Maybelline Baby Lips Lipgloss
Maybelline Baby Lips Lipgloss

These are the last four Maybelline Baby Lips Lipglosses ($4.49 for 0.18 fl. oz.), and all four have a jelly finish. The gloss is a new formula that’s supposed to be shiny, non-sticky, and hydrating for four hours with twelve shades divided into three finishes. These all looked similar applied, so from a color standpoint, it’s unnecessary to have them all. The jelly finished shades have a slightly thicker texture to them, though they feel very similar once you apply to the lips. The formula feels lightweight, mostly non-sticky (a very slight tackiness develops after two to three hours of wear), wears for one to three hours, and is comfortable and hydrating. There is a sweet, fruity-floral scent that tastes like perfume-y soap during the entire length of wear; I could taste it just talking to someone, and it ruined anything I ate or drank. They were comfortable to wear, though, and they don’t feel heavy and keep and maintain hydration going for an hour or two after most of the gloss has worn away. The formula is sheer (as it is supposed to be) with a lot of shades looking the same once applied, but they may vary wildly from person to person due to much of it being dependent on your natural lip color.

Maybelline Coral Craze Baby Lips Lipgloss ($4.49 for 0.18 fl. oz.) is a subtly, orange-tinted gloss. It darkens and adds warmth to my natural lip color. It lasted for an hour on me, so I ended up wearing it a few times to ensure it was hydrating at least. Maybelline Berry Chic (P, $4.49) is brighter, less glossy. MAC Loose & Lively (LE, $22.00) is lighter. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Maybelline Pink Pizazz Baby Lips Lipgloss ($4.49 for 0.18 fl. oz.) is a barely-there, pink-tinged gloss. This one darkened my natural lip color without altering it with any warmth/coolness, so it appears less reddish compared to Coral Craze. It was gone after an hour, though it was hydrating if you kept reapplying it. (By the by, that is how Maybelline spelled it.) Maybelline Tickled Pink (P, $4.49) is lighter. Maybelline Pink-a-boo (P, $4.49) is lighter. Chanel Rose Reve (189) (LE, $29.50) is lighter. Chanel Rose Reve (189) (LE, $29.50) is lighter. MAC Boundless Energy (LE, $22.00) is warmer. Maybelline Fab & Fuchsia (P, $4.49) is warmer. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Maybelline Fab & Fuchsia Baby Lips Lipgloss ($4.49 for 0.18 fl. oz.) is a muted, medium pink-tinted base with a glossy finish. It was another short-wearing shade at a whole hour for wear, but at least it was still hydrating–I just have balm that lasts longer and is more hydrating, so that’s why it’s disappointing. Sephora Collection Raspberry Punch (21) (P, $14.00) is darker, cooler. Bite Beauty Three (Watercolor) (LE, ) is lighter. NARS Glow Pink (LE, $26.00) is cooler. Urban Decay Lovechild (P, $20.00) is lighter, brighter. MAC Pure Magnificence (LE, $20.00) is lighter, warmer. Maybelline Pink Pizazz (P, $4.49) is warmer. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Maybelline Berry Chic Baby Lips Lipgloss ($4.49 for 0.18 fl. oz.) is a muted, orange-tinted gloss (not sure what’s berry about it!). This gloss wore for one and a half hours, and it was hydrating while worn. NYX Cherry Cheesecake (P, $5.00) is lighter, brighter, more pigmented. NARS Wonder (P, $26.00) is darker, brighter, more pigmented. Bite Beauty Eight (Watercolor) (LE, ) is more pigmented. Maybelline Citrus Evolution (115) (LE, $8.99) is lighter, brighter, more pigmented. MAC Grand Pumpkin (LE, $15.00) is lighter, brighter, more pigmented. Maybelline Coral Craze (P, $4.49) is brighter, less glossy. See comparison swatchescompare dupes side-by-side.

Maybelline Baby Lips Lipgloss
Maybelline Baby Lips Lipgloss

These next four Maybelline Baby Lips Lipglosses ($4.49 for 0.18 fl. oz.) are of the cream finish. The gloss is a new formula that’s supposed to be shiny, non-sticky, and hydrating for four hours with twelve shades divided into three finishes. The cream finish doesn’t go on quite as evenly and can pull into lip lines slightly, but the gloss is fairly thin so this isn’t too noticeable.

Maybelline Taupe with Me Baby Lips Lipgloss ($4.49 for 0.18 fl. oz.) is a light-medium, peachy-orange with warm undertones and a cream finish. (There is nothing taupe-like about this shade.) It had sheer coverage that gave my lips a lighter, slightly warmer appearance without altering the color itself too much. It applied fairly evenly without emphasizing lip lines too noticeably. The gloss lasted for an hour and a half on me, which is short, so reapplication will be a must. Buxom White Russian (P, $19.00) is lighter. MAC Innocent (LE, $20.00) is lighter, brighter. MAC Boy Bait (P, $20.00) is darker. MAC On the Scene (LE, $20.00) is lighter. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Maybelline Pink-a-boo Baby Lips Lipgloss ($4.49 for 0.18 fl. oz.) is a very pale, milky pink with subtle, warm undertones and a cream finish. It had sheer coverage that noticeably lightened the look of my natural lip color and drew out the natural pink tones of it. There was some streaking, but it didn’t pull into lip lines too much. It lasted for two hours on me. Maybelline Pink Pizazz (P, $4.49) is lighter. NARS Turkish Delight (P, $26.00) is lighter, brighter. Chanel Rose Reve (189) (LE, $29.50) is lighter, brighter. NARS Tasmania (P, $26.00) is darker, brighter, warmer. MAC Picture Pink (LE, $15.00) is lighter, brighter, more pigmented. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Maybelline Life’s a Peach Baby Lips Lipgloss ($4.49 for 0.18 fl. oz.) is a light-medium, pink-peach with a cream finish. Applied, this didn’t read very peach or warm-toned on me–it actually looked more like a milky, cool-toned pink against my natural lip color, but it will vary depending on what your natural lip actually is. It had semi-sheer coverage that applied evenly but did emphasize lip lines. It wore well for two and a half hours for me. MAC Talk Softly to Me (LE, $15.00) is darker. NARS Turkish Delight (P, $26.00) is lighter, brighter, warmer. Buxom White Russian (P, $19.00) is warmer. Too Faced Naked Dolly (LE, ) is warmer. NARS Tasmania (P, $26.00) is darker, warmer. MAC Flair for Finery (LE, $20.00) is darker. MAC Patience Please (P, $19.50) is more pigmented. Maybelline Passionate Peony (120) (LE, $8.99) is lighter, brighter, more pigmented. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Maybelline Tickled Pink Baby Lips Lipgloss ($4.49 for 0.18 fl. oz.) is a light, milky pink with cool undertones and a cream finish. It had sheer coverage that went on somewhat evenly and didn’t emphasize lip lines too noticeably. The gloss was gone after an hour and a half of wear. Maybelline Pink Pizazz (P, $4.49) is lighter. NARS Nucleus (LE, $26.00) is lighter, brighter, more pigmented, warmer. MAC Wanting More (LE, $15.00) is lighter, brighter, more pigmented. NARS International Velvet (LE, $26.00) is more pigmented, cooler. See comparison swatches/ compare dupes side-by-side.

Maybelline Rich Ruby ColorSensational Creamy Matte Lip Color
Maybelline Rich Ruby ColorSensational Creamy Matte Lip Color

Maybelline Rich Ruby ColorSensational Creamy Matte Lip Color ($7.99 for 0.15 oz.) is a slightly muted, medium-dark red with cool, blue undertones and a satin finish. It had good pigmentation that covered the lips for the most part, but there is a very light translucency to it overall. The texture was lightweight, velvety, and smooth and applied evenly to the lips. It was really comfortable to wear and wasn’t drying over the six hours it lasted, and I didn’t experience feathering or bleeding either. Clinique Cherry Pop (P, $18.00) is lighter. NARS Deadly Catch (LE, $26.00) is warmer. MAC Frank-n-furter (LE, $16.00) is darker. Kat Von D Hexagram (P, $21.00) is lighter, less glossy. Chanel La Desiree (327) (LE, $34.00) is darker. NYX Chic Red (P, $4.00) is darker. MAC Ronnie Red (LE, $16.00) is brighter. MAC MAC Red (P, $16.00) is cooler. Colour Pop Creeper (P, $6.00) is lighter, less glossy. MAC Charlotte (LE, $16.00) is lighter, cooler. Besame Besame Red 1920 (P, $22.00) is lighter, brighter, warmer. Besame American Beauty 1945 (P, $22.00) is lighter, brighter, glossier. MAC Stunner (LE, $16.00) is lighter, warmer. Anastasia American Doll (P, $20.00) is lighter, less glossy. MAC Kinky (LE, $16.00) is lighter, warmer. First 15 dupes listed, see more: See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Maybelline All Fired Up ColorSensational Creamy Matte Lip Color ($7.99 for 0.15 oz.) is a brightened,pinky-red with warmer undertones and a satin finish. It had fairly opaque coverage that went on evenly and smoothly, while it lasted for six and a half hours with a light stain left behind. It was slightly drying after four hours of wear, though. The texture seemed a bit thinner compared to other shades I’ve tried. Colour Pop Toucan (P, $5.00) is cooler. Estee Lauder Jealous (P, $30.00) is cooler. Chanel La Petillante (49) (LE, $34.00) is warmer. MAC All Fired Up (P, $16.00) is cooler, less glossy. Colour Pop Mars (P, $6.00) is warmer, glossier. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Maybelline Pink Sugar ColorSensational Creamy Matte Lip Color ($7.99 for 0.15 oz.) is a brightened, light-medium pink with warm, yellow undertones and a semi-matte finish. The texture had a velvety feel to it with light slip but heavier, full coverage. It seemed thicker than other shades in the range, and it emphasized lip lines slightly but didn’t pull into them too much while worn. The color lasted for four and a half hours on me and was neither drying nor hydrating. Colour Pop 1st Base (P, $6.00) is darker, more muted, warmer, less glossy. Colour Pop Fetch (P, $5.00) is darker. Bite Beauty Sweety (LE, $24.00) is darker, warmer. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Formula Summary: It is supposed to “deliver a burst of bold lip color” with a “creamy texture” and a matte finish. In general, the formula has good color payoff with a velvety, creamy consistency that covers evenly and most shades seem to make lips appear smoother but some shades were prone to pulling into lip lines as the color wore away. The big thing about these is that they have a mostly matte finish and are more comfortable to wear than many matte formulas due to the velvety feel (almost like a silicone primer, but not quite as heavy and not clingy). The formula was neither drying nor hydrating on me. It had a sweet, plastic-like scent but no taste.

Maybelline Baby Lips Lipgloss
Maybelline Baby Lips Lipgloss

Maybelline Baby Lips Lipgloss ($4.49 for 0.18 fl. oz.) is a new formula that’s supposed to be shiny, non-sticky, and hydrating for four hours with twelve shades divided into three finishes. I’m reviewing them based on finish, so this post features the four shimmery shades. They’re lightweight, mostly non-sticky (a very slight tackiness develops after two to three hours of wear), wear for one to three hours, and are comfortable and hydrating. The formula has a sweet, fruity-floral scent that tastes like perfume-y soap during the entire length of wear; I could taste it just talking to someone, and it ruined anything I ate or drank. The shimmer in these shades is noticeable in texture, though they are fine enough not to feel particularly gritty, but the thinner consistency made them apparent on the lips. They were comfortable to wear, though, and they don’t feel heavy and keep and maintain hydration going for an hour or two after most of the gloss has worn away. The formula is sheer with a lot of shades looking the same once applied, but they may vary wildly from person to person due to much of it being dependent on your natural lip color.

Maybelline Just a Glimmer Baby Lips Lipgloss ($4.49 for 0.18 fl. oz.) is a clear gloss with iridescent, pink, lavender, and silver shimmer with a glossy shine. It lasted for two hours on me and was hydrating overall. MAC Beautiful Moves (LE, $22.00) is warmer. MAC Oh My Darling (LE, $15.00) is more shimmery, warmer. MAC Steel Kiss (LE, $15.00) is warmer. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Maybelline A Wink of Pink Baby Lips Lipgloss ($4.49 for 0.18 fl. oz.) is silver and pink sparkle suspended in a barely-there pink-tinted base with warmer undertones. It gives my natural lip colors a darker, redder look with warmth. It only lasted for two hours, even though it was moisturizing when worn. MAC Rags to Riches (P, $20.00) is more shimmery, lighter, brighter, warmer. Giorgio Armani #500 (P, $29.00) is more shimmery, lighter. Chanel Allegorie (LE, $29.50) is more shimmery, lighter. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Maybelline Fuchsia Flicker Baby Lips Lipgloss ($4.49 for 0.18 fl. oz.) is a light, cool-toned pink-tinted base with lighter pink sparkle. This was another shade that wore for two hours on me but was still moisturizing. MAC Happily Ever After (LE, $15.00) is more shimmery, lighter. MAC Pagoda (P, $20.00) is more shimmery. MAC Pagoda (P, $20.00) is more shimmery. Maybelline Blushing Petal (505) (P, $8.99) is more shimmery, lighter. Chanel Eau de Rose (86) (LE, $27.00) is more shimmery, lighter. MAC Fashion Scoop (P, $20.00) is less shimmery, lighter. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Maybelline Lilac Lumi Baby Lips Lipgloss ($4.49 for 0.18 fl. oz.) is a light-medium, pinky-lavender with lighter violet iridescent shimmer. This was the most pigmented of the four shimmery shades, and this shade had noticeable color applied, though it was still semi-sheer coverage. It wore well for three hours on me and was hydrating over time. Marc Jacobs Beauty Pink Steam (322) (P, $28.00) is less shimmery. Gucci Beauty Potent Violet (P, $32.00) is less shimmery. MAC Reckless Desire (LE, $15.00) is less shimmery, lighter. Shiseido Nebula (VI207) (P, $25.00) is lighter, brighter, more pigmented. MAC Vacant (LE, $15.00) is more pigmented. See comparison swatches/ compare dupes side-by-side.

Maybelline Burgundy Blush ColorSensational Creamy Matte Lip Color
Maybelline Burgundy Blush ColorSensational Creamy Matte Lip Color

Maybelline Burgundy Blush ColorSensational Creamy Matte Lip Color ($7.99 for 0.15 oz.) is a medium-dark, reddish burgundy with warm, brown undertones and a satin finish. It had semi-opaque color payoff that went on evenly but had a slightly drier consistency compared to most of the range. The texture was lightweight and slightly drying over time, but I only felt the drying quality kick in after four hours of wear, while the color lasted for closer to six in all. MAC Extended Play (DC, $18.00) is warmer. NARS Amsterdam (P, $26.00) is more muted. MAC Diva (P, $16.00) is lighter, brighter. MAC Deeply Adored (LE, $16.00) is lighter, brighter. MAC Runner (LE, $16.00) is darker. Tom Ford Beauty Velvet Cherry (08) (P, $50.00) is lighter, brighter. MAC Hearts Aflame (LE, $16.00) is lighter, warmer. MAC Studded Kiss (P, $16.00) is lighter. NARS 413 BLKR (LE, $26.00) is lighter. MAC Fixed on Drama (LE, $16.00) is darker, cooler. Maybelline Divine Wine (P, $7.99) is lighter, brighter, warmer. Colour Pop Avenue (P, $6.00) is lighter, less glossy. Colour Pop Tulle (P, $6.00) is darker, brighter, warmer, glossier. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Maybelline Nude Nuance ColorSensational Creamy Matte Lip Color ($7.99 for 0.15 oz.) is a slightly muted, medium-dark brown with hints of warm orange and a semi-matte finish. It had fairly good coverage that went on evenly and smoothly. This shade had one of the more matte finishes within the recent additions, and the color wore for five hours and was neither drying nor hydrating. Maybelline Clay Crush (P, $7.99) is lighter. Colour Pop Parker (LE, $5.00) is lighter. Colour Pop Bumble (P, $6.00) is cooler, less glossy. MAC Persistence (P, $16.00) is warmer. MAC Whirl (P, $16.00) is lighter, more muted, cooler. MAC Mocha (P, $16.00) is lighter, warmer. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Maybelline Clay Crush ColorSensational Creamy Matte Lip Color ($7.99 for 0.15 oz.) is a light-medium, peachy-brown with a semi-matte finish. It had subtler, warmer undertones but it lacks brightness so it ends up appearing less orange-based. The texture was velvety and applied evenly with smooth, mostly opaque color payoff. I had some issues with the color pulling into lip lines after three hours, though it wore for five hours overall. NARS Het Loo (P, $25.00) is darker. MAC Oxblood (LE, $16.00) is lighter. NARS Isola Bella (P, $25.00) is lighter, brighter, glossier. MAC Bad Girl RiRi (LE, $16.00) is darker, cooler, less glossy. Maybelline Nude Nuance (P, $7.99) is lighter. Maybelline Nude Nuance (P, $7.99) is darker. MAC Persistence (P, $16.00) is darker. Colour Pop Parker (LE, $5.00) is darker, cooler. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Maybelline Vibrant Violet ColorSensational Creamy Matte Lip Color
Maybelline Vibrant Violet ColorSensational Creamy Matte Lip Color

Maybelline Vibrant Violet ColorSensational Creamy Matte Lip Color ($7.99 for 0.15 oz.) is a brightened, purple with strong, pink undertones giving it a warmer undertone overall paired with a satin finish. It had semi-opaque color coverage with a lightly creamy consistency so the color applied evenly. The color lasted for five and a half hours, while the formula was neither drying nor hydrating but fairly comfortable to wear. MAC Up the Amp (P, $16.00) is lighter, glossier. MAC RiRi Boy (LE, $16.00) is lighter, less glossy. Kat Von D L.U.V. (P, $21.00) is lighter, less glossy. Kat Von D L.U.V. (P, $19.00) is brighter, less glossy. Colour Pop Grind (P, $5.00) is lighter, brighter, glossier. Anastasia Vintage (P, $20.00) is darker, less glossy. Colour Pop Lychee (P, $6.00) is lighter, less glossy. Colour Pop Zipper (P, $6.00) is darker, less glossy. MAC Heroine (P, $16.00) is lighter, brighter, glossier. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Maybelline Electric Pink ColorSensational Creamy Matte Lip Color ($7.99 for 0.15 oz.) is a brightened, light-medium pink with strong, cool blue undertones and a satin finish. It had mostly opaque pigmentation that covered evenly initially, though I had some color slip into lip lines after four and a half hours of wear. This shade lasted for five and a half hours in total and was neither drying nor hydrating. Colour Pop Buds (P, $6.00) is darker, less glossy. NARS Angela (P, $32.00) is darker, more muted. Clinique Wow Pop (P, $18.00) is darker, more muted, warmer. Anastasia Party Pink (P, $20.00) is lighter, brighter, less glossy. Kat Von D Backstage Bambi (P, $19.00) is darker, brighter, less glossy. Melt Cosmetics Stupid Love (P, $19.00) is darker. MAC Happy-Go-Lucky (LE, $16.00) is warmer, glossier. Illamasqua Luster (P, $26.00) is lighter, glossier. Bite Beauty Satsuma (LE, $24.00) is darker, warmer, glossier. MAC Candy Yum Yum (P, $16.00) is darker. Maybelline Pink ‘n Chic (P, $7.99) is lighter, more muted. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Maybelline Pink ‘n Chic ColorSensational Creamy Matte Lip Color ($7.99 for 0.15 oz.) is a brightened, light-medium cotton candy pink with strong, blue undertones and a satin finish. It’s definitely not what you’d think of for a matte finish, though it is a lot more comfortable to wear than your average matte as it had more slip. The texture was creamy and lightweight, almost velvety, and lasted for four and a half hours but some color pulled into lip lines over time.
Illamasqua Luster (P, $26.00) is darker, glossier. Kat Von D Armageddon (P, $19.00) is lighter, brighter, less glossy. Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Mannequin (P, $18.00) is lighter, brighter. MAC Saint Germain (LE, $16.00) is cooler. MAC Pink Nouveau (P, $16.00) is darker, more muted, glossier. MAC Raspberry Swirl (LE, $16.00) is lighter, more muted. Maybelline Electric Pink (P, $7.99) is lighter, more muted. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Maybelline Blushing Pout ColorSensational Creamy Matte Lip Color ($7.99 for 0.15 oz.) is a muted, light-medium pink with hints of cooler, mauve tones to it, though it had more of a neutral-to-cool undertone paired with a satin finish. It had fairly opaque coverage that applied evenly overall, but there is some translucency so if you have a stronger natural lip color, it may pull differently on you. It was lightweight, comfortable to wear, and lasted for five hours on me. I did notice some color pulled into lip lines after three and a half hours of wear. Maybelline Ravishing Rose (P, $7.99) is darker, less pigmented, warmer. Colour Pop Shimmy (P, $6.00) is lighter, less glossy. Maybelline Lust for Blush (P, $7.99) is darker, warmer. Bite Beauty #005 (LE, $36.00) is brighter, less glossy, cooler.
