Chanel Magnolia Rouge Coco Lipstick
Chanel Holiday 2010: Magnolia
Chanel Magnolia Rouge Coco Lipstick ($30.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a slightly milky medium pink with subtle blue undertones and a glossy finish. It seemed glossier and smoother than other Rouge Cocos I’ve tried–very creamy. It also had less of a shimmer/frost finish. Rouge Coco is a little drier and less opaque, tending to have more shimmer/frost finishes in its line-up than the Rouge Allure family. It’s a lightweight lipstick, and the line has a lot of universally appealing shades. It has a slight vanilla-ish rose scent, but it’s quite subtle, and I never notice it when I use my Rouge Cocos. This shade of pink is nice for both cooler and warmer skin tones, as it’s not too strong of a blue base.
Cle de Peau #106 Extra Silky Lipstick is a smidgen lighter but otherwise similar, including that slightly glossy finish; Maybelline Warm Me Up is warmer but close; Urban Decay Naked seems the closest in color but has less of a naturally glossy finish.

RECOMMENDATION: It’s a beautiful shade of pink that’s very wearable and perfect for everyday; which simultaneously makes it not necessarily the most original shade either.

I can't resist when my SA showed me Magnolia. I fell in love with it at the very first swipe.:) It glides so effortlessly and the color is just one of the best I have, I find myself grabbing it to put in my makeup kit everytime I get a lipstick from my makeup box in the morning. It is just that kind of pretty and wearable. On me, one swipe is all my lips need. Its only been a month and a half and the I'm halfway finishing it already... I think I might have to buy a reserve for this already but unluckily, its already OS here where I live.
Even though it has a nice shine to it, it still reminds of those chalky, washed out colors from the past.
I never, ever buy pink lippies. I try many but never buy. I have fair/olive skin with undereye circles. ( Thank you to all my mediterranean family ) i always feel any blue tone lippies bring out my arch enemy-the undereye circles- I tried this on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. Neutral to cool but very wearable. Extremely comfortable to wear and has a gorg glossy sheen to it with a hint of shimmer. Reminds me of a better made aqualumiere ( my favorite formula)- My one tiny gripe is it does appear a bit streaky when freshly applied, this can be smoothed out with a little blotting or taking a sip of a latte. Small gripe for a lovely pink that is very universal. :)
I got CdP #106 and I think it looks warmer and more opaque than this so I may skip this one! It looks pretty on you, though :)
I bought Magnolia when I was purchasing some of the other items in the holiday collection. It's quite a chameleon! Worn alone, it is a demure, soft pink that is perfect for casual looks. But, the fun starts when different Glossimers are layered over it. Glossimer in Pink Dilemma gives it a cooler and more refined look. Glossimer in Charming gives it a crystalline look with tiny sparks of glitter catching the light--definitely festive. Glossimer in Pink Pulsion gives it a sultry depth that is all out glam. Magnolia is a beautiful starting point for so many looks. If you think your skin tone isn't suited to it, just try it with a Glossimer and you'll find it is the perfect color.
this one is so lovely....but I have a question on the pink nail polish of this holiday collection...the n.547 PULSION does look close to the RIVERA(the shade of this summer?)....????
Gorgeousness! I love the golden shimmer in it. I have this on order from the Chanel site and cannot wait to get it. I can never have enough perfect pink lippies!
I thought I'd want this, but having seen the swatches I think maybe not. It looks too sheer and I have many lipsticks in similar shades already.
Here you go, she posted this not too long ago. It's a warm pink! http://www.temptalia.com/chanel-confidentielle-rouge-coco-lipstick
Right after seeing the campaign picture for this collection, I know I had to check it out. Magnolia is by far the best and ONLY pink lipstick that I can pull off. It looks quite amazing on its own, but with Pink Pulsion glossimer, it's LOVE !!!!
I saw this at my Chanel counter yesterday and loved the color!! I have warm toned skin so these types of pinks don't look as great on me as I would like- but this one works! And like you said, I definitely felt the extra glossiness in comparison to the regular Rouge Cocos as well.
