Bite Beauty Corvina High Pigment Pencil
Bite Beauty Corvina High Pigment Pencil

Bite Beauty Corvina High Pigment Pencil ($24.00 for 0.09 oz.) is described as a “bright coral pink.” It’s a brightened, pink-coral with warm undertones and a soft shine. It’s incredibly pigmented in a single stroke, and the consistency was lightly creamy so the color went on smoothly and evenly. This shade lasted for nearly six hours on me and was moderately hydrating during that time. The only downside is that if you were looking for the “modern matte” finish they promise, this starts out with more of a satin finish, though it does mattify after an hour or so. It has a subtle citrus scent but no taste. Guerlain Geneva (48) (P, $51.00) is more orange. Dior Sunset (660) (LE, $34.00) has shimmer. Estee Lauder Defiant Coral (P, $30.00) is similar. Bite Beauty Crush (P, $28.00) is lighter, more matte. Marc Jacobs Beauty Shout (138) (LE, $30.00) is darker, pinker. Maybelline Shocking Coral (P, $7.49) is darker. Make Up For Ever #37 (P, $19.00) is slightly darker. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Bite Beauty Violet High Pigment Pencil ($24.00 for 0.09 oz.) is described as a “lavender violet.” It’s a muted, medium magenta purple with a soft, satiny shine. The pigmentation is excellent with full color coverage in one layer, but the finish has more shine than you’d expect based on the brand’s description. It wears well for five hours and was lightly hydrating while worn. It has a subtle citrus scent but no taste. Too Faced Melted Violet (P, $21.00) is purpler, brighter. MAC Happy-Go-Lucky (LE, $16.00) is brighter, pinker. Bite Beauty Violet (P, $24.00) is brighter. Bite Beauty Grape (LE, $24.00) is brighter. Bite Beauty Satsuma (LE, $24.00) is brighter, pinker. NARS Full Frontal (LE, $26.00) is brighter. MAC RiRi Boy (LE, $16.00) is more matte, slightly darker. NYX Pink Lyric (P, $4.00) is pinker. MAC Love Forever (P, $18.00) is glossier. MAC Up the Amp (P, $16.00) is slightly more matte. MAC Outrageously Fun (LE, $16.00) is more fuchsia. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Bite Beauty Bouquet High Pigment Pencil
Bite Beauty Bouquet High Pigment Pencil

Bite Beauty Bouquet High Pigment Pencil ($24.00 for 0.09 oz.) is described as a “peachy pink.” It’s a light-medium, yellow-toned pink with a semi-matte finish. It’s richly pigmented, as described, though the finish has a tiny bit more shine initially than a “modern matte” typically has, but that little bit of shine is worn away within an hour and a half of wear. The consistency is moderately creamy so it glides on well while still applying evenly. The color itself stays on well for four and a half hours and is lightly hydrating. It has a very subtle citrus-y scent. Too Faced Melted Peony (P, $21.00) is lighter. Laura Mercier Heartbreaker (LE, $23.00) is cooler-toned. YSL Corail Jalouse (32) (P, $34.00) is similar. YSL Opera Rose (29) (P, $34.00) is brighter, pinker. MAC Giddy (P, $16.00) is slightly warmer, more shimmery. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Bite Beauty Chablis High Pigment Pencil ($24.00 for 0.09 oz.) is described as a “soft coral rose.” It’s a softly muted, medium coral-pink with warm undertones and a satin shine. This shade had fantastic, full color coverage, though the finish wasn’t quite as matte as described. It stayed on well for five and a half hours with a lightly hydrating formula. It was comfortable to wear, and it was easy to apply as the texture was creamy without being heavy. The muted quality to the color is what makes it different from some other corals, which have a brightness to them. It has a very subtle citrus-y scent. Givenchy Corail Decollete (303) (P, $36.00) is slightly pinker. Givenchy Brun Vintage (105) (P, $36.00) is more muted, less coral. MAC Mystical (LE, $16.00) is less pink. Guerlain Geneva (48) (P, $51.00) is brighter, warmer. MAC Toying Around (LE, $16.00) is brighter. Estee Lauder Defiant Coral (P, $30.00) is brighter, darker. Bite Beauty Crush (P, $28.00) is brighter. Marc Jacobs Beauty Shout (138) (LE, $30.00) is darker. MAC Out for Passion (LE, $20.00) is sheerer, warmer. Tarte Tulip (P, $16.00) is less pigmented. MAC Elegant Accent (P, $22.00) is pinker. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Too Faced Country Star La Creme Lipstick
Too Faced Country Star La Creme Lipstick

Too Faced Country Star La Creme Lipstick ($22.00 for 0.11 oz.) is a warm-toned, medium peach with a glossy, luminous finish. MAC Enchanted One (LE, $16.00) is more matte. Chanel Satisfaction (89) (P, $34.00) is sheerer, lighter. YSL Tender Peach (26) (P, $34.00) is pinker, darker. Marc Jacobs Beauty Dizzy Spell (104) (P, $30.00) is similar. MAC Close Contact (LE, $16.00) is lighter. Givenchy Beige Plume (102) (P, $36.00) is darker, more matte, pinker. MAC Sweet & Sour (P, $16.00) is more matte. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

The La Creme formula has a slightly thicker, more emollient consistency normally, but this particular shade seemed extra slippery–it moved around quite bit, so it was difficult to get really even, smooth-looking color. When I pressed my lips together, it would create “lines” and push the product around. It had mostly opaque color coverage, and it was nicely hydrating while worn, but it was a high-maintenance lip color. It lasted for two and a half hours on me, and as it wore away, it did pull into lip lines somewhat. It’s a shame, as the color was quite the chameleon; I would stand in one room, and it would pink-tinged, and then in another, it would be peachy. It had a sweet, lemony scent but no discernible taste.

Too Faced Melted Berry Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick
Too Faced Melted Berry Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick

Too Faced Melted Berry Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick ($21.00 for 0.40 fl. oz.) is a brightened, dark, fuchsia-red with cool, blue undertones and a lightly glossed finish. It had insanely rich color payoff–a little goes quite a long way. The consistency is lightweight and very easy to apply for even coverage as it begins as a liquid. This shade lasted for eight hours well, and then a very long and lingering stain persisted for hours after. It was neither hydrating nor drying. Charlotte Tilbury Velvet Underground (P) is lighter. MAC Pleasure Bomb (LE, $16.00) is more matte, cooler-toned. Guerlain Provocative (863) (LE, $51.00) is warmer. Givenchy Fuchsia Irresistible (205) (P, $36.00) is cooler-toned. MAC Moxie (LE, $16.00) is lighter. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Too Faced Melted Fig Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick ($21.00 for 0.40 fl. oz.) is a purpled pink with subtle neutral-to-warm undertones and a glossy finish. It had fully opaque color coverage in a single pass, and it had a lightly glossy finish. This shade lasted for six and a half hours, and it left a stain behind. It was neither drying nor hydrating. MAC Goddess of the Sea (LE, $16.00) is more matte, darker. MAC Romantically Inclined (LE, $16.00) is more shimmery. MAC RiRi Boy (LE, $16.00) is brighter, purpler. MAC Up the Amp (P, $16.00) is brighter, purpler. MAC Bust Out (LE, $16.00) is sheerer. MAC Flaunting It (LE, $18.00) is lighter, cooler-toned. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Too Faced Melted Marshmallow Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick ($21.00 for 0.40 fl. oz.) is a light-medium, yellow-toned pink with a softly glossed finish. It also had rich, intense color payoff like the other two shades. The consistency made it easy to apply and spread out the color for an even, smooth result. This shade wears for five and a half hours on me, but it settles slightly into lip lines after three hours of wear. It was neither hydrating nor drying to wear. MAC Sweet Experience (LE, $16.00) is more matte. YSL Frivolous Pink (19) (DC, $34.00) is similar. MAC Vivid Image (LE, $16.00) is cooler-toned. Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Femme (P, $18.00) is similar. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Chanel Intime (93) Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick
Chanel Intime (93) Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick

Chanel Intime (93) Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick ($35.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “soft pink.” It’s a light-medium, pink-beige with warm undertones and a soft shine. It had sheer color coverage–it primarily lightened my natural lip color. It doesn’t apply as evenly as I’d like, and on me, it’s only lightly moisturizing. The color lasts two hours on me, which is below average for lipstick, though this is a more emollient, higher slip formula, so it’s not a surprise. Revlon Demure (105) (P, $8.99) is more matte. Tom Ford Beauty Summer Fling (04) (LE, $49.00) is pinker, more pigmented. YSL Nude Beige (1) (P, $34.00) is more opaque, lighter. Too Faced Taffy (P, $21.00) is more pigmented, warmer. Chanel Melba (75) (LE, $34.00) is more beige. Revlon Pink Lemonade (P, $7.49) is a touch lighter, less glossy. MAC Shy Shine (P, $16.00) is more pigmented, warmer, darker. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Chanel Confident (94) Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick ($35.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as an “intense rosewood.” It’s a medium, rosy brown with warm undertones and a soft shine. The color payoff was semi-sheer, so it did change the natural lip color but let a lot of it come through, so it may look different applied to you if you have more pigmented (or significantly different natural undertones) lips. The color lasted for two and a half hours and was lightly hydrating but applied well. Givenchy Nude Guipure (106) (P, $36.00) is more opaque, lighter. Givenchy Rose d’Exception (206) (LE, $36.00) is slightly pinker, more opaque. MAC Shanghai Spice (LE, $16.00) is browner. Guerlain Jicky (P, $35.00) is browner. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Chanel Viva (95) Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick ($35.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as an “intense fuchsia.” It’s a slightly brightened, medium-dark fuchsia pink with cool, blue undertones and a very faint shimmer and moderate shine. It had semi-opaque color coverage–more than most shades in this formula–and lasted for three and a half hours. It was lightly moisturizing while worn. My guess is “intense” is used to describe greater-than-normal pigmentation. MAC Good Taste (P, $22.00) is brighter. Bite Beauty Vigne (P, $24.00) is lighter. Tom Ford Beauty Incorrigible (08) (LE, $49.00) is brighter. MAC Quite the Thing! (LE, $17.00) is similar. MAC Heavenly Hybrid (LE, $16.00) is slightly more plum. Revlon Fuchsia Shock (P, $7.99) is a touch brighter. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Chanel Aura (96) Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick ($35.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “plum.” It’s a medium-dark, subtly warm-toned plum with a luminous shine. It had sheer color coverage that applied fairly evenly. It seemed to pull into lip lines over time (noticed after an hour of wear) and lasted three hours on me. It was lightly hydrating. Givenchy Violine Precieux (312) (LE, $36.00) is more matte, more opaque. MAC Sweet Succulence (LE, $16.00) is darker. Chanel Ce Soir (P, $34.00) is warmer. Chanel Destinee (P, $34.00) is cooler-toned. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

MAC Moody Blooms Sheen Supreme Lipsticks
MAC Moody Blooms Sheen Supreme Lipsticks

There are six shades of MAC Sheen Supreme Lipstick ($17.00 for 0.10 oz.) in the upcoming Moody Blooms collection. The formula has a light-medium weight to it, is quite slippery with some hydration. Some shades are more pigmented than others, and the coverage can be very smooth and glossy or more splotchy with darker shades.

Lust Extract is described as an “electric violet.” It’s a brightened, fuchsia magenta with a glossy sheen. It had semi-opaque color coverage, and it had a very creamy, slippery texture that glided on easily but doesn’t quite apply evenly. There was a time when this kind of color was harder to find, but it’s very prevalent now, so you may have something similar in your stash. This shade wore well on for three and a half hours and left a slight stain behind. Givenchy Rose Perfecto (209) (P, $36.00) is more opaque, a touch less blue-based. MAC Kelly Yum-Yum (LE, $16.00) is more matte. MAC Happy-Go-Lucky (LE, $16.00) is brighter, lighter. Sephora + Pantone Universe Radiant Rush (LE, $18.00) is darker. MAC Bold Spring (P, $22.00) is a touch lighter. Marc Jacobs Beauty Gossip (140) (LE, $30.00) is more matte. MAC Daddy’s Little Girl (LE, $16.00) is more matte. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Moody Bloom is described as a “bronze plum.” It’s a muted, warm-toned plum with hints of brown and bronze micro-shimmer. I think this is a color that’s going to look a little different on everyone, as it is semi-opaque with noticeable translucency. It wore well for four hours on me, and the consistency on this one was less slippery compared to Lust Extract. Tom Ford Beauty Bittersweet (03) (LE, $49.00) Bobbi Brown Plum Shimmer (3) (P, $25.00) Chanel Synopsis (P, $34.00) MAC One of a Kind (LE, $16.00) MAC Oh, Oh, Oh (LE, $16.00) See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Pheromonal is described as a “dark blue pink.” It’s a medium-dark, cool-toned pink with a luminous finish. There was very nearly opaque color coverage. It was easy to apply, sat well on the lips, and lasted for four hours. Givenchy Hibiscus Exclusif (302) (P, $36.00) is warmer, lighter. Chanel L’Amoureuse (47) (P, $34.00) is more muted, darker. MAC Good Taste (P, $22.00) is brighter, cooler-toned. Bite Beauty Vigne (P, $24.00) is slightly lighter. MAC Heavenly Hybrid (LE, $16.00) is a touch darker. Chanel Fougueuse (138) (P, $34.00) is lighter. Giorgio Armani #505 (LE, $32.00) is brighter. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Phosphorescent is described as a “electric pink coral.” It’s a medium-dark, slightly muted, coral-pink with warm undertones and a glossy sheen. It had mostly opaque color coverage with a creamy, glide-on consistency. This shade lasted for three and a half hours on me. It had mostly opaque pigmentation, and the color covered the lip evenly and smoothly with a good, glide-on texture. It wore well for three and a half hours. Givenchy Rose Boudoir (204) (P, $36.00) is warmer. Revlon Snow Peach (LE, $7.99) is lighter, warmer. MAC Be a Lady (P, $22.00) is lighter. Tom Ford Beauty Paradiso (07) (LE, $49.00) is warmer, brighter. Guerlain Attrape-Coeur (171) (LE, $35.00) is brighter. YSL Rose Neillia (33) (P, $34.00) is warmer, lighter. MAC Love Beam (LE, $20.00) is sheerer. Bobbi Brown Pink Peony (P, $24.00) is similar. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Quite the Thing! is described as a “deep blue plum.” It’s a medium-dark, muted fuchsia with brighter fuchsia shimmer. It had semi-opaque pigmentation, and it applied fairly evenly and smoothly. The color wore well for four hours on me. MAC Heavenly Hybrid (LE, $16.00) Revlon Fuchsia Shock (P, $7.99) Revlon Berry Couture (P, $7.99) Guerlain Extrait de Rose (P, $35.00) See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Venomous Violet is described as a “deep berry.” It’s a dark, subtly warm-toned burgundy with a glossy finish. It had a lot of slip, so it applied unevenly and did settle into lip lines. It was semi-sheer, which seemed to emphasize the poorer application. MAC Talk That Talk (LE, $16.00) is more matte, more opaque. NARS Vendanges (P, $26.00) is lighter. MAC Approaching Storm (LE, $18.00) is similar. MAC Dramatic Encounter (LE, $16.00) is darker, more opaque. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
