Shiseido PK 327 Lipstick
Shiseido PK 327 Perfect Rouge Sheer Lip Color

The Spring Season: Shiseido PK 327 Perfect Rouge Sheer Lip Color

Shiseido PK 327 Perfect Rouge Sheer Lip Color ($25.00) is a soft, sheered rosy pink with a very glossy finish and subtle color. On me, it really enhances the natural rosiness of my lips and takes it to the next level. It’s definitely a my-lips-but-better (MLBB) shade, but it’s easy to wear, feels great, and looks very natural for those days when you need a toned-down lip. The lipstick itself has no scent or taste, which is great for those with more sensitive senses.

Is this the right pink lipstick for you? Would you wear it?

The Spring Season is a series of posts featuring my favorite soft beige, coral, and pink lipsticks and lipglosses — all perfect for the first blossom of spring — that runs through March 2010.

The Spring Season: Shiseido Pop Life (PK 406) Lipgloss

Shiseido Pop Life (PK 406) Luminizing Lip Gloss ($22.00 for 0.25 oz.) is a very milky, creamy pale blue-pink that applies with some color coverage, but it has the translucent look of milkier lipglosses. It has a champagne sparkle and high gloss sheen. It’s a very creamy, lightweight lip gloss that’s not-sticky and has no real scent/taste to me while keeping lips pretty moisturized while it wears (about two hours on me).

Shiseido Sugar Babe PK 224 Lipstick

The Spring Season: Shiseido PK 224 “Sugar Babe” Lipstick

Shiseido PK224 Perfect Rouge Glowing Matte Lip Color ($25.00) is a softened pink with a yellow undertone. It has a very glossy look to it in the light–completely the opposite of matte, despite the product name–and is incredibly creamy. In more natural/darker lighting, it has a semi-matte appearance. It’s moisturizing and fairly long-wearing, too–I get about three to four hours of wear in this particular shade.

Shiseido @ Narciso Rodriguez

NYFW S/S '10 Narciso Rodriguez

The Look

“Cool Sheik”, “Reverse Makeup”, “Dirty and Smudged”

Get the Look

  • Skin: The models skin was left as pure as possible, using very light foundation where needed.
  • Eyes: Dick first applied a makeup remover around the eyes with a fluffy brush to give a wet base and slightly glossy effect around the eyes. He then blended two shades of the Luminizing Satin Eye Colors from the Fall 2009 Collection, Squirrel (BR303) and Cavern (BR708). He applied the combination of shadows around the eyes (on top and bottom), right into the lashlines. He then used this color on the lids to create “dirty looking eyes.” No mascara or liner is used.
  • Lips: To create a matte lip, Dick blended two shades from the new Perfect Rouge Glowing Matte line from the Spring 2010 collection. Whisper (RD722) and Wink (BR323) were combined to create a flat mauve color, ultimately yielding “smudgy lips”.

Shiseido @ Zero + Maria Cornejo

The Look

“Leftover makeup” look and “touch of sun.”

Get the Look

  • Cheeks: Dick used the Luminizing Satin Face Color Tea Rose (RS302) from the Spring 2010 Collection and applied on the models’ bare skin, just on the cheeks and nose to give a sun-kissed look.
  • Eyes: Dick lined the top and bottom lash line with the Smoothing Eyeliner Pencil in Brown (BR602) from the 2009 Fall Makeup Collection. To give the look a little bit of slip, he applied a dab of the Accentuating Color Stick in Champagne Flush (S3) underneath the eyes. After curling the lashes, Dick applied a touch of the Perfect Mascara in Black (BK901) from the Fall 2009 Makeup Collection. Dick used the Natural Eyebrow Pencil from the Fall 2009 Makeup Collection if the eyebrows were very light and brushed up the hairs simultaneously.
  • Lips: Perfect Rouge Tender Sheer Lipstick in Pout (RS326) from the Spring 2010 Collection was applied like a lip liner and patted to fill in the rest of the lip to create a soft, translucent lip.
