Bobbi Brown’s Pretty Powerful campaign kicked off this week, and she’s launched a contest where you can submit a video telling Bobbi how you get “pretty powerful”! 15 finalists will be chosen and sent a personalized section of Bobbi’s essentials to create another video. These videos will be voted on by the public, and Bobbi will be donating $1 to Dress for Success (up to $10,000). Three grand prize winners will win a trip to NYC and a personal makeup lesson from Bobbi Brown herself. I hope to see some Temptalia readers up there!
CoverGirl’s Clean Makeup for Clean Water Campaign wants you to submit a video telling them how you give back and make the world a better place, how this makes you beautiful. For every entry submitted, CoverGirl will donate one week’s worth of water to a child in need. Entrants also have a chance to win a humanitarian trip to Africa or an opportunity to participate in a CoverGirl photoshoot. Also in CoverGirl news, you can design a custom decal for LashBlast Length mascara and win, get details.

I don’t think I bought anything. Let’s pretend I didn’t, OK? I can’t remember. That means either it might be true or I might have a selective memory… No, wait, I bought more Zoya nail polish remover. I was so close!
Since I spent the first half of the week sick to my stomach from a rather nasty case of food poisoning… I’m pretty much in a catch-up mood for both the blog and school. My weekend is so not going to be fun as I read about a zillion pages about law and investments and statistics. STATISTICS, the bane of my existence! The happy part of my weekend will be heading to the farmers’ market with my boyfriend on Saturday.
One recurring theme in this month’s Ask Temptalia Session was all about foundation — what’s best for what skin, how to choose the right shade, how to know what kind of undertones you have, and so on and so forth. This is pretty much everything I know about foundation, and hopefully, you’ll add your own tips and tricks in the comments to make this a great resource for the future! (You know, I fully intended for this to be a short and sweet post, but you know what they say about plans!)
Choosing foundation can be a difficult, trying, and frustrating process because everyone’s skin varies just a little bit from person to person so what works for one might not work for another–and for a whole variety of reasons–from undertones to skin types to skin concerns to personal preferences.
Undertones, shopping for foundation, tips & tricks ahead!
