Neutral Makeup: More Soft Browns from Warm & Cozy

More Natural Makeup with MAC Warm & Cozy

Here’s another simple look I did with Warm & Cozy. There’s really not much to it! I just wanted something easy, functional, and neutral. I thought about wearing By Candlelight in this look, but MAC’s mineralize products tend to break me out, so I didn’t want to risk it over the holidays. I just went with my new favorite Sugarbomb instead! πŸ™‚

You will need the following…

Directions: Start by applying MAC Nurture shadestick as your eyeshadow base all over the lid with the 249. Using the 239, apply Chamomile eyeshadow on the inner third of the eyelid. Next, apply Expensive Pink eyeshadow on the middle third of the eyelid and lightly blend with the inner corner. Darken the outer third of the lid with Modelette eyeshadow with the 239, gently brushing it into the lower crease. Next, define the crease by applying Mulled Cider eyeshadow with the 226. Lightly tap and brush Modelette eyeshadow directly above the crease to soften. To finish the eyeshadow look, sweep Chamomile eyeshadow as a highlighter on the brow bone. Bring everything together by applying Urban Decay Underground Liner on the lower lash line, and then sweeping lashes with Dior DiorShow Extase mascara.

For cheeks, apply Benefit Sugarbomb powder to the apples of cheeks with the 116.

For lips, apply Warm Me Up lipstick first, and then layer D’Nouveau lipgloss for soft, neutral lips.

Spring Makeup: Light Pinks & Purples

Winter-into-Spring Blossoms with Guerlain Jeu d’Ombrelles

Happy Friday, everyone! πŸ™‚ This is a look using the two new, limited edition products from Guerlain’s Cherry Blossom Collection: Jeu d’Ombrelles Eyeshadow Quad and Cherry Blossom Blush.

Surprisingly, the eyeshadow quad and blush don’t go together quite as much as I thought they would–the blush is warmer than the quad, which is why they require more work to wear simultaneously.Β  I think I managed to get them to work together for the most part, but they didn’t go together as easily as I anticipated.

You will need the following…

Directions

For eyes, start by applying MAC Soft Ochre paint pot as your eyeshadow base all over the lid with the 249. Using the 239, apply Guerlain Jeu d’Ombrelles Eyeshadow Quad (pink) on the inner third of the eyelid. Next, apply Guerlain Jeu d’Ombrelles Eyeshadow Quad (medium purple) on the middle third of the eyelid and lightly blend with the inner corner. Darken the outer third of the lid with Guerlain Jeu d’Ombrelles Eyeshadow Quad (dark purple) with the 239, gently brushing it into the lower crease. Next, define the crease by applying Guerlain Jeu d’Ombrelles Eyeshadow Quad (dark purple) with the 226. Lightly tap and brush Guerlain Jeu d’Ombrelles Eyeshadow Quad (pink) directly above the crease to soften. To finish the eyeshadow look, sweep Guerlain Jeu d’Ombrelles Eyeshadow Quad (white) as a highlighter on the brow bone.Β  Bring everything together by applying Urban Decay 1999 Liner on the lower lash line, and gently tap Guerlain Jeu d’Ombrelles Eyeshadow Quad (pink) on the lower lash line with the 219.Β Β  Finish by applying Lancome Plum Tease Artliner on upper lash line with the 208, and then sweeping lashes with Chanel Exceptionnel mascara (black).

For cheeks, apply Guerlain Cherry Blossom Blush to the apples of the cheeks and sweep upwards towards the temple with the 129.

For lips, apply MAC Prive Lipstick first, and then layer MAC Preciousness Lipgloss for a glossy sheen.

Look: Stila All Doll’d Up Palette – Pink & Purple Eyes

Here’s another look using the from Stila! πŸ™‚ I also tried to fit in some purply-lips, too. I probably wouldn’t re-use the lip combination with this look — there’s just not enough of the eggplant-y purple showing through to tie them together. I’d most likely go for a lighter, paler pinky lip with a sheer purple gloss on top for a slight purple cast instead. Live and learn! πŸ™‚

You will need the following…

  • Eyes: Soft Ochre paint pot (neutral beige base), Stila All Doll’d Up Eyeshadow Palette (champagne, pink, and purple), MAC Fig. 1 eyeshadow (eggplant-burgundy), MAC Femme-Fi eyeshadow (highlighter), Stila Purple Pumps Smudge Pot (purple), Plushlash mascara (black)
  • Cheeks: MAC Blooming blush (pale pink)
  • Lips: MAC Up the Amp lipstick (purple), MAC Violetta lipstick (bright fuchsia-purple), MAC Negligee lipglass (light purple)
  • Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 226 (fluffy crease brush), 219 (pointed crease brush), 214 (smudge brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
  • Substitutes: Substitute Stila shades for MAC Retrospeck, Pink Venus, Parfait Amour; Blooming = Well Dressed; Negligee = Luminary + Violet pigment

Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply MAC Soft Ochre paint pot all over the lid as the base with the 249. On the inner lid, pack Stila’s champagne eyeshadow on using the 239. Apply Stila’s light pink eyeshadow to the middle and outer portions of the lid. Darken the outer lid with Stila’s purple eyeshadow using the 226, then deepen with MAC Fig. 1 eyeshadow with the 219. Sweep Femme-fi eyeshadow underneath the brow bone to highlight. Finish with Stila Purple Pumps Smudge Pot on lower lash line, and apply Plushlash mascara on lashes. Sweep apples of cheeks with MAC Blooming blush using the 129. Apply MAC Up the Amp lipstick to lips, and then layer MAC Violetta lipstick on top, and then finish with MAC Negligee lipglass for color and shine.
