The color payoff was excellent across the board with the exception of two shades–the green shade in column two was still good but a little sheer, while the smoky brown in column two was a little sheer as well. The latter shade also felt dry and stiff, so it wasn’t as easy to blend out as many of the other shades. Texture on these was also nice, other than the exception mentioned–soft, smooth, and blendable.
The first shade is a matte white, which while stark against my skin tone, doesn’t feel or look chalky. Next, there is a matte, green-teal that is a little low on color payoff but is decent–be careful when you blend this shade, because it is easily sheered out. The third matte shade is a dark, navy blue with the same color payoff as the teal shade. It’s just a little sheer in places. Both of the latter shades work best patted on and lightly blended to avoid sheering out the color entirely. The texture of the three matte shades was soft, and they applied smoothly.
Wet ‘n’ Wild Sweet As Candy Eyeshadow Trio ($2.99 for 0.12 oz.) is like a palette of Neopolitan ice cream! There is a bright, warm white with a metallic sheen; medium-dark chocolate brown with a metallic sheen; and berry-tinged pink with subtle yellow undertones with a metallic sheen. I found all three shades to have a higher level of sheen, more so than the typical frost.
Wet ‘n’ Wild Gray’s Anatomy Fast Dry Nail Color ($1.99 for 0.46 fl. oz.) is a semi-sheer duochrome featuring both a murky, grayish green and an iridescent but played down violet. Under flash, it photographed as a purple polish and didn’t come across as sheer. In natural light, the grayish-green cast is more noticeable while the violet takes a backseat. The duochrome is there, but it isn’t as strong as it could be, due to the sheerness of the formula. I see this working better as a layering shade than alone. I did three coats and it wasn’t anywhere near opaque.
Wet ‘n’ Wild Vanity Color Icon Eyeshadow Palette ($4.99 for 0.25 oz.) contains six eyeshadows–three with matte finishes and three with frost finishes. Vanity is a warm-toned palette with a mix of browns and golds. You can see a look I did with this palette here.
