An exciting new texture option from the LIP TAR range, STAINED GLOSS combines the pigment potency of LIP TAR with a casual glossy finish that’s ready-to-wear from its first slick application to the high impact stain it leaves behind. “OCC fans have been asking to see a new take on LIP TAR that remains true to our high opacity heritage, while providing a more transparent look” says David Klasfeld, CEO and Creative Director, “We took our inspiration from art objects like stained glass windows and lighting gels. Transparent yet concentrated color that no one would dare call sheer”. LIP TAR: STAINED GLOSS can be worn alone or layered over your favorite existing shades for added depth, dimension and a glossy finish that lasts!
This is an incredibly pigment-rich formula; nearly one coat is fully opaque, but I felt like the texture looked best (dense, plush, and lightly shiny) with two coats, so I’d still recommend two coats. For reference, I left my pinky fingernail with only one coat of product, so you can see the opacity. The consistency isn’t too thick or too thin, but it is on the thicker side. It flowed well over the nail, and I didn’t have any problems with the polish streaking or pooling along the edges. I typically get a week of wear with minor tip wear but no chipping with OCC’s formula.
Sometimes products are discontinued or limited edition, which means that a product may no longer be available at one or more retailers so you may need to shop around for those hard-to-find shades! We try to update products as they become discontinued, and if you discover a product has been discontinued, please help us help others by letting us know.

Introducing SCI-FI LULLABIES, OCC’s newest colour collection for Spring 2013! Spring has always been a time for transformation, and this season we explore the dichotomy between two realities: What is truth and what is fantasy. Showcased alongside Ready- To-Wear shades are fantasias of Couture Colors designed to transport you to your idyllic designation, whether it’s firmly planted on the Earth or exists only on an unexplored off-world colony. I could have easily given you a list of ten, being the gold fiend that I am, but I’ll keep it to the current five that really say holiday to me. I think gold is a very versatile color. It pairs well with warmer shades like bronze, rust, and berry, but it can also work with cooler-toned shades like violet, teal, and blue. And if golds not your cup of tea, I have five of my favorite silvers for holiday coming right up. Any interest in seeing some holiday blue shades? What other holiday-themed favorites would you like to see?
