Rescue Beauty Lounge Concrete Jungle Nail Lacquer
Rescue Beauty Lounge Concrete Jungle Nail Lacquer

Rescue Beauty Lounge Concrete Jungle Nail Lacquer

Rescue Beauty Lounge Concrete Jungle Nail Lacquer ($18.00 for 0.4 fl. oz.) is a muted, gray-casted blue. It’s like the color of the sky as storm clouds start rolling in–a little ominous but still blue.

It’s not currently available, and unfortunately, didn’t garner enough votes in Rescue Beauty Lounge’s Bring-It-Back vote, so we won’t see this back in stock any time soon. On a brighter note, however, Diamond Cosmetics’ Concrete Jungle is supposedly a dupe, and from these swatches, they sure look awfully similar. I’m hoping to snag my own bottle for comparison and will keep you posted.

my thoughts on the formula: These are richly pigmented lacquers that have nuances in both the color and finishes. Each color is well-thought out, and I’ve yet to come across a poor performer in the brand’s color range. I used two coats for opaque coverage.

It's a shade unlike anything I have in my stash, so I have my fingers crossed that the Diamond Cosmetics shade really is a dupe so others can enjoy this color, too!

Rescue Beauty Lounge Dead Calm Nail Lacquer
Rescue Beauty Lounge Dead Calm Nail Lacquer

Rescue Beauty Lounge Dead Calm Nail Lacquer

Rescue Beauty Lounge Dead Calm Nail Lacquer ($18.00 for 0.4 fl. oz.) is described as “an opaque navy, the same fathomless blue as the Gulf of Naples at dusk.”  It’s a really rich, deep dark navy blue.  I used two coats in the swatches, but I almost got away with one–it’s such an intensely pigmented formula that not much product is needed at all.

This kind of blue really works with a variety of skin tones, and I love how it looks blue no matter what light!

Rescue Beauty Lounge Drifter Nail Lacquer
Rescue Beauty Lounge Drifter Nail Lacquer

Rescue Beauty Lounge Drifter Nail Lacquer

Rescue Beauty Lounge Drifter Nail Lacquer ($18.00 for 0.4 fl. oz.) is described as a modern, sexy take on sultry, lush plum.  It’s sold out and not sure if it’ll ever return, but in case it does, this post will be here for all eternity as a reference.  Plus, perhaps together we can find dupes.  This is a really rich, deep dark plummed burgundy cream.  I only needed two coats for complete opaque color, but one was nearly enough.  The closest shade I could think of to dupe this is Essie’s Masquerade Belle, which is slightly less plum.

I like how it's a very deep, dark shade, but it doesn't look black in low light; it still retains the luxurious burgundy-plum look.

Rescue Beauty Lounge Plie Nail Lacquer
Rescue Beauty Lounge Plie Nail Lacquer

Rescue Beauty Lounge Plie Nail Lacquer

Rescue Beauty Lounge Plie Nail Lacquer ($18.00 for 0.4 fl. oz.) is described as the color of the satiny slippers of a prima ballerina. It is a soft, muted pale pink–it’s not a milky pink nor is it pastel. I would say it’s more like a soft pink with a gray overcast. Plie has a cream finish and applies beautifully.

my thoughts on the formula: These are richly pigmented lacquers that have nuances in both the color and finishes. Each color is well-thought out, and I’ve yet to come across a poor performer in the brand’s color range. I needed two coats for opaque coverage.

Rescue Beauty Lounge Yellow Fever Nail Lacquer
Rescue Beauty Lounge Yellow Fever Nail Lacquer

Rescue Beauty Lounge Yellow Fever Nail Lacquer

Rescue Beauty Lounge Yellow Fever Nail Lacquer ($18.00 for 0.4 fl. oz.) is a bright, sunshine yellow with soft, pale gold micro-shimmer. The micro-shimmer is really, really faint but it catches light beautifully. It almost looks like a cream finish in lower light conditions. The first coat looked rather streaky, but the second coat made it look perfect–smooth, opaque, and gorgeous.

my thoughts on the formula: These are richly pigmented lacquers that have nuances in both the color and finishes. Each color is well-thought out, and I’ve yet to come across a poor performer in the brand’s color range. Yellow, which can be streaky and hard to work with, is excellently formulated here.

Rescue Beauty Lounge Red Polishes
Rescue Beauty Lounge: Glamourpuss, Chinoise, Bangin’

Rescue Beauty Lounge: Glamourpuss, Chinoise, Bangin’

Rescue Beauty Lounge recently held their annual 50% off sale, and I must admit, I indulged. I’ve been waiting for this sale for months (ever since buying my first RBLs). I could have sworn I saw someone mention it may be the last 50% off sale… anyway, I couldn’t resist.

The next three I want to share with you are: Glamourpuss (classic true red), Chinoise (lacquered like a Chinese screen), and Bangin’ (hot red coral).  Like the first three, I don’t think these are particularly unique, never-before-seen kind of shades, but they are top-notch in quality.

  • Glamourpuss is a deep red cream with a hint of berry. What I like about this shade is it is definitely not a bright red cream, but it is still bright enough that it won’t be mistaken for black or brown either. This is a red that doesn’t lean blue or orange, which makes it suitable for a variety of skin tones.
    Two coats.
  • Chinoise is a bright red cream. It’s vibrant without being neon or flashy. On me, my skin seems to pull out very slight orange undertones.  I would say it’s similar to Essie’s Red Nouveau.  Two coats.
  • Bangin’ is rich, fiery red coral cream. It’s similar to China Glaze’s Revolution–but not quite as orange.  SpaRitual’s Love & Happiness would also make a decent dupe. Two coats.

All three shades featured in this post were richly pigmented, applied evenly and never streaked, and only needed two coats for full opacity. Each shade retails for $18, and due to the recent 50% off sale, many shades are sold out for the time being.

  • Product: 29/30
  • Value: 8/10
  • Ease of Use: 4/5
  • Packaging: 4/5

RECOMMENDATION: I don’t think you need all three of these, but they are nice vampier shades that lean on the red/brown side. Between Glamourpuss and Bangin’, I’d definitely only opt for one or the other if you’re on a budget.
