ALYSSA MILANO goes for a silvery smoky eye with coral-brown lips and looks fabulous!

Begin by applying your base of choice (the cult favorite is Urban Decay’s Primer Potion) all over your lid.  Using the 239, apply a touch of MAC’s Gesso eyeshadow to the very inner portion of the lid, just for a pop of white shadow.  Pick up a generous amount of MAC’s Silver Ring eyeshadow and apply all over the lid, leaving a touch of the Gesso remaining on the inner lid.  Apply MAC’s Black Tied eyeshadow using the 224 to the outer crease, blending outwards and upwards to darken and add depth.  With the 239, apply MAC’s Shroom eyeshadow above the crease and underneath brow to highlight.  Line eyes with a black eyeliner, like MAC’s Graphblack technakohl, and then with the 219, lightly line eyes with MAC’s Knight Divine eyeshadow.  Apply several coats of ultra black mascara to both upper and lower lashes to finish the eyes.

Get Milano’s flawless, dewy skin with a foundation that dries to a semi-matte finish.  If you only have a matte foundation, try adding a bit of moisturizer to it.  We recommend MAC’s Face & Body liquid foundation.  Using a concealer brush (194), dab on a touch of liquid foundation to cheeks, chin, forehead, and nose.  Spritz a fluffy powder or buffer brush (129, 150, or 182) with a mist of water or Fix+, and then buff the foundation onto your face.  Work your way outwards to ensure full coverage.  Apply more dabs of foundation if you so require.  Set with any loose powder if have oilier skin (or feel the need to) using a fluffy powder brush (129).  Brighten up cheeks by using the 129 and picking up a small amount of MAC’s Springsheen blush and dusting onto the apples of the cheeks.  Blend outwards using the 129 brush, softly swirling it on the cheeks, and finish by buffing the color into skin with the 182.

For perfectly pouty lips, first line the outer edges of your lips with MAC’s Cream Kiss cremestick liner to get a very defined shape.  Apply MAC’s Peachstock lipstick on lips either straight from the tube or using a lip brush like the 316.  Top lips off with a light coat of MAC’s Lychee Luxe lipglass.

EMMA WATSON is looking particularly sophisticaed in a gray-brown smoky eye and glossy lips.  Although some feel she should be wearing less, the look itself is still pretty.  Begin by applying your base of choice (the cult favorite is Urban Decay’s Primer Potion) all over your lid.  Apply MAC’s Silver Ring eyeshadow to the inner lid with the 239 brush, while applying MAC’s Print eyeshadow to the outer lid.  With the 224, lightly tap MAC’s Knight Divine eyeshadow into the crease, blending towards the outer lid.  Using the 239, gently apply MAC’s Embark eyeshadow above the crease, blending upwards, letting it fade towards the brow.  Highlight the brow with the 239 brush and Shroom eyeshadow, making sure to blend with the darker shadows to ensure a soft line, rather than a harsh one.  Apply MAC’s Blacktrack fluidline with the 266 brush along the upper lash line.  Forego lining the lower lash line, but instead add an extra coat or two of black mascara to the lower lashes (as well as to the upper lashes).

We recommend MAC’s Studio Fix Fluid or Make Up Forever’s Mat+ Velvet liquid foundation. Brighten up cheeks by using the 129 and picking up a small amount of Margin blush and dusting onto the apples of the cheeks.  Blend outwards using the 129 brush, softly swirling it on the cheeks, and finish by buffing the color into skin with the 182.

Keep lips looking subtle and glossy by applying MAC’s Pinkarat lustreglass to lips–skip the lipstick, just pump up your natural lip color.

ARIELLE KEBBEL has the most piercing brown eyes thanks to her blue-lined lids. Begin by applying your choice of eyeshadow base (like Urban Decay’s Primer Potion) all over your lid, including a thin line on your lower lash line (really, really thin, then smudged with any brush so it isn’t too thick!). Using MAC’s Moon’s Reflection eyeshadow, apply it to the inner third of the lid using the 239. Apply MAC’s Tilt eyeshadow all over the rest of lid with the 239 brush, and then using the 219, apply Tilt along the lower lash line. With the 239, apply MAC’s Flashtrack eyeshadow to the outer portion of the lid and crease. Use the 224 or 222 to smooth out the harsh edge of blue just above the crease. Apply MAC’s Shroom eyeshadow underneath brow and above crease, as the highlight color, with the 239. Blend your highlight and the harsher color together using swirls and soft strokes of the 224. Line both the upper and lower lash lines with a black kohl (such as MAC’s Blacktrack fluidline or Graphblack technakohl). Coat lashes with several brushes of super black mascara to finish.

Kebbel has flawless, matte skin, and it is easy to get the same look by using a matte finish foundation, like MAC’s Studio Fix Fluid or Make Up Forever’s Mat+ Velvet. Both are liquid foundations, which are always my preference for the ultimate polished look. Always begin a foundation routine by cleansing and moisturizing face (and using sunscreen protection!). Dab on bits of foundation to your cheeks, chin, forehead, and nose with a concealer brush like the 194. Spritz a fluffy powder or buffer brush (129, 150, 182) with a mist of water or Fix+, and then blend out the dabs of foundation applied earlier. Dust face lightly with loose powder with the 129 or 150 to set foundation. With a light hand, pick up a touch of MAC’s Well Dressed blush with a fluffy powder brush (129, 150) and tap gently onto apples of cheeks. Using a buffer brush like the 182, move the brush in circular motions to buff the color into cheeks and leave it as a subtle flush.

To get Kebbel’s icy cool lips, try MAC’s Pervette lipstick or Hue lipstick with MAC’s Luminary lustreglass.  Part lips as if letting a small “oh” sigh escape, and you’ll be just as sexy as Kebbel.

KEIRA KNIGHTLEY looks beyond flawless with her smooth, matte-velvet skin and perfectly pouty lips.  Replicate Knightley’s insanely healthy skin by moisturizing face thoroughly before applying foundation.  The finish is clearly matte, so we recommend MAC’s Studio Fix Fluid or Make Up Forever’s Mat+ Velvet liquid foundations.  Apply dabs of foundation to your cheeks, chin, forehead, and nose using a concealer brush like the 194.  Take a fluffy powder or buffer brush and spritz lightly with a mist of water or Fix+, and then use the brush to spread out the dabs of foundation from earlier.  If you’re using the buffer brush, make sure to buff in small circles.  For a fluffy powder brush, sweep wider circles when you can.  For optimal results, set lightly with powder of your choice using a stippling brush like the 187; we want just enough to set the foundation, but we don’t want powder to be apparent.  Contour cheeks ever-so-gently using a matte powder that’s a shade or two deeper than your natural skintone using a fluffy angled brush like the 168.  Blush cheeks faintly with soft pink blush like MAC’s Desert Rose using the 129 or 150 fluffy powder brushes.

Her sexy, smoldering eyes look wide-open and awake.  Apply your eyeshadow base of choice (a cult favorite is Urban Decay’s Primer Potion) all over the lid.  With the 239 brush, apply MAC’s Bamboo eyeshadow all over lid, and dab just a touch of it on the inner tearducts.  Next, apply MAC’s Woodwinked eyeshadow on the outer edge of the lid, blending softly into the lighter color with the 239.  Using the 224, gently tap MAC’s Mulch eyeshadow into the outer crease; blend by softly swishing the brush over the crease area in a horizontal motion.  Apply MAC’s Shroom eyeshadow from above the crease to underneath your brow as the brow highlight with the 239.  For a highlight, make sure the one you choose is semi-matte or matte, because in this look, subtle shimmer is what it’s all about.  With the 219, apply Woodwinked eyeshadow underneath the lower lash line.  Apply MAC’s Graphblack technakohl to lower water line, and use a 266 brush with MAC’s Blacktrack fluidline to line upper lashes.  Wing the black liner out just slightly for a very subtle cat-eye.  Apply several coats of your favorite black mascara to finish the look.

Get Knightley’s deliciously plump lips by first lining lips with MAC’s Amber Ember cremestick liner.  Apply MAC’s Hug Me lipstick from the tube or using a lip brush like the 316.  Top with MAC’s Underage lipglass or Nice Buzz plushglass to finish your pout with a high glossy sheen.

EVA LONGORIA dazzles with a golden wheat and bronze eye and shimmery coral-brown lips.  Her complexion is stunning–flawlessly matte.  We recommend MAC’s Studio Fix Fluid or Make Up Forever’s Mat+ Velvet liquid foundation. Brighten up cheeks by using the 129 and picking up a small amount of Style blush and dusting onto the apples of the cheeks.  Blend outwards using the 129 brush, softly swirling it on the cheeks, and finish by buffing the color into skin with the 182.

Get Longoria’s wide-eyed look by first applying your choice in base/primer (Urban Decay’s Primer Potion is a cult favorite).  Apply MAC’s Ricepaper eyeshadow all over the lid using the 239 brush.  Over the middle portion of the lid (as if you split your lid into three sections), apply just a light dusting of MAC’s Goldmine eyeshadow with the 224 (we really mean light!).  Using the 239, blend in the gold-hued shadow with the all-over lid color.  Apply MAC’s Amber Lights eyeshadow on outer lid and in the outer crease with the 239.  Line the lower lash line also with MAC’s Amber Lights using the 219 and going along the lower lash line.  Deepen the crease by applying MAC’s Bronze eyeshadow lightly with the 224, dusting and blending simultaneously.  Using the 266, line upper and lower lash lines with MAC’s Blacktrack fluidline.  For ultra black kohl, try MAC’s Kohl Power in Feline if you have the opportunity. Finish with a flourish by applying MAC’s #6 lashes to add drama and lots of length to your natural lashes.  For those who want prefer natural lashes, apply 2-3 coats of the blackest mascara you own (we love MAC’s Plushlash in Plushblack).

For duplicating Longoria’s luscious lips, we think MAC’s Jubilee lipstick makes an excellent base (though there are a variety of possible choices:  Fresh Brew, Peachstock, Half ‘n Half, to name a few!).  Overlay it with MAC’s C-thru lipglass or Instant Gold lustreglass to get that shimmery, glossy look.  Flash your pearly whites and let yourself glow!

HAYDEN PANETTIERE is emerging as a gorgeous young woman these days, and this look is no exception to showing how she’s matured over the years.  With ultra glossy red lips and a silvery smoky eye, how are we to resist?

Panettiere’s face is dewy, flawless, and lightly blushed–but she doesn’t look like she’s wearing much makeup at all.  How does she do it?  It’s all about the foundation you pick, and while a powder foundation can work, I have always found that liquid foundation yields better results quicker (and entirely more foolproof than using powder compacts!).  The liquid foundation should dry to a dewy finish, but don’t despair if your foundation is matte–just add a touch of moisturizer to it (and if you have one with just a hint of shimmer in it, try that; MAC’s Strobe Cream is great for this trick).  Our pick is MAC’s Mineralize Satinfinish for those with dry to normal skin, but opt for MAC’s Face & Body for those with oilier skin.  We want dewy, flawless skin that looks shimmery but not at all oily; Satinfinish may be too much dewiness for oily skin (though, not always).  As always, our technique of choice for foundation does not change, but at least we have a separate step-by-step tutorial now for it!  Using a small, flat brush like a concealer brush (194), apply a dab of foundation each cheek, chin, forehead, and nose.  Spritz a fluffy powder or buffer brush (think 129, 150, 182) with a gentle mist of water (less is more!) or Fix+, and then brush against the dabs of foundation to spread the coverage onto your skin.  Spread out by pulling the dab outwards, and then buff into skin with small, circular motions with the brush (this is why we adore the 182 for the job, nobody does it better…).  Gently rouge cheeks by using the 129 or 150 brush and picking up a hint of MAC’s Springsheen blush and tap onto the apples of the cheeks.  Highlight cheeks using MAC’s Dancing Light loose beauty powder with the 129 or 187 brush (a stippling brush will give you more control and allow you to build up and not overdo it).  Apply on cheekbones, swipe gently across forehead, and tap lightly on the chin.

Even though the lips are stunning, we cannot keep our eyes off her… eyes!  Using the 249 brush, apply MAC’s Silverstroke fluidline all over lid–this is your base–so you can already see the pop of silver.  Pick up a touch of MAC’s Crystal Avalanche and apply to the inner portion of the lid using the 239, and be sure to apply to the inner tearducts, as well, so you really get that pop of silvery white.  With the 239, dab a touch of MAC’s Silver Ring eyeshadow to the middle of lid, and don’t put it away, because we’ll be using it shortly.  Apply MAC’s Carbon eyeshadow using a separate 239 brush (we advise getting a duplicate shadow brush, whether it be a cheap brush or high-end, for dark colors like Carbon) to the outer lid and outer crease.  Also, gently tug it just under your outer lower lash line–only a smidge.  Using Silver Ring again, apply it to the crease area with the 224 brush, dusting it lightly into it.  Finish the shadows off by applying MAC’s Shroom eyeshadow underneath the brow to highlight and blend the grayish smoky eye gradually.  Apply a thin line of MAC’s Blacktrack fluidline to upper lash line and bottom lash line.  Complete the look by adding MAC’s #6 lashes for rich black, ultra long lashes.

Panettiere’s lips are easily duplicated; they are not a true, fire-engine red–you can see just a touch of berry undertones.  We vote for MAC’s New York Apple lipstick applied precisely with a lip brush (316) and topped with MAC’s Russian Red lipglass for high sheen, pouty red-berry lips.  While we really do think this berry lipstick, ultra red gloss combination will do it for you, if you’re wary, try MAC’s Dubonnet lipstick topped with Russian Red lipglass instead (and hey, it’s not a bad combination to be aware of!).

CHRISTINA AGUILERA shows off a perfect red pout with a gold-and-black smoky eye (and dramatic lashes, of course).  Unlike Eva Green’s recent look of red lips and dark smoky eyes, Aguilera uses golden hues to soften the dramaticism of her look.  Apply your favorite eyeshadow base (cult favorite is most likely Urban Decay’s Primer Potion) all over lid, including over the crease.  With the 239 brush, apply NARS’ Cyprus eyeshadow along inner lid and just above the natural crease.  Apply MAC’s Brun eyeshadow on outer lid and above crease with the 239 brush.  Take the 224 crease brush and apply MAC’s Carbon eyeshadow in light taps to the outer crease, darkening the crease itself and just a bit of the outer lid.  Using the 239, apply MAC’s Shroom eyeshadow underneath brow and blend into the grayish-brown shadow.  Line eyes with MAC’s Blacktrack fluidline using the 266 brush both along the upper and lower lash lines.  Apply MAC’s #6 lashes for extra drama, X-tina style.

Aguilera’s dewy skin is a thing to be envied, but you can mimic her flawless skin by using MAC’s Face & Body foundation, which has a natural dewy finish.  It isn’t incredibly dewy (if this is your style, try MAC’s Mineralize Satinfinish), but not too matte, either.  Dab foundation to your cheeks, chin, forehead, and nose using a concealer brush like the 194.  Spritz a fluffy powder or buffer brush (129, 150, or 182) with water or Fix+, and then brush out the dabs of foundation to give yourself an even layer of foundation.  With the 150 brush, apply a gentle sweep of MAC’s Well-dressed blush along the apples of cheeks.  Apply a light dusting of MAC’s Dancing Light beauty powder with the 150 brush along cheekbones to highlight and accentuate them as the light reflects off of your natural bone structure to enhance your facial features.

To get ultra-defined lips, begin by lining lips with MAC’s Red Enriched cremestick liner.  Using the 316 lip brush, apply MAC’s Dubonnet lipstick along lips, making sure to cover the outer portion before moving to fill in the inner parts of the lips.  It is likely that you will need to apply an additional coat or two to achieve evenness and the desired color richness.  Pout prettily and be one gorgeous glamour girl!

EVA GREEN is seen here in a very fashion forward look, because very rarely will you see a celebrity (and in fact, it is technically a “makeup don’t”) sport both a classic red lip with dark, smoky eyes.  For someone with Green’s features, both are definitely not necessary to accentuate her beauty, but I think half the fun in breaking the rules is having the confidence to do it, so why not share how Green pulls this look together?  Start with your favorite eyeshadow base (like Urban Decay’s Primer Potion) all over the lid.  Apply MAC’s Satin Taupe eyeshadow all over lid using the 239 shadow brush.  With MAC’s Mystery eyeshadow, apply it to the outer corner with the 239 brush.  Using your 224 brush, dust MAC’s Carbon eyeshadow into the outer crease, blending into the outer lid.  Take the 239 brush and gently dab a touch of more Satin Taupe above the crease, blending it upwards just a bit.  With the 239 brush, again, apply MAC’s Phloof! eyeshadow above crease and all under the brow bone to highlight.  Apply MAC’s Feline kohl power along lower lash line, and then use the 219 to take a bit of Carboneyeshadow and smudge it along the lower lash line, going lightly on the inner portion and heavier on the outer portion.  Apply several coats of black mascara to both upper and lower lashes–top with false lashes for extra drama.  To really duplicate Green’s look, take a powder eyeshadow similar to your natural brow color and gently extend brow outwards as pictured in Geren’s look.

Green’s face is excellently highlighted with a healthy dose of pink glow and shimmer, which livens up her cheeks while still allowing them to be fairly subdued relative to the rest of her face.  It is truly a feat of mastery to be able to look gorgeous in bold eyes, cheeks, andlips simultaneously.  Keep skin looking light and natural by applying a light coat of foundation, whether powder or liquid.  For powder, try a mineral-based one to minimize a cakey look.  For a liquid, we recommend MAC’s Face & Body foundation.  With liquid foundation, spritz a fluffy powder or buffer brush (129, 150, 182) lightly with water or Fix+.  Dab a bit of the liquid foundation on your cheeks, forehead, nose, and chin using a 194 brush (concealer).  Using your lightly misted fluffy or buffer brush, spread the dabs out evenly to give yourself a light cover of foundation.  For powder products, using a buffer brush is still recommended in the application process.  Use a cream blush like NARS’ Multiple in Orgasm all over cheeks with MAC’s Dancing Light beauty powder dusted lightly on apples and cheekbones with a 129 or 150 brush.

We are thinking Green’s lips are utterly matte, or at the very least, semi-matte, so we cannot emphasize enough how important it is to prep and prime lips to the fullest.  Make sure to moisturize lips with a thick lip balm prior to putting on lipstick (preferably, apply it at the start of your makeup), and then remove any excess lip balm that has not been soaked into your lips.  With bold red lips, it is important for anyone who has lips that have a tendency to bleed with wear to line lips effectively.  We recommend MAC’s Red Enriched cremestick liner for all red lips.  With the 316 lip brush, apply MAC’s Russian Red lipstick (or MAC’s Classic Dame mattene lipstick–perfect, but limited edition!) going along the edge of your lips.  On the second pass, start filling in the center of the lips.  It is likely that you will need to apply a third all-over pass, and potentially a fourth, depending on how much product you apply in each pass.  Using a lip brush allows you to be meticulous about application, providing you with better precision, evenness, and color richness.  Tilt your head and smile, show some confidence, and be prepared to break a huge makeup don’t!

PARIS HILTON rocks a shimmery gray smoky eye with peachy-pink lips and coral cheeks.  Oh, did you notice the bronze-edged lower lash line she’s sporting?  Start off the eyes by applying your base of choice all over your lid (suggestion:  Urban Decay’s Primer Potion or MAC’s Prep & Prime), which will make your look last all night long, even when you’re partying in the club at 4am.  Apply MAC’s Print eyeshadow all over the lid with the 239 brush.  Using the 224, pick up a small amount of MAC’s Black Tied eyeshadow and gently apply over lid.  This is to add a great dose of shimmer, but we don’t want to blacken it too much–we want to keep it relatively gray.  Apply MAC’s Carbon eyeshadow into the outer crease using the 224 to add dimension (adding a matte crease always helps define the eye).  With the 239, apply Shroom eyeshadow above the crease and on the brow bone; be sure to blend out the gray hues a bit over the crease so they follow a natural gradient.  With the 219 brush, apply MAC’S Amber Lights eyeshadow along lower lash line.  Apply MAC’s Blacktrack fluidline in a thin line along upper lash line using the 266.  Follow with three coats of your blackest mascara (we love MAC Plushlash as well as Clinique’s High Impact).

For the face, Hilton’s skin has a bit of a glow, but her skin looks natural–not quite 100% polished like some other celebrities have in our previous installments.  As a result, we recommend MAC’s Face & Body liquid foundation, because it has a natural dewiness in its finish, but it is also quite sheer.  It allows your real skin to come through; if your skin isn’t as naturally gorgeous as Hilton’s, Face & Body still allows you to build up coverage when, where, and if you need it.  We suggest applying liquid foundation by using a concealer brush, like the 194, and dabbing a bit on your cheeks, chin, forehead, and nose first.  Follow up by using a fluffy powder or buffer brush (129, 150, or 182 all work well) and use the brush to buff or brush the foundation to cover your face evenly.  We love a buffer brush because it really gives a flawless finish–you know, the one we covet so much.  Opt not to contour, or if you must, do so with the lightest hand.  For cheeks, we love MAC’s Springsheen blush dusted on apples of the cheeks with the 129 (darker skintones may want to try Sunbasque, though).

Keep lips looking ultra luxe by lining with MAC’s Summerfruit cremestick liner first, and then applying MAC’s See Sheer lipstick (use the 316 if you are so inclined).  Top with MAC’s Lychee Luxe lipglass for a coral shimmery finish.  Flash your pearly whites, and you’re ready to walk the red carpet in style.

AVRIL LAVIGNE is famous (infamous?) for her incredibly dark, black smoky eyes.  It is often hard to find her sporting anything other than black shadow and liner, but we find her testing out a smoky gray and gold-yellow at the 2007 AMAs.  Apply your base of choice (we suggest Urban Decay’s Primer Potion).  For the inner fourth of the lid, apply MAC’s Goldmine eyeshadow to the area, as well as the inner tearducts and inner lower lash line with the 239 brush.  For the gray, we pick MAC’s Print eyeshadow.  Using the 239 brush, apply all over the remaining portion of the lid, extending above the crease and blending upwards.  With a highlighter like MAC’s Shroom eyeshadow, apply to browbone and just below it to blend the gray seamlessly into the highlight with the 239.  We don’t see much of a crease color in this look, from what we can tell, but we like Carbon eyeshadow applied with the 222 just gently deposited into the outer portion of the crease for a slightly smoldering look.  With the 219 brush, apply a thin line of Print eyeshadow on lower lash ilne.  Use a kohl liner, like MAC’s Graphblack technakohl, on lower lash line.  Afterwards, use the 219 brush to smudge outwards into the gray shadow.  Apply MAC’s #3 lashes for pitch-black, dramatic lashes.

Though Lavigne’s skin looks practically flawless, she has focused on playing up her eyes rather than her skin.  We like your favorite foundation as our choice for this look, but if we must suggest, we’ll suggest our holy grail: MAC’s Studio Fix Fluid.   Apply dabs of foundation on your cheeks, chin, forehead, and nose using a concealer brush like the 194.  Spritz a fluffy powder or buffer brush (we love the 182) with water of Fix+ (if you have it), and then spread out the dabs of foundation.  Cheeks are minimally flushed, so we recommend MAC’s Springsheen blush with a most light-handed application.

Lips are also downplayed in this look, and we see mostly her natural pink lip with some lipgloss for sheen.  Make yours like hers with MAC’s Sweetie lipstick, a sheer lipstick with moderate buildability, topped with clear gloss for the right effect.  Smile a bit, and you’ll be rockin’ like Lavigne all night.
