ColourPop Lovely, On the Rocks, Mooning, Bandit Super Shock Shadows

ColourPop Lovely Super Shock Shadow ($5.00 for 0.07 oz.) is described as a “soft light gold with … flecks of … glitter.” It’s a sparkling, light-medium gold with a glittery, metallic finish. It had semi-opaque color payoff, though the consistency was very smooth and lightly creamy, so it blended well on the skin. The color payoff was buildable to more opaque coverage, but there’s a fine line as you build to avoid it thickening as well. It lasted for nine hours but had noticeable fall out. ColourPop Deluxe, Rebel, Selfie, XO Super Shock Shadows

ColourPop Shaaanxo Super Shock Shadow Set ($20.00 for 4 x 0.07 oz.) includes four earth-toned shades of cream eyeshadow. The four shades worked well together, and they could easily be used with other shades in the ColourPop formula. Three of the four performed very well, while the matte green fell short (though not a complete miss).

Giorgio Armani Obsidian & Senso Eye Tints

Giorgio Armani Obsidian (01) Eye Tint ($38.00 for 0.22 fl. oz.) is a deepened black with cool undertones and multi-colored fine shimmer that creates a satin finish. It was semi-opaque and was buildable to opaque color if desired with two layers. The consistency was thin, lightweight, blendable, and easily spread on the skin. It wore well for fourteen hours before creasing slightly. LORAC Caviar (LE)is warmer. MAC A Waft of Grey #4 (P, $21.00) is lighter. Anna Sui Diamond Blue (LE) is lighter. Illamasqua Zeitgeist (P, $25.50) is less shimmery. bareMinerals Penthouse (LE) is less shimmery. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Giorgio Armani Jade, Shadow, Minuit Eye Tints

Giorgio Armani Minuit (02) Eye Tint ($38.00 for 0.22 fl. oz.) is a deepened navy blue with a satin finish. I would almost describe it as a pearl finish, but it doesn’t have that pearly sheen, yet it has a bit more shimmer than your traditional satin finish has. It was nicely pigmented with a thin, lightweight consistency that spread well and blended easily. On me, the color wore well for almost fourteen hours (out of the 16-hours promised), which was quite long, and I didn’t have any issues with fall out with this one (not surprising, given it isn’t sparkly).
Colour Pop Etiquette (P, $5.00) is lighter. Kat Von D Estrella (LE) is lighter. LORAC Navy #6 (LE) is more shimmery. Chanel Metamorphose (44) #4 (LE) is similar. MAC Shop & Drop (LE, $15.00) is darker. Le Metier de Beaute Midnight Sky (P, $30.00) is darker. bareMinerals Climax (P) is a touch lighter. Bobbi Brown Blue Onyx (LE) is darker. Giorgio Armani Onyx, Green Iron, Emeraude Eye Tints

Giorgio Armani Eye Tint ($38.00 for 0.22 fl. oz.) is a “fluid eyeshadow” that is supposed to be a long-wearing (“16-hour staying power)’ with “deep and intense color.” When they work, they work well, but there is a definite learning curve with the formula. I noticed that sometimes when I pulled the doe-foot applicator out of the tube for a few shades, the consistency was thinner and more watery, and other times, it was almost clumpy with product, though it never felt genuinely thick. If it is more watery than not, it can apply somewhat sheer, but if it is normal (because a more watery pull was more infrequent), it applied beautifully with rich, opaque color coverage (which was what happened most of the time with most shades). It is imperative to spread out the product with a smooth, even layer, or else it can add a textured (read: wrinkled, scaly, etc.) look to the lid.

ColourPop Truth, Smash, Desert, 3, Doe-a-Deer Super Shock Shadows

ColourPop Truth Super Shock Shadow ($5.00 for 0.07 oz.) is described as a “neutral light beige.” It’s a light beige with warm undertones and a pearly sheen. It had good color payoff with a soft, blendable consistency that worked well on the lid and didn’t sheer out (though it was easy to diffuse the edges) too readily. It started to crease on me slightly after nine hours. I also really like this one (personally) on my brow bone, so it’s been a new go-to for me when I test out other ColourPop shades, as when you sheer it out (on purpose), it gives a subtle sheen.
