MAC Forever Marilyn Beauty Powder ($28.00 for 0.35 oz.) is described as a “sheer pale peach highlighter.” It’s a very light pink-tinged peach. In the pan, it looked rather peachy, but when swatched on my arm as well as applied to my cheek, it looked a bit pink. MAC Play It proper is similar but pinker in the pan. MAC Lightscapade is lighter, yellowy. MAC Light Sunshine is more shimmery. The color is as described; it’s sheer, though somewhat buildable.
MAC Marilyn Monroe Lipsticks ($16.50 for 0.10 oz.) includes five shades: Charmed, I’m Sure (dark true red), Deeply Adored (deep scarlet), Love Goddess (mid-tone pink red), Pure Zen (frosted warm nude), and Scarlet Ibis (bright orange red). The latter two are repromotes.
MAC 215 Medium Shader Brush ($25.00) is a new, limited edition (I believe, at least) brush designed to be used for shaping and defining the eye with both powder and cream eyeshadows. It has natural bristles. This brush is like a bigger 214, or a stumpy version of the 227. The 215 is wide, dome-shaped brush that’s packed with bristles. For me, it felt a little rough on the eye. It was less rough when I used powder eyeshadows than when I used cream eyeshadows, which seemed to emphasize the pointy, blunt edges of the bristles.
