Chanel Perles et Fantaisies Illuminating Powder
Here’s a quick peek of several items from the new Chanel Les Sautoirs de Coco Collection, which is available online now.
Chanel Rose Bronze Joues Contraste Blush
Chanel Rose Bronze Joues Contraste Blush ($45.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a soft, medium rose pink with warm undertones and a satin finish. Tarte Prim (LE, $26.00) is cooler (85% similar). NARS Unlawful (P, $30.00) is more shimmery, darker (85% similar). Chanel Alezane (260) (P, $45.00) is darker, warmer (80% similar). NYX Bronzed (P, $6.50) is more shimmery, darker, warmer (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
The Joues Contraste formula is supposed to have “buildable coverage, from natural to dramatic” with a “flattering radiance” and “silky texture.” It’s not a new shade by any means (it’s been around for years), but having loved a few of the recent shades Chanel’s added over the last year, I bought this one with my last Chanel order (the spring collection). The texture is soft and blendable, though I found it dusty and less smooth compared to other Chanel powder blushes–I think it has little bits of larger-sized sparkle that contribute (at least partially) to that feeling. On the skin, it blended out without trouble and yielded a soft, satiny sheen. The coverage is semi-sheer to semi-opaque, buildable without much effort and layered without becoming patchy or powdery. The color wore well for seven and a half hours on me.
