Chanel Impulsive (132) Rouge Allure Lip Color
Chanel Impulsive (132) Rouge Allure Lip Color

Chanel Impulsive (132) Rouge Allure Lip Color ($34.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a warm, coral-red with a frosted, slightly matte, finish. It had rich, opaque color coverage, but the texture made lips look wrinkly and dry (and I swear, they weren’t at all!). It wore well for nearly six hours, but it was slightly drying. MAC Night to Remember (LE, $15.00) is darker, redder. Guerlain Madame Flirte (861) (LE, $49.50) is pinker. MAC Rozz (LE, $15.00) is brighter, redder. Chanel Dialogue (P, $34.00) is less frosted but similar in color. Revlon Wild Watermelon (P, $7.49) is pinker. Chanel Amant (P, $34.00) is similar but less frosted. Tom Ford Beauty Willful (P, $48.00) is less frosted, warmer. Guerlain Rouge Sensuel (LE, $49.50) is similar but less frosted. Chanel Flamboyante (P, $34.00) is lighter. See comparison swatches.

Enigmatique (135) Rouge Allure Lip Color ($34.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a warm, slightly muted, red with a soft, frosted finish that almost looks like a matte frost. It had mostly opaque color coverage, and though the lipstick itself glided onto lips easily enough, the finish made my lips look dry rather than smooth. It wore well for six hours but was slightly drying over time.  MAC Night to Remember (LE, $15.00) is less frosted. Chanel Dialogue (P, $34.00) is slightly cooler. Chanel Amant (P, $34.00) is a touch lighter. NARS Golshan (P, $25.00) is slightly browner. Milani Cherry Crave (P, $5.49) is more frosted. Guerlain Habit Rouge (P, $35.00) is darker. See comparison swatches.

It would be really great if you could also mention always the rest you put on your face.. like foundation, blushes.. I really miss that sometimes :)

    • Hey Rebekka!

These days I basically don’t wear any blush or eye makeup in a lot of lip/blush swatch photos due to reader feedback, so I don’t keep track very often any more! :( I’m happy to answer if you see I’m wearing something you want to know more about, though, and if I can remember or do have it written down, will pass it along!

      The blush here is: http://www.temptalia.com/chanel-accent-84-joues-contraste-powder-blush-review-photos-swatches

arg so I DO need now the Chanel blush too :D I’ve been wondering for weeks if I really need it, since I already have warm soul MSF by MAC.. sigh.
But thank you for letting me know. Your skin looks in very many swatch-pics really beautiful, the blushes you are wearing match the whole thing all the time so perfectly and that glow you have all over on the face… :)
reallly, I sometimes desperately want to know what foundation and powders you are using them. Have never seen your skin that gorgeous and i am a trusty follower for years ;)

Christine, what reader feedback? Do people think that wearing a full face of make up detracts from the lip product photo?

        • Hey Georgina!

The issue is I don’t just wear makeup to look “pretty,” I just wear it to test – which means that stuff doesn’t always go together, and when I do blush or lip swatches… I do 10-15 lip colors, 2-6 blushes, in one go, so it’s hard to get *everything* to look as if it goes together based on what I’m testing :)

  2. I kinda dig the finish on these, it’s…interesting.

  3. I really like both of these, but I feel like I have some that are very similar shades already in my collection.

  4. My name is Kelly, and I have an addiction…to red lipsticks. I need no more reds…and yet I’m literally itching to order this asap! It looks so gorgeous and so creamy!!
