Quick Look: Soft Neutrals & Chanel Lips

I meant to post this awhile ago, but I forgot — this was an ultra quick look I did in the beginning of February! On top of MAC Soft Ochre paint pot (as a base), I wore MAC Ricepaper eyeshadow all over the lid (and brow bone) with MAC Woodwinked eyeshadow in the crease–and that’s about it!  Oh! and Baked by Urban Decay for liner, I believe… (This is why you’re not supposed to *forget* to post stuff, because then you just forget what’s in it!) Benefit Sugarbomb for blush with Chanel Mandarin Rouge Allure Laque.

What’s YOUR quick look?

Pop-up Color with Teal

I was totally going to do a neutral look, but I was wearing a teal shirt… so one thing led to another and I ended up going for subtle color. Is it really only Tuesday? I feel like it should be Friday already! No, seriously… :)

You will need the following…

For eyes, start by applying Soft Ochre paint pot as your eyeshadow base all over the eye area with the 249. Next, apply a secondary base of Indianwood paint pot on the lid only. Using the 239, apply Nylon eyeshadow on the inner third of the eyelid. Next, apply Patina eyeshadow on the middle third of the eyelid and lightly blend with the inner corner. Darken the outer third of the lid with Humid eyeshadow with the 239, gently brushing it into the lower crease. Apply Bottle Green eyeshadow into the outer crease with the 226. Lightly tap and brush Nylon eyeshadow directly above the crease to soften. To finish the eyeshadow look, sweep Ricepaper eyeshadow as a highlighter on the brow bone. Bring everything together by applying #20L eyeliner on the lower lash line and sweeping lashes with Plushlash mascara.

For cheeks, apply Sugarbomb blush to the apples of the cheeks and sweep upwards towards the temple with the 116.

For lips, apply Gardenia lipstick first, and then layer Gold Dust lipglass for a complementing lip.

Bronze Eyes: Colour 4 Eyeshadow Quad, Take 2!

Happy Monday!  Depending whether you’re on holiday or not, I suppose :)   I actually did this look on Saturday, but with all of the Riveting reviews, I decided to hold off on posting it until later on.

You will need the following…

For eyes, start by applying Soft Ochre paint pot as your eyeshadow base all over the eye area with the 249. With the 239 and water-based mixing medium (or water), apply Stacked 2! pigment (the gold) all over the lid area. Using the 239, apply Manila Paper eyeshadow on the inner third of the eyelid. Next, apply Aztec Brick eyeshadow on the middle third of the eyelid and lightly blend with the inner corner. Darken the outer third of the lid with Creole Beauty eyeshadow, with the 239, on the outer corner and lid. Add depth to the crease by lightly tapping Star Violet eyeshadow with the 226. Lightly tap and brush Flip eyeshadow directly above the crease to soften. To finish the eyeshadow look, sweep Ricepaper eyeshadow as a highlighter on the brow bone. Bring everything together by applying Honey eyeliner on the lower lash line, Penultimate on the upper lash line, and sweeping lashes with Plushlash mascara.

For cheeks, apply Springshine blush ombre to the apples of the cheeks and sweep upwards towards the temple with the 116.

For lips, apply Colour Me Coral lipstick first, and then layer Purple Rage lipglass for a complementing lip.

Bronzy Neutrals: MAC Colour 4 Eyeshadow Quad Look

This was a quickie look before I went to school last night! I even timed myself and managed to get it all done in fifteen minutes and *not* leave late for class, LOL! You know I had to dive into the Colour 4 eyeshadow quad, just ’cause is totally my style. Really love the colors and the textures–Manila Paper is the only one that doesn’t totally suit me; it’s a bit stark on my brow bone, because of my skin tone (would be lovely on someone lighter), but I imagine it’ll be very nice as a lid color even if I can’t use it as a brow color so much! You could also do a much darker or more coppery/coral lip with this look.  I had an itch to use Victorian, one way or another, and thus I went a little lighter!

Happy Thursday! It’s almost the weekend–we’re almost there! :) Though since mine involves major, major studying for midterms, I’m not keen on its arrival!

You will need the following…

For eyes, start by applying Soft Ochre paint pot as your eyeshadow base all over the eye area with the 249. Using the 239, apply Flip eyeshadow on the inner third of the eyelid. Next, apply Aztec Brick eyeshadow on the middle third of the eyelid and lightly blend with the inner corner. Darken the outer third of the lid with Creole Beauty eyeshadow with the 239, gently brushing it into the lower crease. Lightly blend Creole Beauty eyeshadow, with the 239, on the outer corner and lid. Lightly tap and brush Flip eyeshadow directly above the crease to soften. To finish the eyeshadow look, sweep Manila Paper eyeshadow as a highlighter on the brow bone. Bring everything together by applying Lucky eyeliner on the lower lash line and sweeping lashes with Plushlash mascara.

For cheeks, apply Ripe Peach blush ombre to the apples of the cheeks and sweep upwards towards the temple with the 116.

For lips, apply Victorian lipstick first, and then layer Ember Glow lipglass for a complementing lip.

Valentine’s Day Makeup: Neutral Eyes & Red Lips

The boy and I went out last night for our Valentine’s Day dinner (early, I know–that’s how we do it!), so I had to pull out Chanel Dragon for a little night out on the town! :)   Every time I wear it, I feel like I’m totally made out of awesome, LOL.  I still love it to bits.

You will need the following…

For eyes, start by applying Soft Ochre paint pot as your eyeshadow base all over the eye area with the 249. Using the 239, apply Ricepaper eyeshadow on the inner third of the eyelid. Next, apply Wedge eyeshadow on the middle third of the eyelid and lightly blend with the inner corner. Darken the outer third of the lid with Cork eyeshadow with the 239, gently brushing it into the lower crease. Lightly blend Mystery eyeshadow, with the 226, into the outer crease. To finish the eyeshadow look, sweep Ricepaper eyeshadow as a highlighter on the brow bone. Bring everything together by applying Bourbon eyeliner on the lower lash line and sweeping lashes with Exceptionnel mascara.

For cheeks, apply Sugarbomb blush to the apples of the cheeks and sweep upwards towards the temple with the 116.

For lips, apply Dragon rouge allure laque with a lip brush for the perfect red lip.

Burnished Neutrals: Coppers and Browns

I gotta tell you, this look was a pain in the behind to photograph. You just can’t see as much color variation in the close-up photos as you typically can. I took photos in a different spot in my house than I normally do (on the floor, ha), so I won’t be doing that again in case that alone was it! (I, as silly as I can be, removed my makeup prior to uploading photos to ensure everything was photographed right and tight!) At least, though, the full face photos turned out and show the look the way it should :)

Happy Friday! What are your Friday plans?  The boyfriend and I are celebrating Valentine’s Day early (we always do it early!) at my very favorite steakhouse.  I’m already salivating over what’s to come, LOL!

You will need the following…

For eyes, start by applying Primer Potion as your eyeshadow base all over the eye area with the 249. Using the 239, apply Drink Me, Eat Me eyeshadow on the inner third of the eyelid. Next, apply Muchness eyeshadow on the middle third of the eyelid and lightly blend with the inner corner. Darken the outer third of the lid with Queen eyeshadow with the 239, gently brushing it into the lower crease. Add more depth to the crease by applying Mushroom eyeshadow with the 226. Lightly blend Mushroom eyeshadow, with the 239, on the outer corner and lid. Lightly tap and brush Muchness eyeshadow directly above the crease to soften. To finish the eyeshadow look, sweep Shroom eyeshadow as a highlighter on the brow bone. Bring everything together by applying 1999 eyeliner on the lower lash line and Honey liner on the lower water line. Finish by sweeping lashes with Plushlash mascara.

For cheeks, apply Peach blush to the apples of the cheeks and sweep upwards towards the temple with the 116.

For lips, apply Orange Sequin lipstick first, and then layer Papaya Creme lipgloss for a complementing lip.
