I did this look yesterday :) Just trying to use Bright Future from Style Warrior & make it work for me! It’s better than the last round, but in truth, it doesn’t top Going Bananas or Bright Sunshine — I’d prefer both of those over Bright Future. I find Chrome Yellow to be hard to wear, because it is so yellow, and I think the same issue is here with Bright Future.

Apply Firespot eyeshadow to the middle and outer portions of the lid. Overlay outer lid with Coppering eyeshadow. Darken crease with Rule eyeshadow using the 226, then deepen with Texture eyeshadow with the 219. Sweep Soft Force eyeshadow underneath the brow bone to highlight. Finish with Urban Decay Lucky Liner on lower lash line. Apply Plushlash mascara on lashes. Sweep apples of cheeks with Eversun blush using the 129, then highlight with Dior Amber Diamond Skin Shimmer with the 188. Apply Brave New Bronze lipstick to lips, and then top with Tartlette lipglass for color and shine.

This was a really quick Style Warrior look I put together the other day. I don’t think Night Manoeuvers is a very flattering color on me — at least in this pairing! Here’s a MAC Style Warrior look! I did false eyelashes again (hey, when you’ve spent four years attempting without success, and you can manage it… you keep trying!), but I used knockoff #7s instead, and they were just too long, IMO. I ended up removing them, because the length was a bit obnoxious. I did pick up some new #7s at MAC last week, so hopefully I can keep applying lashes as I need to in the future! :)

What’s everyone doing this weekend? It’s a ridiculously beautiful (and hot!) weekend here in California. We’ll have to find a way to do something outside to enjoy it! :)

This look is from last week — March 30th, to be exact — so still pretty much prior to getting hit with the nasty cold bug. I did a look this morning, and would you believe that it’s a similar look to this? I was like, “Geez, I finally put on makeup while I’m sick, and I end up doing the same thing!!” It was a little frustrating ;) My wiggle-worm (aka Mellan) keeps wiggling onto my lap insisting I stop posting and get to feeding him, LOL. The horseback ride was pretty nice, though I can certainly feel it today! I call it the “Triangle of Pain,” because you feel it on about three points at the seat of your pants. It’s not fun. I’m praying that the Zipline harness doesn’t overlap those points, because I imagine the harness itself might make me a bit sore, too! I told the boy that when I came home, I’d be an “Octagon of Pain.” Hawaii’s been great for the most part, but I haven’t slept well at all, so it’s starting to take a toll on me! I keep going to bed and getting that sleep where you wake up 20 times, and each time you do, you feel like you never even went to sleep at all!

The look I’m sharing with you today is what I wore to go horseback riding. It seemed like it was going to be a good day, weather-wise, and sure enough, perfect! Breezy and not too humid or hot aka my makeup wouldn’t slide off the first step I took outside. Today, I’m going to go pretty bare-faced for the Zipline adventure (we picked the 8am time slot), but I’ll put on my “real” face later, LOL.

I think brushes are essential to good makeup, but expensive brushes are NOT essential to good makeup. I used a cheap random brush I found at my boyfriend’s mom’s house (of all things I forgot, I forgot my 239!) to apply this look. It didn’t go on as pigmented, perhaps, as it would have with the 239, but I got a lovely soft look that worked just as well. Even though the brush was cheap (and it wasn’t even really the right brush to use for shadow application, LOL), it felt relatively soft and worked out. So, moral of the story? Quality brushes can be found to fit any budget.

I used Soft Ochre paint pot on lid, Goin’ Bananas eyeshadow (LE) on inner lid, Evening Aura eyeshadow (LE) on middle of lid, Espresso eyeshadow on outer lid and crease, Femme-fi eyeshadow (LE) to highlight brow, Graphblack technakohl on lower lash line, and Plushlash mascara on lashes. I had Suncentered Color Forms powder (LE) on cheeks. I wore Tropic Glow slimshine (LE) with Nymphette lipglass on my lips.
