Beautiful Beginnings with Deborah Lippmann

Beautiful Beginnings with Deborah Lippmann

What was the first Deborah Lippmann product you ever tried?  Did it pave way for a real romance or did it put you off the brand entirely?  What was the first product you purchased?  Did you love it? Hate it? Still own it?

my answer: First shade I ever tried was Ruby Red Slippers, which was and still is absolutely gorgeous. I think Deborah Lippmann can do a really fantastic nail lacquer–and a lot of them start off being original. Lots of what she has created has been copied, which is the same way I feel about Chanel.

Rant & Rave: Tinted Lip Balm

This Week’s Topic: TINTED LIP BALM!

Your Mission: Tell us what you love, hate, or are otherwise indifferent to about tinted lip balms. What drives you bananas? What makes them necessary?

my answer: I prefer mine clear, just because when I wear lip balm, I want clear, and when I want something colored, I’ll opt for lipstick.

No, definitely not. There are a surprising number of formulas on the market that can actually be worn on their own, though if you have really oily lids, you will likely find that primer is necessary. It’s one of those, “it can’t hurt” steps to me. It’s a precautionary measure that next to never hurts your eyeshadow application.

Most Overrated & Underrated Makeup Remover

Over & Under: Most Overrated & Underrated Makeup Remover

There are always products that receive endless raves, but they don’t always live up to our expectations or work out as well as they do for others.  Share your picks for most overrated and underrated MAKEUP REMOVERS.  Don’t forget to share your whats and whys as to your choices!

My Picks

  • Most Overrated: Maybe Philosophy’s Purity, though I don’t know if it’s really a makeup remover so much as it is a cleanser–I like it as a cleanser but it doesn’t get rid of every last trace of makeup as effectively as other removers.
  • Most Underrated: Cleansing oils in general–I know Bobbi Brown, MAC, shu all make them–because I find they remove pretty much all makeup and cleanse the skin at once.

Sunday Link Love, Volume #104

Happy Sunday!

The best part of my Sunday is brunch–I think it’s because the place we go to only serves those foods on Sunday at brunch, so you have to wait for that one day every week. The anticipation makes it sweeter, I’d say 🙂  Yesterday was a bit of a struggle, because the power kept going on and off, so I’m hoping to put in a few extra hours today to get caught up before Monday hits!  Hope you’re having a lovely weekend!
