying my takeout coffee from McDonald’s instead of Starbucks I can’t wait to drop cash on the Studio Sculpt! I’m not that keen on the Hello Kitty previews I’ve seen but some of the upcoming collections I’ve seen on this site look interesting…

Is there a twelve step program for this?

Not really, since for the last year I’ve only bought things as I run out (mascara, foundation, moisturizers, etc), I haven’t been buying any colors or big hauls.

I only really started using makeup last spring, and was shocked at how much I had spent by summer. Keeping track has helped me from getting sucked into all of those new MAC collex and only get what I really like. It’s also encouraged me to wear the stuff I have and find new ways to wear it.
