Once or twice a week, I use MAC Lip Conditioner and a baby toothbrush.

I mix up an exfoliant for my face that I also use on my lips (with a washcloth)

    Recipe:
    1 cup brown sugar
    1T black coffee
    1T cream

The sugar is a mechanical exfoliant. It also preserves the scrub so that I can keep it in a jar in the shower for a week without it going bad. Coffee has antioxidants, and caffeine tightens skin and pores. The cream has milk acids for a chemical exfoliant, and the fat in it is moisturizing.

I haven’t tried expoliating my lips. I just peel the skin when it chaps. I know it’s bad but I do it. =( I must try this exfoliant recipe of yours! :) Thanks for sharing the recipe!

I don’t exfoliate my lips. They are incredibly sensitive and always chapped, so I am afraid it would irritate them.

I don’t exfoliate my lips, but I really should! Thanks for the recipe, Aim! I’m not a coffee person (I can’t even stand the smell), but I’ll definitely be Googling some homemade recipes thanks to you!

Tiera: just use brown sugar and heavy cream – skip the coffee. Or you can add cocoa powder if you like chocolate. :)

I use the body shop honey moisterising lip exfoliater. it helps smooth dry lips over time while exfoliateing AHA’s It also provides an exellent base for even consistant lipstick application.

i use satin lips exfoliator from marykay. it is fabulous!!

if i dont have access to that, i learned a quick tip. you slather on some vaseline nice and thick…you let it sit for a little bit and then take a toothbrush and run it under warm-hot water and gently brush your lips. afterwards, take a damp cloth and remove the vaseline. it leaves your lips sooooo soft!

i sometimes exfoliate with the clarins new lip exfoliator… it’s really nice. it’s not too abrasive, has delicious sugar crystals that dissolve very nicely and really does the trick with my lips are super chapped.

as for the question above, i think we should exfoliate lips in the same way we exfoliate our face – to keep the dead skin off and allow for any treatment to absorb. especially when lips get chapped or just as they start to peel it’s nice to exfoliate so they look nice (with or without lip products). that’s just me though, i just exfoliate once a week at most because i always forget.

I’ve taken some sugar and water and rubbed it into my lips. Worked out fine :)

i exfoliate my lips by dipping my lip balm in sugar and rubbing that in on my lips. if i feel i need more i just dip my finger in the sugar and rub so more in. then i wipe it off with a issue and put on a DIFFERENT lip balm to moisturize my lips

    i learned this from makeupmoxie.com
