For a mere $11, you can grab NYX’s Nude on Nude Palette, which contains nine neutral eyeshadows, plus two complementing lip colors. It contains these eyeshadows: pale nude beige (semi-matte finish), semi-sheer mushroom taupe with warm undertones (light shimmer), cool-toned dark brown (satin finish), peachy copper (frosty/metallic sheen), muted copper (frosty), semi-sheer dark gray brown (light shimmer), brightened copper (frosty), browned gold (frosty), and warmed medium-dark chocolate brown (light shimmer). It also contains a reddish rose with lots of shimmer and sheer, medium bubblegum pink for lip colors.
Shiseido Pout (RS326) Lipstick ($25.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a semi-sheer pinky mauve with a high gloss sheen. The Perfect Rouge formula is incredibly moisturizing, and even though this is part of the sheer line, it’s still quite pigmented. It has subtle pink micro-shimmer that gives it a little added oomph without making it too shimmery. It’s also scent- and taste-free — just a pleasant nothingness! I get between two and three hours of wear with this sheerer shade, but it fades quite naturally and doesn’t leave a ring of color behind.
Is this the right pink for you? Would you wear it?
The Summer Season is a series of posts featuring bright, vibrant shades of coral, orange, and pink lipsticks and lipglosses — all perfect for a summer of fun — that runs through July 2010.
NARS Hot Wired Lip Lacquer($24.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a jelly textured raspberry pink with bright, iridescent fuchsia micro-shimmer. NARS’ Lip Lacquers are incredibly moisturizing and feel very slick–but not sticky–on lips. The color pay off yields a nice semi-opaque look. It works well on its own or layered over a lipstick, too. The only thing I have to note is that the scent was like crayons/wax–a scent that has plagued more NARS’ lip products than I’d like. It doesn’t linger, but it was quite potent in the jar.
