Make Up For Ever #21 Rouge Artist Intense Lipstick

It is and isn’t a dupe. It is the closest I’ve seen, even after going through the Scarlet Season posts from last year, and it has some of that shimmer-metallic sheen, but the metallic finish is much stronger in Adora, which gives it a darker look. It is also glossier and less matte than Adora. The color itself is quite close, slightly brighter, but the red itself seems right there with Adora. #21 is a bright cherry red with a very slight blue base, but it doesn’t read cool when I wear it. It applies opaque in just one layer, and it wears for six hours with ease.

Kat Von D Adora Painted Love Lipstick

Kat Von D Adora Painted Love Lipstick ($18.00 for 0.11 oz.) is new-for-fall, and it looks like it’s already sold out online. I just received this from Sephora as part of their holiday offerings, so I was quite surprised to find it missing in action online! It looks like this may be a shade you’ll have to pick up from your local Sephora–if they still have it. It is a stunning shade of bright metallic red. It is an absolutely stunning shade of holiday red; it’s got a metallic-chrome shine that makes the color glow under light.

Bobbi Brown Hollywood Red Lip Color

Bobbi Brown Hollywood Red Lip Color ($22.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a bright, candy apple red with fuchsia undertones and scarlet red micro-shimmer. It’s rich and opaque, and the color is nearly traffic-stopping. This pink-based red makes wearing a cooler red easier for those with warmer skin tones while still brightening teeth.

Bobbi Brown’s Lip Colors are scent- and taste-free. With a vibrant shade like this, I easily get four hours of wear, but it usually extends to five or six. Many of the shades from the Lip Color range are incredibly rich in pigmentation–lots of creamy, opaque shades to go around, and Hollywood Red is no exception. It’s a new shade for the holidays, but it’s also sticking around (aka it’s not limited edition).

Guerlain Grenade (65) Rouge G Lipstick

The first dupe I could think of was Dior Raspberry Serum de Rouge, which is more muted and less pink, but I think it may be close enough for those wanting a more palatable price tag.  Chanel Rouge Orage Rouge Coco is also similar but pulls almost coral in comparison.
