I would wear sunscreen, tinted moisturizer, waterproof eyeliner and mascara, and lipgloss – just enough to look good out of the pool but not so much that I couldn’t get splashed!

Once I’ve photographed and swatched products, I put them in clear containers to test. So, I go to those containers and pick out what I hope will work somewhat well together or will reach for items that are more time-sensitive and need to be reviewed right away.

1.) Make sure you’re familiar with the retailer’s return policy, in case something doesn’t work out, breaks, etc. 2.) Always look for coupons – you can usually find ones for free shipping, small samples, and the like. (Consider signing up for the retailer’s newsletter if you are a frequent shopper.) 3.) Search for reviews/swatches for a product you’re unsure about to get a better feel for how it might perform or look.

1. For really soft/creamy pencils, put them in the refrigerator or freezer to help them harden to minimize waste.
2. Clean out your sharpener between uses so that colors don’t get mixed.
3. Sharpen with sure, moderately fast turns of the eyeliner–don’t go too slow but don’t go too fast.
