OCC Femme Nail Lacquer

OCC Femme Nail Lacquer ($8.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is described as “shimmering flamingo pink.” It is designed to match Femme Lip Tar. It’s a softened yellow-toned pink with pearly white shimmer. The finish ends up slightly metallic with minor brush strokes that look like strands of shimmer pulled through the color. Femme appears warmer and contains shimmer when compared to China Glaze EmpowermentChanel Mistral is a closer dupe, but it has larger, but sparsely placed, sparkles.

Rescue Beauty Lounge Pepto Pink Nail Lacquer

Rescue Beauty Lounge Pepto Pink Nail Lacquer ($18.00 for 0.40 fl. oz.) doesn’t have much in the way of an official description, but I suppose with a name like Pepto Pink, is it really necessary? It’s a brightened, medium-dark pink with a thin consistency that’s a little streaky on the first and second coats. It needs a third coat to bring it together, though I still had some visible nail line after three. The formula didn’t do it for me, which was disappointing, because the RBL formula is often worth shelling out for, but it wasn’t here.

OCC Pool Boy Nail Lacquer

In a very unlikely hue for fall, OCC Pool Boy Nail Lacquer ($8.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) nevertheless makes its debut in OCC’s Pretty Boy Collection. Given that fall launches start rolling out halfway through our real summer, this beautiful blue is still quite welcome. It’s described simply as a “creme blue.” It’s not quite neon, but it’s not a softer, robin’s egg blue either. There’s a vibrancy in the hue that borders on cyan but still it is tempered by the creaminess of the color overall. It’s more like a sky blue with a hint of aqua in it. I think the yellow tones of my skin make it appear less sky blue–perhaps in cooler skintones you’ll find the blue tones are pulled out of it more.

Sinful Colors HD Nails (926) Nail Lacquer

Sinful Colors HD Nails (926) Nail Lacquer ($2.50 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is a grassy green with a subtle cool undertone and silver shimmer. It’s still on the sheer side after three coats–you can definitely see the nail line. The finish has a slight metallic feel to it, so there are noticeable brush strokes (but they’re “as expected” for a more metallic finish). Zoya’s Apple seemed to be the closest shade I had to compare to, but Apple is a yellower green with lots of gold sparkle.

Deborah Lippmann Brick House Nail Lacquer

FYI, the bottle I received was chipped and fractured, which is why I photographed the bottle over bubble wrap.   The majority of the polish was intact, so I was still able to swatch it, but while attempting to save it, more glass broke off, and it was a lost cause! The bottles weren’t individually bubble-wrapped, so they were allowed to clink against each other. I receive a lot of polishes this way, but surprisingly, I’ve only had a handful (I can only distinctly remember two) break–go figure. I swear, if I ever shipped nail polish that way, everything would arrive shattered!
