China Glaze I'm With the Lifeguard Nail Lacquer
China Glaze I’m With the Lifeguard Nail Lacquer

Add a Little Electric Green to Your Routine

One of twelve shades from China Glaze Summer Neons Collection, China Glaze I’m With the Lifeguard Nail Lacquer ($3.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is described as a “glimmering lime green.” I’d say that’s a rather apt description! It’s a vibrant, slightly cool-toned lime green with soft shimmer. Cult Nails Deal With It is warmer, darker, less neon. China Glaze Cha Cha Cha is also darker, moer golden, and not neon. China Glaze Kiwi Cool-ada was the closest shade that I could think of, though it has a cream finish.

The consistency was somewhat thick, so each coat was thicker than I’d like, which resulted in some pooling of polish along the edges. The shimmer also created some noticeable brush strokes, but the color was opaque after two coats.  It’s just a fussier formula overall–takes longer to dry, more patience required to get even coats (and color).  I’m usually a fan of China Glaze’s formula, but something wasn’t quite right with a lot of the shades in their summer launch.  The colors are fun and gorgeous (totally summer-esque), so it’s a little disappointing! I could see this lime green working well on toes.  I normally get a week of wear with no chipping and minor tip wear with China Glaze’s formula.

Looks nice on you! :) I also have worn this shade, and it was a lot of fun! The shimmer is a nice twist on a regular neon polish, but I still prefer China Glaze Kiwi Cool-Ada because it’s way brighter and retina-searing! ;)

I’ve worn many of the Chg summer neons now, and somewhat getting used to the thick formula. I just wore this for nearly a week, no chips or ugliness! And I have to say it is a great color. I loved wearing it with my bright orange dress, and to bring color to a black and white outfit :)

  3. Omg, this neon green shimmer is so gorgeous. I’m used to seeing neon green, but the addition of shimmer really takes it to the next level for me. China Glaze really knows their neons!

I have put off getting this nail color and now…seeing it on your nails has sealed the deal for me!!! =D I normally don’t reach for nail colors that have a formula of your description but for a color like that, I’m willing to put up with it.

I wanted this the second I saw it and I still do!  To me even if the formula isnt perfect it’s still worth it for such a beautiful and unique shade!

This color reminds me of a tween summer spent in Ocean City MD. I thought I would just DIE if I didn’t have rubberized fake Ray Bans in every Day Glo color. Of course I later felt that way about HyperColor shirts too, so…Anyhow I’m still a sucker for fluorescents on my nails. I like the way they glow with my super white skin so that I look practically nuclear! Ugh I’m an oddball.

I don’t usually like neon polishes, but there’s something about this one that’s quite appealing. Perhaps it’s the shimmer. That said, as much as I like this one, I still can’t see myself wearing it.

    so cool :D tho a shimmer-less one would’ve been perfect <3

  9. It’s green, I’ll take it! No seriously, green is one of my favorite colors but I’m not sure about this neon shade. Like you said, maybe for the toe nails.

Wow, I LOVE this. Such a fun color. I love the addition of shimmer, too.

What’s the best base coat to prevent staining from a polish like this?

    Love neons!!

Glad I’m not the only one who has had trouble with the formula of the China Glaze summer neon collection. I’ve tried Under the Boardwalk (the bright fuschia/purple) twice, once alone and once over white, and it goes on watery, streaky, and berry-colored rather than the brilliant neon purple shade in the bottle. I’m returning it.
