Solessence Radio Interview
A few weeks ago, the lovely Hillary of Solessence Radio asked to interview Temptalia, and as we were extremely flattered to be asked, we enthusiastically said yes! Hillary just posted the transcript of the interview (and you can always listen to the archived show, too), if you’re interested.
Kickin’ beauty shots! Insider launch info! Makeup database spanning from 1996! What’s not to like for the nearly 200k readers that stop by every month?
By day she’s a law student, and one of the top makeup bloggers around. At a height of 200k unique visitors a month, Christine Mielke has crafted her blog Temptalia.com into one of the hottest makeup resources. Her signature closeups of eye and lip applications, along with reviews of different brands, are top notch instructionals for readers. Combine that with her willingness to engage her audience, and you often find a lively comment trail for her posts.
You can view the transcript of the interview here.

TOP BLOGS: According to a new report from research firm Konector on the top-50 beauty blogs, Temptalia, NaturallyCurly.com and Basenotes are the top three beauty blogs garnering more than 500,000 viewers a month. Kingsley Maunder, a director at Konector, explained the leading blogs typically focus on a “very particular topic or target market” to generate a “large, regular following that spend a significant amount of time on the site.” The report found that two of the fastest growing beauty blogs are Pursebuzz.com and xSparkage, which utilize YouTube to communicate about beauty. The report measured how many people visit each blog, how often they visit and how active they are on the blog to rank beauty blogs.
Konector has released the full article, which you can read in its entirety here. Konector leads with headline, “Temptalia is the most influential beauty blog.” Amazing. Absolutely amazing.
THANK YOU TEMPTETTES! (Temptalia readers are affectionately known as “Temptettes.”) This is amazing-super-exciting news that really just shows how amazing all of you that read Temptalia are. Without your readership, feedback, suggestions, and comments, this blog would be nothing like it is today. Your support and encouragement since the beginning (back in October 2006!) have paved the road to every success and opportunity we’ve managed to obtain. Temptalia grows because of you–by your word of mouth–and we have only you to thank for our success today and going forward.
Congratulations to NaturallyCurly.com, Basenotes, Pursebuzz, and xSparkage, as well!

From the very bottom of my heart–for the love of all things beauty–THANK YOU for making this happen.
Every vote cast showed so much support for Temptalia, and all of those votes paid off! We were up against some fierce competition, and I was so (insanely happily) surprised to have won.
As soon as I woke up, I checked my Blackberry, and I saw the announcement e-mail, I held my breath while I clicked it open–and I screamed so loud when I read we won! This is one of those moments in life where you know your hard work has paid off and given back to you. I am humbled and honored to have received such a tremendous outpouring of support from all of you. Thank you again for being a part of such a special moment in my life!
Congratulations to all of the other Glam Network Award Winners!

The Key Sites is an accompanying article to Beauty In the Blogosphere, an article that talks about the growing influence of beauty blogs on the industry and compares and contrasts some of the issues concerning print vs. blog reviews and usage. Thanks to WWD and Matthew Evans!

Press
If you have a brand, event, or product you are interested in having featured or reviewed on Temptalia.com, contact us with details. Interview and spotlight opportunities are appreciated and considered. We accept press releases and collection information for all brands and lines, as well. Samples are always appreciated, but not necessary for consideration.
Transparency
Some reviews are made possible through press samples sent directly to the editor. These samples make testing and trying out a product to its fullest potential a reality, and it gives both the reader and the reviewer a way to honestly evaluate the product. It is important to note that we will never hype up a product solely because we were sent it through a publicist; we want to retain our credibility as a blogger, as well as our integrity.

Thanks!
