OCC + Nylon Magazine Nylon Lip Tar

OCC + Nylon Magazine Nylon Lip Tar

Heralded in the September Issue of NYLON MAGAZINE as the Best Lipstick of 2012, OCC Lip Tar has eclipsed its cult-status and has officially been cemented as a staple in every makeup junkie’s cosmetic arsenal. To celebrate, OCC has partnered with NYLON MAGAZINE to introduce an extraordinary new neon pink, Pantone™-matched to the NYLON logo, aptly christened “NYLON”.

A stunning new innovation in lip colour, OCC LIP TAR is liquefied lipstick. It combines the longevity of a lipstick with the ease of application of a gloss. Packed with highly emollient naturally-derived ingredients including Hemp Oil, whose Omega-3 EFAs allow LIP TAR to go on slick and moist, but set to a satinmatte finish. Just the tiniest drop is needed to provide fullest coverage possible while remaining featherweight light and ultra-longwearing.

NYLON LIP TAR is available August 21st, exclusively at Sephora.com, and in select Sephora Locations beginning on September 17th! Nylon Lip Tar will retail for $16.00.

5 Juicy Tangerine-Hued Eyeshadows

5 Juicy Tangerine-Hued Eyeshadows

My favorite way to wear tangerines (or oranges in general) is to combine them with other bright sunset-ish shades–think magentas, coppers, fuchsias, and yellows/golds.

How do you wear shades like these?

Reach for Olympic Gold with 5 Favorites

I thought it would be fun to celebrate the London Olympics with a few posts inspired by the colors of the medals handed out (gold, silver, and bronze). This post features five of my favorite gold-colored products!

What’s your favorite gold-colored beauty product?

OCC Skin: Conceal (Concealer)

OCC Skin: Conceal ($20.00 for 8.5 grams) recently launched with twelve shades (which is impressive for a concealer range). There are six yellow-based shades and six red-based shades. Each concealer is packaged in a clear plastic screw-top jar, and inside is the concealer. The concealer is in a hardened block, but it’s creamy to the touch and as you dip your brush in it. The texture isn’t too creamy, which can lead to a lot of settling or sliding around during the day, but it isn’t so dry that it’s difficult to blend out. It has amazing opaque coverage; it will hide just about anything, and it never feels heavy, looks cakey, or requires a lot of product. Just a quick pat of concealer on any area will conceal most imperfections.

OCC Triptych Loose Colour Concentrate

OCC Triptych Loose Colour Concentrate ($12.00 for 0.088 oz. / 2.5 grams) is described as a “sleek, regal gold.” It’s a rich, vibrant shade of yellow gold with a frosted, metallic finish. The metallic finish comes out more strongly when it is applied damp/wet. Tarina Tarantino Mr. Gold/Mr. Silver is less metallic, less yellow. NARS Paramaribo is darker. Bare Escentuals Remix is less yellow. MAC Goldmine is more orange. Inglot #430 is slightly darker. Urban Decay Honey is very similar but less metallic.

OCC Digitalis Lip Tar

OCC Digitalis Lip Tar ($14.00 for 0.33 fl. oz.) is described as a “pink-tinged lavender.” It’s a cool-toned, blue-based pink with a soft purple tint. MAC Saint Germain is similar but a little lighter. MAC Naughty Saute is much darker but has a similar coloring. MAC All Styled Up is pinker.  Though the color is on the lighter side, it’s a very brightening shade on the lips and against the face.
