8 Ways to Wear Pink Eyeshadow

Sometimes we all need a little help getting creative when it comes to wearing eyeshadow, so let me share eight ways I’ve come up with to wear Da Bling!

1. Easy Light/Dark. Apply Da Bling eyeshadow all over the lid with the 239 brush. Sweep a dark burgundy purple shade like Shadowy Lady into the crease using a fluffy crease brush a la 222, 224, or 226. Finish by highlighting the area right below the brow with a color with a touch of pink in it, like Hush.

2. Pink Sunsets. Begin by applying Goldmine eyeshadow on the inner third of the eye lid with the 239 brush. Next, layer an orangey-yellow eyeshadow, like Juiced, on the middle third of the lid, slightly overlaying the gold-toned inner eyeshadow. Apply Da Bling eyeshadow on the outer third of the lid, gently sweeping the color into the outermost portion of the crease. Use a fluffy crease to blend the pink shade out. Highlight the brow area with your favorite neutral, highlighting eyeshadow.

3. Shamelessly Dark. Apply Da Bling to the inner third of the eye lid using the 239 brush. Accentuate the outer two-thirds of the eye lid by applying a dark shade, like Carbon, all over the area. Smoke it out by bringing it into the crease with a fluffy crease brush. Highlight the brow bone area.

4. Pink & Purple. Lightly apply Da Bling eyeshadow to the inner half of the lid, lightening it with Hush eyeshadow if necessary. Cover the outer half of the lid with a soft, pastel purple like Beautiful Iris or Digit eyeshadow. Darken the crease with a deeper purple color like Parfait Amour, lightly, with a fluffy crease brush to help diffuse the color. Finish with your choice in highlighters.

4 Summery Makeup Combinations Using MAC True Chartreuse Pigment

Pair it with browns as a way to wear chartreuse without it being overly bright. The brown helps to tone it down and makes it look very earthy.

Summery yellows work really well when coordinated with True Chartreuse. It helps bring out the yellow-tones in the color, making it more yellow than green.

Paired with teals and greens to go really colorful!

Make it pop with bright liner on your lower lash line. Use blues and greens and teals!

The Best Mascaras for Summer

Clinique High Impact ($14.00) is a “tube” mascara, which means that it isn’t technically waterproof. Instead, it’s heat, sweat, and water resistant so long as it isn’t warm water. Since it isn’t waterproof, it washes off easier than waterproof mascara–just use warm water. You can see me wearing it here.

Maybelline Full ‘n Soft Waterproof ($7.00) gives you soft, full lashes that won’t smudge, flake, or fade away in the hotter summer months. I love this mascara for a more natural lash look, but I always have a tube of the waterproof stuff for those lazy summer days, too.

Prescriptives Here to Stay ($19.50) gives you lots of length, richness in blackness, and it’s designed to last you all day, literally–24 hours. It does a good job of holding up throughout the summer for sure.

L’Oreal Voluminous Waterproof ($8.00) gets you summerproofed lashes with lots of volume with wispy, lush lashes. I personally don’t like to wear waterproof mascaras everyday, so I often opt for solid, proven drugstore buys for my waterproof mascaras.

The Best Mascaras for Natural Looking Lashes

Maybelline Full ‘n Soft ($7.00) is one of my favorite drugstore mascaras, and I used it for years before switching to MAC Plushlash. It’s consistent and pretty. You get exactly what it says — full, soft-looking lashes. I’d say this is on the far end of natural, just before it gets dramatic.

Clinique Long Pretty ($14.00) gives your lashes a subtle, natural lift and adds a little more black to your natural lash color. You can see it in action here.

Bobbi Brown Everything ($22.00) is perfect for everyday. In some ways, it epitomizes what you’d want in a very downplayed, natural mascara. It’s a soft black that doesn’t clump nor does it length/thicken your lashes much. It’s going to give you a slightly fuller lash, but it’s really just adding more color to your lashes.

4 Bold Makeup Looks Using MAC Deep Truth Eyeshadow

Take yourself to the tropics with a summery, chartreuse and blue eye. Deep Truth adds a touch of shimmering water to complement the yellow greens.

Work it with silvery whites to give you an ice goddess kind of look.

Try it with teal, because it makes for an excellent way to add depth to your lids. Use Deep Truth in the crease while you lay teal all over your lid.

Go unabashedly blue with an all-blue lid and Deep Truth to darken up that crease!
