Kat Von D Noble Everlasting Liquid Lipstick
Kat Von D Noble Everlasting Liquid Lipstick

Kat Von D Noble Everlasting Liquid Lipstick ($20.00 for 0.22 fl. oz.) is described as a “petal pink nude.” It’s a brightened, light-medium peach with a hint of pink and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque coverage, but it was one of the harder-to-apply shades in the range. It was sheerer and thinner, so it was prone to streaking, but the formula would allow for you to apply a second coat to get better coverage out of it (and probably minimize some of the streaking). The color lasted for almost six hours, but it had more noticeably faded from the center after four hours for me, so it doesn’t fade as evenly as you’d like (especially with a lighter/brighter shade such as this one). It was slightly drying after four hours of wear. Burberry Pink Apricot (301) (P, $30.00) is darker, glossier. Melt Cosmetics Summer! (P, $19.00) is lighter, brighter, glossier. MAC Riot House (LE, $16.00) is lighter, brighter. Anastasia Pure Hollywood (P, $20.00) is cooler. Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lament (P, $18.00) is lighter, brighter, glossier. Maybelline Daringly Nude (P, $7.99) is darker, more muted, less glossy. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Kat Von D Bow ‘n’ Arrow Everlasting Liquid Lipstick ($20.00 for 0.22 fl. oz.) is described as a “fawn nude.” It’s a muted, medium-dark beige-brown with neutral-to-warm undertones and an ultra matte finish. It had mostly opaque color payoff that applied evenly and smoothly. It was soft when dried, and it didn’t “crack” or look split down the lip lines after it dried down. The drying time was a little faster than many other shades I’ve tried from the formula. The color lasted for six and a half hours on me with little breakdown but was slightly drying after the fifth hour of wear. MAC Velvet Teddy (P, $16.00) is warmer, glossier. Burberry Antique Pink (303) (P, $30.00) is cooler, glossier. MAC Nude (LE, $16.00) is darker, glossier. MAC Whirl (P, $16.00) is darker, warmer. MAC Stone (P, $16.00) is darker, cooler. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

FORMULA SUMMARY | Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick ($20.00 for 0.22 fl. oz.) is supposed to be a “long-wear, full coverage liquid lipstick with a smooth, matte finish.” Of the liquid lipsticks on the market that go and have a full dry-down, Kat Von D’s formula remains my favorite, as it is the easiest to apply with the kindest learning curve and lasts awhile. Some shades are more drying than others, but typically they don’t get drying until after five to six hours of wear. They often wear anywhere from six to ten hours, depending on what you’ve had to eat or drink during the day. This formula is thin but not watery, has a longer dry down than most liquid lipsticks (but I noticed some of the newer shades dried to a mostly dry finish faster), and layers better than most (you can touch-up or add a second layer for more coverage). It takes about a minute for it to mostly set, but it will remain a little tacky in places for up to three minutes so you’ll want to avoid pressing your lips together if it doesn’t seem totally dry initially. There isn’t a noticeable scent or taste. If you don’t mind the trade-off between very long, near-pristine wear and being drying, it’s worth checking out. As a bonus, these also come with one of the most generous amounts of products within the realm of liquid lipsticks!

Bite Beauty Maple Matte Creme Lipsticks
Bite Beauty Maple Matte Creme Lipsticks

Bite Beauty Sugared Maple Matte Creme Lipstick ($28.00 CDN for 0.15 oz.) is a medium-dark, berry-plum with cool undertones and a luminous sheen. It seemed to have a very, very light dusting of fine pearl, but it was so subtle, I thought I might be imagining it. It had semi-opaque pigmentation with a thinner, more slippery consistency compared to other shades in the launch. It didn’t slide around as much as it could have, so it looked mostly even. The color lasted for six and a half hours and was lightly hydrating–but again, not at all matte (not even satin). Illamasqua Shard (P, $24.00) is less glossy. Burberry Bright Plum (15) (P, $30.00) is warmer. Illamasqua Shard (P, $24.00) is less glossy. MAC What Joy (LE, $16.00) is warmer. MAC What Joy (LE, $16.00) is warmer. YSL Forbidden Burgundy (12) (P, $34.00) is lighter. Marc Jacobs Beauty Cabaret (146) (LE, $30.00) is lighter, more muted, less glossy. Inglot #293 Lipstick Cream (P, $12.00) is darker. Bite Beauty Aubergine (P, $24.00) is lighter. Gucci Beauty Bitter Grape (P, $39.00) is more shimmery, lighter. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Bite Beauty Warmed Maple Matte Creme Lipstick ($28.00 CDN for 0.15 oz.) is a brightened, tangerine orange with warm, yellow undertones and a satiny sheen. It was one of the more “matte” shades in the collection of five, though it isn’t truly matte. It had rich, opaque color payoff in a single stroke, while the texture was creamy, light-medium in weight and thickness, and very comfortable to wear. The formula was hydrating over the five and a half hours this shade lasted. Inglot #103 Lipstick Cream (P, $12.00) is darker. MAC Morange (P, $16.00) is lighter. Inglot #103 Lipstick Cream (P, $12.00) is darker. Milani Sweet Nectar (P, $5.49) is less glossy. Urban Decay Bang (P, $22.00) is darker, less glossy. MAC Tomango (LE, $16.00) is darker, less glossy. NARS Geraldine (P, $32.00) is lighter, brighter. NARS Timanfaya (P, $25.00) is lighter, less glossy. Illamasqua Soaked (P, $26.00) is lighter, brighter, glossier. NARS Iberico (LE, $25.00) is less glossy. MAC Love Feeling (LE, $20.00) is darker, more muted, less pigmented. Estee Lauder Daring (P, $30.00) is lighter. MAC Neon Orange (LE, $16.00) is darker, less glossy. MAC Fashion Nomad (LE, $16.00) is lighter. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

FORMULA SUMMARY | Bite Beauty Maple Matte Creme Lipstick ($24.00 for 0.15 oz.) is supposed to leave a “velvet, soft focus finish” with “highly pigmented, moisturizing wearable color” that is also “longwearing.” If you’re not a fan of mattes, don’t fret, these aren’t really matte (and if you’re a fan of matte, you might want to keep looking). There are five shades, and all of them have a satin or glossier finish (two are pretty glossy). The glossier the shade, the more poorly it applied with streaky, uneven coverage that was prone to feathering along the edges of the natural lip, while the more satiny shades were more pigmented with more even application and longer, better wear. On me, I found the formula to be lightly to moderately hydrating with wear ranging between four and seven hours. The formula has a sweet, maple scent with a very subtle, almost sweet taste. These are exclusive to Canada.

P.S. — Big thanks to Julie over at Swatch & Review for helping me buy these! :)

Laura Geller Love Me Dew Moisturizing Lip Crayon Trio
Laura Geller Love Me Dew Moisturizing Lip Crayon Trio

Laura Geller Love Me Dew Moisturizing Lip Crayon Trio ($25.00 for 0.30 oz.) includes three shades of jumbo-sized lip pencils that twist-up. The formula is supposed to be “ultra-hydrating” with “shiny color,” and it’s pretty much tinted lip balm. I believe this is the first time I’ve tried this formula, but I enjoyed them overall. They have sheer to semi-sheer that’s buildable, wears three to four hours, and is hydrating over time. I like that they twist-up, so you don’t have to worry about wasting product when sharpening. The texture is lightweight with moderate slip, so their biggest downfall is that they don’t always look perfectly even. The formula is vanilla-scented but the scent didn’t linger or translate into a taste for me. Dragon Fruit Sorbet and Mango Sorbet are both available as permanent singles, while I didn’t see Fig Prosecco on Laura Geller’s website, and they retail for $16 as a standalone formula (so the kit is worth $48).

Fig Prosecco is a softened, peachy-brown with warm undertones and very fine, golden peach pearl. It had semi-opaque coverage that went on evenly and smoothly while hydrating the lips over the three and a half hours it lasted. Guerlain Gracieuse (DC, $51.00) is darker. MAC Posh Tone (P, $22.00) is less shimmery. NARS Peloponnese (P, $26.00) is darker, brighter, less glossy. shu uemura OB Dream Orange (LE, $30.00) is glossier. Maybelline Stormy Sahara (945) (P, $7.49) is less shimmery. Givenchy Beige Caraco (107) (P, $36.00) is less shimmery, lighter. Bite Beauty Caramel (P, $28.00) is lighter. Charlotte Tilbury Hepburn Honey (P, $32.00) is less shimmery, lighter. bareMinerals Fall in Love (LE, $20.00) is less shimmery, darker. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Mango Sorbet is a muted, medium pink-coral with warm undertones and a glossy sheen. It had sheer coverage that gave lips more of a tinted/stained appearance, while the glossier finish made lips appear plumper. It wore well for three hours but was hydrating over time. MAC Play It Soft (LE, $20.00) is cooler. Estee Lauder Charmed (P, $30.00) is more pigmented. Estee Lauder Surreal Sun (P, $30.00) is brighter, more pigmented. Givenchy Corail Decollete (206) (P, $36.00) is less glossy. MAC Call the Hairdresser! (LE, $16.00) is more pigmented. NYX Haute Melon (P, $4.00) is more pigmented. Chanel Boheme (91) (P, $35.00) is glossier. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Dragon Fruit Sorbet is a brightened, fuchsia pink with cool, blue undertones and a glossy finish. It had semi-sheer coverage that applied easily without dragging. There was a little extra slip to this one, so it seemed to show “lines” if you pressed your lips together (I’d recommend applying a little less and pressing lips together to check). It wore well for almost four hours on me and was moisturizing while worn. MAC Glamorized (LE, $20.00) is lighter. Chanel Jean (454) (P, $36.00) is less glossy. Urban Decay Ladyflower (LE, $22.00) is more pigmented, less glossy. MAC Boutique Pink (LE, $22.00) is lighter, brighter. MAC Lust Extract (LE, $17.00) is lighter, brighter. MAC Bold Spring (P, $22.00) is lighter, brighter. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

MAC Sophisticate Face Kit
MAC Sophisticate Face Kit

MAC Sophisticate Face Kit ($49.50 for 0.43 oz.) includes six eyeshadows, two blushes, and two lipsticks. Worth pointing out right away is that the back of my palette says the second blush on the left is Simply Bliss, whereas Nordstrom’s product listing had Cream Soda in its place; I checked both of them, and the blush in this palette is slightly more pink-tinted and a little lighter but not by much.

Linda is described as a “peachy tan shimmer.” It’s a muted, medium-dark orange-copper with hints of brown and warmer undertones paired with a pearly sheen. It was slightly powdery with semi-opaque coverage that wore for eight hours. Becca Songbird (P, $32.00) is more shimmery, lighter. Becca Rose Gold (P, $41.00) is less shimmery, lighter. Becca Blushed Copper (LE, $38.00) is less shimmery, lighter, darker. Illamasqua Expose (P, $26.00) is less shimmery, darker, more pigmented. MAC Coppertone (P, $21.00) is less shimmery, darker, cooler. MAC Blazing Haute (LE, $25.00) is more shimmery, lighter. NARS Soulshine #2 (LE, $30.00) is more shimmery, cooler. NARS Gina (P, $30.00) is darker. MAC Eternal Sun (P, $23.50) is darker, more muted. Colour Pop Bonus (P, $8.00) is less shimmery, darker, brighter. MAC Seduced at Sea (LE, $25.00) is more shimmery, darker. NARS Frenzy (Right) (P, ) is more shimmery, darker. MAC Pleasure Model (LE, $25.00) is darker. MAC Bad Girl Gone Good (LE, $21.00) is darker. View dupes side-by-side.

Simply Bliss is described as a “light neutral coral.” It’s a muted, light-medium peachy-coral with warm undertones and a mostly matte finish. It darkens as it is applied to the bare skin, so unless you have very dry skin and/or powder prior, it may do the same. The texture was slightly powdery but blendable with good pigmentation. It lasted for seven and a half hours on me. MAC Ripe Peach (LE, $32.00) is darker. MAC Ripe Peach (LE, $32.00) is darker. Illamasqua Flirtatious (LE, $26.00) is darker, glossier. MAC Cream Soda (LE, $21.00) is darker, warmer. Illamasqua Flirtatious (LE, $26.00) is darker, glossier. MAC Immortal Flower (LE, $21.00) is darker. MAC Corol #1 (LE, $21.00) is lighter. MAC Immortal Flower (LE, $21.00) is darker. MAC Corol #1 (LE, $21.00) is lighter. Makeup Geek Bliss (P, $9.99) is darker. Makeup Geek Bliss (P, $9.99) is darker. bareMinerals The Spring Fling (LE, $22.00) is lighter. Chanel Caresse (180) (LE, $45.00) is darker, more muted. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Dance in the Dark is described as a “deep blackened plum.” It’s a very dark brown with subtle, cooler undertones and a mostly matte finish. It is firm, stiff, and hard to work with and lasted for seven hours. Zoeva Beans are White (P, ) is darker. Too Faced Risque (P, $16.00) is darker, cooler. Tarte Ice Cream Cone (LE, ) is . Tarte Dim the Lights (LE, ) is warmer. Hourglass Infinity #5 (P, ) is darker, less pigmented, more shimmery. Giorgio Armani #08 (P, $32.00) is darker. Tarte Wind Down Brown (LE, ) is . Anastasia Deep Brown (P, $12.00) is warmer. LORAC Espresso (Mega Pro) (LE, ) is darker. Charlotte Tilbury The Rock Chick #4 (P, ) is warmer. Urban Decay Undone (LE, $18.00) is darker, more pigmented, less shimmery. Chanel Charming #5 (LE, ) is lighter. NARS Bali (P, $24.00) is darker. Guerlain Calligraphy #4 (LE, ) is lighter. theBalm Matt Ramirez (LE, $16.00) is lighter, warmer. View dupes side-by-side.

Sun Tweaked is a light-medium, peachy-beige with warm undertones and a frosted finish. It had good pigmentation with a soft, blendable texture that wore for eight hours. Viseart Orange Topaz (P, ) is less shimmery, darker. NARS Outer Limits (LE, $24.00) is less shimmery, darker, more pigmented. Makeup Geek In the Spotlight (P, $9.99) is less shimmery. bareMinerals Shazam (LE, ) is lighter. MAC Mortal #2 (LE, ) is cooler. View dupes side-by-side.

Wedge is described as a “soft muted beige taupe.” It’s a muted, medium yellowed brown with a matte finish. It seems a bit lighter than the permanent version of Wedge to me. It had sheerer coverage with a dusty texture. The color lasted for seven hours on me. Urban Decay Naked (P, $18.00) is less pigmented, more pigmented. Jane Rock Star (DC, ) is lighter. Kat Von D Harlow (P, ) is darker. Ulta Sable (, ) is less shimmery. theBalm C3 (LE, $16.00) is darker, less pigmented, more muted, lighter. View dupes side-by-side.

With Flair is a muted, coppery-brown with warm undertones and a frosted sheen. It had nice pigmentation with a fairly soft, blendable texture, but it was a smidgen dry, which made it a challenge to work with on bare lids. It wore for seven and a half hours on me. Make Up For Ever D708 Pinky Copper (P, $21.00) is lighter. Makeup Geek Roulette (P, $5.99) is darker. MAC Red Alert (LE, $16.00) is less shimmery, darker. MAC Gingersnap (P, $16.00) is less shimmery, darker. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Beautifully Charred is described as a “deep brown with pearl.” It’s a slightly muted, dark brown with warmer undertones and a soft, pearly sheen. It had great color payoff with a soft, blendable texture that was easy to apply and lasted for eight hours. Tarte Bastille in the Night (LE, ) is warmer. Inglot #409 (P, $6.00) is more shimmery, lighter. Charlotte Tilbury Mona Lisa (P, $32.00) is more shimmery. Anastasia Baby I’m a Star (LE, $12.00) is warmer. bareMinerals Embellish (LE, ) is more shimmery. Too Faced Obsessed (P, ) is darker. Marc Jacobs Beauty The Starlet #3 (P, ) is more shimmery, warmer. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Hey is described as a “nude shimmer.” It’s a light peach with warm undertones and a frosted finish. It had fairly good color payoff with a blendable texture but wasn’t quite as soft in the pan (almost firm, but it worked okay). It wore well for eight hours on me. Too Faced Cherish (P, ) is lighter. Dior Ambre Nuit #1 (LE, ) is more shimmery. Charlotte Tilbury The Dolce Vita #1 (P, ) is cooler. MAC A Natural Flirt (P, $20.00) is darker, warmer. Make Up For Ever I520 Pinky Sand (P, $21.00) is more shimmery. Make Up For Ever S516 Sand (P, $21.00) is darker. Tarte Rose Champagne (LE, ) is cooler. Stila Kitten (P, ) is warmer. Tom Ford Beauty Unabashed Eyeshadow #1 (LE, ) is less shimmery. Urban Decay Sin (DC, $20.00) is darker. Kat Von D Precious (LE, ) is lighter, cooler. Stila Kitten (, $18.00) is . Disney by Sephora Splendid (LE, ) is more shimmery. MAC Summer Haze (LE, $21.00) is more shimmery, darker, more muted. Marc Jacobs Beauty The Starlet #2 (P, ) is more shimmery. View dupes side-by-side.

Love Happens is described as a “warm light nude.” It’s a light-medium peach with a hint if pink and warmer undertones paired with a satin finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that felt a little dry and clingy on the lips. There was some color that settled into lip lines within the first half hour, and it worsened over the three hours it wore for. It was slightly drying. Givenchy Beige Mousseline (101) (P, $36.00) is darker, warmer. MAC She’s a Peach (LE, $16.00) is lighter, brighter. MAC Antonio’s Girls (LE, $16.00) is darker. NARS Biscayne Park (P, $25.00) is darker. Maybelline Barely Bloomed (700) (P, $7.49) is lighter, brighter. Bite Beauty Amaretto (P, $24.00) is darker, warmer, better quality. Tom Ford Beauty Beau (LE, $32.00) is lighter, brighter. Marc Jacobs Beauty Pout (142) (LE, $30.00) is glossier. MAC What’s Haute? (LE, $16.00) is lighter. MAC Close Contact (LE, $16.00) is warmer. MAC Pretty Natural (LE, $16.00) is lighter, cooler. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

True Red is described as a “vivid bright coral red.” It’s a brightened, medium-dark orange-red with warm undertones and a satin finish. NARS Ultimate NARS Lip Pencil Set
NARS Ultimate NARS Lip Pencil Set

NARS Ultimate NARS Lip Pencil Set ($49.00 for 0.21 oz.) includes three full-sized Lip Pencils. Two are part of the permanent range (Biscayne Park and Sex Machine) and one was previously released (but limited edition, Stourhead). This was a less impressive set, unfortunately, as two shades settled into lip lines due to more slippery consistencies.

Stourhead is described as a “pale lavender pink.” It’s a very light, milky pink with cool undertones and a satin finish. It had semi-opaque coverage that pulled into lip lines horribly and looked streaky on. It lasted for almost three hours, but it looked so bad by the end. MAC Bianca B (LE, $16.00) is darker, less pigmented, glossier, more muted. MAC Weekend 1 (LE, $16.00) is darker, cooler. Tom Ford Beauty Olivier (LE, $32.00) is less shimmery. MAC To Savour (P, $23.00) is cooler. MAC Dress to Impress (LE, $16.00) is lighter, less glossy. MAC Rose Lily (LE, $16.00) is lighter. MAC Beauty (LE, $16.00) is lighter, more muted. Bobbi Brown Orchid Pink (LE, $23.00) is darker, more muted, more pigmented, less shimmery, less glossy, brighter, warmer, lighter. Chanel Candeur (P, $35.00) is lighter, more muted. MAC Raspberry Swirl (LE, $16.00) is darker, cooler. Chanel Radieuse (217) (LE, $34.00) is darker, warmer. View dupes side-by-side for comparisons here.

Biscayne Park is described as a “pink guava.” It’s a peachy-brown with a soft sheen and warm undertones. The texture felt creamier and had more slip than my original version of this, and it resulted in semi-opaque coverage (instead of full) and seemed to settle into lip lines noticeably from the beginning. It lasted for three and a half hours on me. Maybelline Nude Embrace (P, $7.99) is darker. MAC She’s a Peach (LE, $16.00) is darker, cooler. Bite Beauty Cream (P, $28.00) is less glossy. MAC Soft Pout (P, $23.00) is less glossy. Charlotte Tilbury Hepburn Honey (P, $32.00) is lighter. Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lament (P, $18.00) is darker. Givenchy Beige Caraco (107) (P, $36.00) is more muted. Too Faced Melted Nude (P, $21.00) is darker. Urban Decay Naked 2 (P, $22.00) is . Givenchy Beige Mousseline (101) (P, $36.00) is warmer. MAC Posh Tone (P, $22.00) is darker. MAC Sweet & Sour (P, $16.00) is warmer. Maybelline Truffle Tease (930) (P, $7.49) is brighter, warmer. MAC Cozy Up (LE, $16.00) is warmer. Sex Machine is described as a “must-have mauve.” It’s a muted, medium-dark pinky-plum with neutral-to-warm undertones and a lightly metallic sheen over a mostly matte finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation with a thin, soft formula that didn’t drag, but it did feel a little clingy and was drying over the four and a half hours it lasted. NARS Catfight (P, $26.00) is lighter, cooler. Make Up For Ever #12 (P, $19.00) is more shimmery, darker, brighter, cooler. Tom Ford Beauty Pussycat (04) (P, $50.00) is less shimmery, brighter. Colour Pop Solow (P, $6.00) is less shimmery, lighter, warmer. NARS Anna (P, $32.00) is less shimmery, cooler. Surratt Beauty Celestine (P, $34.00) is more shimmery, lighter. MAC Boca (LE, $16.00) is less glossy, lighter. Bite Beauty Sable (LE, $24.00) is darker, less glossy. Kat Von D Lovecraft (P, $21.00) is warmer. NARS Anita (P, $32.00) is less glossy. Dolce and Gabbana Petal (135) (P, $33.00) is darker, less glossy. Givenchy Nude Guipure (106) (P, $36.00) is less glossy. Givenchy Nude Guipure (106) (P, $36.00) is less glossy. Make Up For Ever #4 (P, $19.00) is darker. Burberry Peony Rose (302) (P, $30.00) is darker, warmer. View dupes side-by-side for comparisons here.
