Revlon Ultra HD Lip Lacquer ($8.99 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is a new gloss from Revlon HD for spring. There are fifteen shades in total, and I was able to find thirteen of them locally (I’m missing Pink Diamond and Garnet). I’m working my way through testing them, so I hope you enjoy this sneak peek for now
The formula is supposed to “brighten and illuminate skin for a radiant complexion,” and it is designed to be worn alone or mixed with foundation. The consistency is thin, very liquid-like, which makes it ideal for mixing with a liquid/cream foundation or moisturizer. It’s a very subtle highlighter/illuminator–it’s just a sheerer product, so it seems like a much more toned down version of your average highlighter. I think it works best mixed with foundation, because that subtle effect stretches and adds very slight warmth as well as breathes life back into skin (particularly helpful if you have drier skin). Alone, it doesn’t dry down fully, so it doesn’t wear long–a mere four and a half hours–and can make foundation look a little patchy after five to six hours. When I mix it, though, it doesn’t impact the wear of my foundation at all.
Sometimes products are discontinued or limited edition, which means that a product may no longer be available at one or more retailers so you may need to shop around for those hard-to-find shades!
