Here are reviews for eight of ColourPop Super Shock Shadows ($5.00 for 0.07 oz.) — a few of these are discontinued/were limited edition, but they were incorporated into the looks initially, so hopefully the dupes will help or otherwise inspire you on how to wear them if you picked them up during the holidays. Perhaps we’ll see a few come back this holiday!

ColourPop Between the Sheets Super Shock Cheek

ColourPop Between the Sheets Super Shock Cheek ($8.00 for 0.15 oz.) is described as a “mid-tone beige pink in a matte finish.” It’s a muted, pink-coral-brown with warm undertones and a matte finish. It’s lighter and pinker than a peach-brown, but it’s so muted, that it doesn’t read coral either. Tarte Fame (LE, $26.00) is brighter, warmer, powder. Colour Pop Quarters (P, $8.00) is darker. Chanel Jersey (80) (P, $45.00) is browner, powder. Surratt Beauty Parfait (P, $32.00) is more shimmery, powder. Illamasqua Flirtatious (LE, $26.00) is similar. Make Up For Ever #215 HD Blush (P, $26.00) is pinker, lighter. bareMinerals Swoon (LE, $19.00) is powder. MAC Melba (P, $21.00) is powder. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Makeup Geek Starry Eyed, Fortune Teller, Untamed, Charmed Foiled Eyeshadows

Here are the last four shades of the newly released Makeup Geek Foiled Eyeshadow ($9.99 for 0.064 oz.) shades! 🙂 As previously mentioned, the formula is designed as a cross between a powder and cream eyeshadow, and it’s supposed to have “intense pigmentation” with a “smooth, silky” texture. The brand has stated that those with oilier skin types will need a primer as these are prone to creasing due to the ingredients used in it. My testing showed that this formula creased faster over primers like Urban Decay Primer Potion and NARS Smudgeproof compared to just applying them to my bare lids, which are normal-to-dry. When applied over MAC Painterly Paint Pot, wear seemed to extend for about two hours longer than on bare lids.

Makeup Geek Whimsical, Daydreamer, Masquerade Foiled Eyeshadows

This post features three of the new Makeup Geek Foiled Eyeshadow ($9.99 for 0.064 oz.) shades that have just been released. The formula is supposed to be a cross between a cream and powder eyeshadow that has “intense pigmentation” with a “smooth, silky formula.” The brand has said that the formula may be prone to creasing on oilier lids and recommends a primer. The color payoff of these shades ranged from mostly opaque to fully opaque with dense, thick, creamy textures. The wear was actually shorter when used over primers like Urban Decay Primer Potion and NARS Smudgeproof than it was without any primer or base; when I tested with MAC Painterly Paint Pot, I had the longest results, though shorter than I typically get with Paint Pots.

Makeup Geek High Wire, Fantasy, Pegasus Foiled Eyeshadows

Ten new shades of the Makeup Geek Foiled Eyeshadow ($9.99 for 0.064 oz.) have been released. This time around, the brand has made it a point to state that those with oilier lids will need to use a primer for longevity if you have oilier lids as they are prone to creasing without one. They’re still supposed to have “intense pigmentation” with a “smooth, silky formula.” In general, they are fairly pigmented (mostly opaque to opaque) with a dense, creamy consistency that tends to be very metallic and high-shine.
