Maybelline Color Tattoo Pure Pigments (Barely Brazen, Breaking Bronze, Downtown Brown)

Maybelline Color Tattoo Pure Pigments ($6.99 for 0.05 oz.) come in twelve different shades, and this post features three of them. These are the first three I grabbed to try, and they happened to coordinate rather well together, which was a nice bonus! I really liked all three, as they had a very soft, finely-milled texture with nice pigmentation. Maybelline touts 24-hour wear (which is one of my least favorite claims for any product to make), and I’m not overly comfortable wearing makeup for that long, but I did wear all three shades for sixteen hours. I had some creasing after nine hours, and it was noticeably faded and fairly creased by sixteen hours. When worn over a primer, I didn’t have any issues until fourteen hours (some fading but no creasing).

  2. Revlon Kiss Me Coral — warm, orange-coral gloss

5 Shimmering Shades of White

Pure, snow white–in a variety of finishes, plus a highlighter that looks almost white in the pan but is a little warmer and golden than that. I wanted to include a white polish, but there weren’t many permanent ones to choose from (that I’ve covered and were good) — what white polishes have you found to work best? You can check out comparison swatches of my picks, too :)

  1. Inglot #453 — bright, metallic white (and not too cool-toned)
  2. Sugarpill Tako — matte white
  3. Maybelline Too Cool — creamy, cool-toned white
  4. NARS Albatross — a dusting of shimmer and sheen
  5. NARS Santa Monica Blvd. — bright white for your lash line

What’s your favorite white-hued beauty product?

5 Reds to Set Off Fireworks

Will you be wearing your red, white, and/or blue on July 4th? I’m most likely going to sport a red lip, at the very least! Here are five of my picks for a little red-themed inspiration, and it was quite hard to narrow it down, because there are so many awesome red lipsticks and polishes in particular. So think of this as just a moment in time – surely if I picked a week from now, it would be different :)

  1. Fyrinnae Hitched — a bold, warm red with a beautiful satiny sheen
  2. Zoya Blaze — a deeper, cool-toned red with sparkle
  3. Maybelline Very Cherry — rich, cherry red with a matte finish for under $10
  4. Make Up For Ever #99 — pure matte red for those who dare to go big
  5. Guerlain Garconne — classic, sumptuous deepened red

And for fun, I pulled ’em all up to compare here.

What’s your favorite red-hued product?
