Revlon Berry Couture Super Lustrous Lipstick
Revlon Berry Couture Super Lustrous Lipstick

Revlon Berry Couture Super Lustrous Lipstick ($7.99 for 0.13 oz.) is a cool-toned, fuchsia-berry with a soft shine. The color was buildable from sheer to semi-opaque–it looked a bit like a lip stain, because of how thin the formula is, as it looks a lot like my natural lip; not heavy-looking at all. This particular shade wore for three and a half hours on me, which is shy of average, but for something with as much slip as this does going on, it was good wear. Revlon Sorbet is warmer. MAC Lickable is slightly brighter. Dior Lucky is warmer. See comparison swatches.

Fuchsia Shock Super Lustrous Lipstick ($7.99 for 0.13 oz.) is a cool-toned fuchsia pink with iridescent fuchsia shimmer. It had sheer to semi-opaque color that was buildable and never felt heavy or thick on the lips. It lasted two and a half hours on me. MAC Midnight Mambo is brighter, cooler-toned. Revlon Lollipop is darker. Chanel Extatique is lighter. See comparison swatches.

Lover’s Coral Super Lustrous Lipstick ($7.99 for 0.13 oz.) is a softened, coral-red with warm undertones and a soft shine. This shade didn’t apply as evenly as the other two, but it had the same thin, your-lips-but-better finish that had a light sheen and sat well on the lips. It wore for two hours. NYX Haute Melon is more muted. Guerlain Nahema is more pigmented, shimmery. Chanel Coquette is lighter, more shimmery. Make Up For Ever Folk is similar. See comparison swatches.

It has a “Shine” finish, which delivers “lightweight color and moisturizing shine” with “buildable color payoff.” The formula is supposed to be moisturizing with a shiny finish. I didn’t detect any scent in any of the ones I bought at all, though I certainly stuck my nose close enough to get pink on the tip of it!  These three all felt moderately hydrating on me, but the hydration only lasts as long as they do, so it’s not as hydrating as a separate lip balm.

Revlon Fatal Apple Super Lustrous Lipgloss
Revlon Fatal Apple Super Lustrous Lipgloss

Revlon Fatal Apple Super Lustrous Lipgloss ($7.99 for 0.13 fl. oz.) is a warm red with no shimmer and subtle orange undertones. It had semi-sheer to semi-opaque color payoff, and the way it applied and sits on the lips makes it look more like a lip stain than a gloss. There is some minor settling into lip lines, but it’s not too noticeable from afar due to the general evenness of the color. While it looks bolder in the tube, applied, it is more muted from the translucency.  Fatal Apple wore for two and a half hours on me.  NARS Hollywoodlawn is more opaque, darker. Chanel Exces is slightly redder. See comparison swatches.

Fuchsia Finery Super Lustrous Lipgloss ($7.99 for 0.13 fl. oz.) is a blue-based, medium bubblegum pink with no shimmer. This shade didn’t apply as evenly as Fatal Apple, as the color seemed to concentrate on the middle of my upper and lower lips!  Fuchsia Finery lasted two and a half hours on me. Revlon Berry Allure is slightly darker. Urban Decay Crush is cooler-toned and more opaque. MAC Style Packed is lighter, more opaque. MAC Call Me Gorgeous is more opaque. Chanel Pink Pulsion has shimmer and is sheerer. Bobbi Brown Electric Violet is less pink, more shimmery. See comparison swatches.

Pinkissimo Super Lustrous Lipgloss ($7.99 for 0.13 fl. oz.) is a warm, yellow-toned, light-medium pink with white shimmer. On lips, it adds a warmer, pink tint along with lots of shimmer.  Pinkissimo wore for two hours when I tested it. NARS Candy Says is warmer, not as pink. MAC Out for Glamour isn’t quite as pink. See comparison swatches.

If you’re curious about how the new formula compares to the original formula, please see this post.  The formula is lightweight, on the thinner side, mostly non-sticky, and comfortable to wear.  I notice a slight tackiness develops after about two hours of wear, but it’s subtle and not enough to be described as sticky.  The biggest downside is how quickly they wear away, so frequent reapplication is necessary to maintain the color and glossiness throughout the day.  With the average gloss, I see between three and four hours of wear, and exceptionally long-wearing glosses last six hours or so in my experience, so you can see these fall short of average. For all of these, I wore them twice (back-to-back), and all three were lightly hydrating.  I couldn’t detect any scent/flavor when I tested them, and each comes in a large, rounded tube with a slanted, doe-foot applicator.

Revlon Berry Allure Super Lustrous Lipgloss
Revlon Berry Allure Super Lustrous Lipgloss

Revlon Berry Allure Super Lustrous Lipgloss ($7.99 for 0.13 fl. oz.) is a darkened, fuchsia pink with no shimmer. It looks purpler and more berry-like in the tube, but applied, it turned rather fuchsia/pink. It had semi-sheer color coverage, and it was only somewhat even when applied (it made my lips look splotchy). Berry Allure lasted two and a half hours on me. MAC Call Me Gorgeous is similar, has more shimmer. L’Oreal Dazzle Me has more shimmer. Chanel Pink Pulsion is less pigmented. Bobbi Brown Electric Violet is similar in tint but has shimmer. See comparison swatches.

Kiss Me Coral Super Lustrous Lipgloss ($7.99 for 0.13 fl. oz.) is a brightened, coral-red with silver/white shimmer and warm undertones. It had semi-opaque color coverage that applied fairly evenly. This hue lasted three hours on me. Revlon Papaya is slightly pinker. MAC Whoops is less coral, not as warm-toned. MAC Meteoric is pinker. Guerlain Candy Stripe is very similar. Hourglass Nectar has no shimmer. Burberry Brick Red is warmer, less red. See comparison swatches.

Pango Peach Super Lustrous Lipgloss ($7.99 for 0.13 fl. oz.) is a soft, warm-toned pink-peach with golden shimmer. It had semi-sheer to semi-opaque color payoff. This shade lasted two hours on me. MAC Strange Potion is lighter, more pigmented. MAC Richer, Lusher is lighter, creamier. MAC Dynasty at Dusk is slightly lighter. MAC Meteoric is pinker. Guerlain Frizzy Mango is similar. Chanel Nakkar is less shimmery. Burberry Cameo Pink is brighter, more opaque. Bobbi Brown Citrus is more shimmery. See comparison swatches.

Though I haven’t reviewed any previously on the blog, I do have a few (that I always intended to review!) in the original formula. The original formula contained 0.20 fl. oz., had a fruity scent (all of the new ones I bought were unscented even when I sniffed from the tube), were sticky (the new ones are completely non-sticky), and contained SPF 15 (the new formula has no SPF rating). Generally speaking, I think the formula improved, but the decrease in size is, of course, not one of the areas they improved on.

The new formula’s texture is lightweight, thin, and comfortable to wear. It is non-sticky, and all three were lightly hydrating when I wore them. After about two hours of wear, there is a very, very light tackiness but I wouldn’t go as far as calling it tacky.  I couldn’t detect any scent or flavor to the gloss (and no waxy or plastic-like scent either). It has an angled, doe-foot applicator and comes inside a large, round-shaped plastic tube.

Revlon Sorbet Colorburst Lip Butter
Revlon Sorbet Colorburst Lip Butter

Revlon Sorbet Colorburst Lip Butter ($7.49 for 0.09 oz.) is a cool-toned, fuchsia pink with a luminous finish.
NARS Jardin des Plantes is brighter, redder. MAC Lickable is similar in color. Guerlain Champs-Elysees is brighter, more pigmented. Revlon Raspberry Pie is a bit darker, less bright. Revlon Lollipop is less red, not as bright. See comparison swatches.

Wild Watermelon Colorburst Lip Butter ($7.49 for 0.09 oz.) is a brightened, medium-dark coral-red with a luminous finish. There’s surprisingly little warmth in this color–there’s some, but it doesn’t turn orange. Maybelline Shocking Coral is brighter, more opaque. MAC Fusion Pink has an iridescence to it. Guerlain Rouge Sensuel is more orange. See comparison swatches.

Both shades had buildable color coverage that ranged from semi-sheer to semi-opaque. There’s a noticeable translucency, which is as expected for the formula (they’re not designed to be full coverage), so the natural lip color will come through. If you have naturally redder lips, I expect both shades will appear redder as a result. The consistency is lightly creamy with a fair amount of slip, so they feel more like a lip balm than a traditional lipstick and feel that way, too. They will slide around the lips somewhat, but I don’t have issues with the color fading or feathering–mostly that the wear time is on the shorter end. Sorbet lasted three and a half hours, which is good for a Lip Butter, but short for shades like this (normally, I’d get five to six hours). Wild Watermelon lasted three hours. They were lightly hydrating but only while worn.

Revlon Pink Lemonade Colorburst Lip Butter
Revlon Pink Lemonade Colorburst Lip Butter

Revlon Pink Lemonade Colorburst Lip Butter ($7.49 for 0.09 oz.) is a pale, lightly warmed-up pink with a luminous sheen. MAC Dreaminess is more pigmented. MAC Angel is darker. Guerlain Beatrix is less pink. Guerlain Rose Desir is darker. Chanel Candide is pinker. Chanel Candeur is cooler. Chanel Magnolia is similar. Chanel Confidentielle is darker. Bobbi Brown Orchid Pink is cooler. See comparison swatches.

Pink Lemonade has semi-sheer color payoff that applied fairly evenly. It lightened my natural lip color but didn’t give it a heavy, pasty look as some pale shades can do. If a lot of beiges and pale pinks make you feel washed out, you may really like the sheerness and finish of this shade. It lasted a mere two hours, so you’ll need to be willing to reapply frequently. The consistency is slick, almost wet, and very balm-like, so it is easy to apply and slides right on (and this is likely why it tends to disappear more quickly than other lipsticks). It was lightly hydrating while worn.

Revlon Cruise Collection ColorStay Ultimate Suede Lipstick
Revlon Cruise Collection ColorStay Ultimate Suede Lipstick

Revlon Cruise Collection ColorStay Ultimate Suede Lipstick ($9.99 for 0.09 oz.) is a medium, warm-toned coral with subtle golden copper shimmer. NARS Beautiful Liar is warmer, more orange. MAC Lady at Play is lighter. MAC Hibiscus is brighter. Guerlain Rouge Sensuel is redder. Guerlain Nahema is lighter. Guerlain Chamade is similar. Guerlain Bal de Mai is darker. Burberry Pink Amber is pinker, less shimmery. See comparison swatches.

The texture is slick, slightly tacky, and has a natural sheen but nothing too shiny or glossy (but not totally matte). It feels somewhat thin, and it applies and looks a bit like a lip stain/lipstick hybrid. The color was semi-sheer to semi-opaque. Initially, I was loving the texture, feel, and look of this product, but after wearing it for a few hours, I was less enamored. The major problem with the formula is that it sucked the moisture right out of my lips (which were hydrated and smooth prior to application), and the drier my lips became, the more uneven and flaky the lip color started to look. It managed to last for about five hours, though it became progressively unflattering over the last two hours of wear. The formula is, unfortunately, touted as long-wearing with lots of hydration.
