Rose Champagne

Wet ‘n’ Wild Rose Champagne Color Icon Blush ($2.99 for 0.20 oz.) is a soft peach with warm undertones and fine, gold pearl. It had a subtle shimmer-sheen finish that became softly luminous when buffed and blended out on the skin.

The brand says that it’s supposed to be a “buildable, blendable powder” with “long-lasting color.” It had good pigmentation that was buildably from mostly opaque to opaque. The blush had a fairly soft, lightly dusty texture that was blendable on the skin and easy to work with, especially if you’re someone who can be heavy-handed with blush. The color itself is on the lighter end of the spectrum, so it would be something that would show up more visibly on fairer skin tones than my light-medium complexion, where it worked more as a highlighter than a blush. It lasted well on my skin for seven and a half hours.

Happy Friday!

  • Haul: L’Oreal Blushes, LA Girl Blushes, MUFE Blushes
  • Weekend plans: Lots of blush swatching! I can only do so many per day before my cheeks get irritated (a lot less than lipstick/gloss) so I have take photos daily (I normally try to photograph every few days, as it takes most of the day to edit — if I do too much photographing, then I get behind on writing reviews).
  • Do you like shopping for clothes?: I like the idea of it more than the actual shopping and trying clothes on!

Botanic Dream

Wet ‘n’ Wild Botanic Dream MegaGlo Highlighting Powder ($4.99 for 0.19 oz.) is a medium, rosy pink with stronger, warm undertones and a frosted sheen. The finish was more metallic as I diffused and blended out the powder on the skin, but it did not seem to accentuate the look of my skin’s natural texture.

The formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with a “silky smooth” texture that is “easy-to-blend.” The highlighter was soft, smooth, and blendable on the skin without being too powdery nor too firmly pressed in the pan, which made it easy to use as well as to control the amount of product picked up on a brush. It was nicely pigmented with nearly opaque coverage in a single layer. This shade lasted for eight hours on me before fading slightly.
